TWO MASCULINE VALENTINES HSSCT53 CHALLENGE

With Valentine's usually being all fru-fru and lacey, etc, I thought it would be fun to do a masculine manly card.  I used the a-la-carte single stamp BE MY VALENTINE for this card.  I stamped it in black ink on whisper white card stock, layered it onto News Print DSP, then onto real red card stock.  I put all these layers on a black card stock base and added a sheet of whisper white inside for the sentiment and note.  I used the very thin 1/8" black ribbon with the white edging to tie a simple knot.  LOVE IT.  And for just a little bling, I used my versamark pen and dabbled a bit on the heart then added black sparkle embossing powder and heat embossed it.  What do you think?  All the ladies at my workshop yesterday loved it.

Another masculine card is this one I made this past week for HSSCT53 Challenge:

Sorry the photo is fuzzy.  I used my phone instead of my camera to shoot it.  This is the FILLED WITH LOVE stamp set using old olive and real red ink, layered on black card stock.  I put the LOVE all "kittywampus" on the layer of Newsprint DSP which is also layered on black then the base white card stock.  I made a very simple knot with the BLACK SATIN RIBBON.

Hope these gave you some inspiration to make your own masculine valentine's cards.  Won't you share them with me?

Keep stamping and smiling!!

CYNTHIA'S WORKSHOP MAKE-N-TAKE

Hi Stampers,  Today I did this cute make-n-take valentine treat holder at Cynthia's workshop.  We had 9 fun ladies around the table having a great time, laughing, stamping, gluing and of course snacking.  It was awesome!!  Most of them were newbies to stamping and I am so proud of how well they did.  Good job gals!!

I used my BIG SHOT and the SQUARE SCALLOP DIE to cut out the Filled with Love DSP as well as some cardboard to give it good thickness so it will stand up and be CUTE.  The handle is held on with a retired valentine brad, the heart decoration was the dsp with the FILLED WITH LOVE Heart Stamp on top of that and it is layered on top of the EMBOSSLIT SCALLOPED HEART OF HEARTS in very vanilla.  LOVE IT.  I created the inside from a piece of Regal Rose card stock and wanted it to be fairly skinny to just hold a few goodies.  We then glued that inbetween the two sides and added some shreds and there you have it.
You can see it is only 7/8 inch thick, which is perfect for some mini candy bars, sweethearts, or jellies.  YUMMMMM.

Cute Sarah and Nicole scheduled a workshop for us to stamp an Easter card in a few weeks - thanks ladies!!  I will have something awesome at that workshop for everyone to make and take home also!!

SUO Challenge #10 - Welcome Baby

I LOVE my Big Shot and all the projects you can do with it.  I especially LOVE LOVE LOVE my mini milk carton die.  I can't tell you how many of these I have made, but it is up in the 200's with all the times I have offered it as a class or workshop!!

This sweet 'BABY STEPS' stamp set is one of my favorites - I think the Mommy and baby elephant are so cute.  I used subtles for the colors because I wanted it to be able to be used for either a boy or a girl congratulations.

I used different clips, brads, and punches at the top for closure.  The second stamp set I used was "GOT TREATS" for the directions to open on each mini carton.  I hand cut the holder they set in.  And I died the white taffeta ribbon with my Daffodil Delight ink.  I used multiple colors inking the "congratulations" tag at the top.  Thanks for looking.
p.s. The new mommy LOVED the gift filled with all sorts of yummy goodies.

TWO CHALLENGES - Blogger Challenge DSP and STAMPIN ROYALTY - wings

I have entered the Blogger Challenge:  Designer Paper at http://www.makeminestamps.com/ AND the Stampin Royalty Challenge: anything with wings at http://stampinroyalty.blogspot.com/.  Here is my owl calendar.  I punched out the owl by centering the flower of the Playdate DSP in the center of his little body.  CUTE!

And because this is a calendar, I used the numbers page for the background to go with the theme.
ENJOY!!
THIS IS A BLOG HOP.  HOP AROUND TO EACH ENTRY AND ENJOY THE FUN.

VALENTINE #3 - LOADS OF LOVE

The LOADS OF LOVE stamp set is such a versatile and fun set.  Here is the pickup truck loaded up with valentines for all.  Inside I made a double tag with the words: LOADS OF LOVE and attached with a brad.

I made this card two different ways.  The top is colored with watercolor crayons and the aqua painter.  It looks a watercolor painting.  The bottom one is colored with markers and the aqua painter.  It is more saturated in the depth of the color.

Don't you just LOVE the new POM POM TRIM?  I used the MELON MAMBO POM POM TRIM here on my card.

FIRST OF MY VALENTINES FOR MY UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

This is the first of my valentines I will be demonstrating in my workshops I have booked for the next couple of weeks.

The stamp set used for this card is the one in the Valentines bundle sale - "FILLED WITH LOVE".  The edge of the card is the very vanilla, but I put it on top of something black so it looks like it continues on.  No, it does not.

I stamped with real red and old olive ink, and used Newsprint DSP for the back layer (from the big catalog), which was layered upon black card stock.  I used black satin ribbon tied in a knot, and crystal effects on the red hearts to make them shiney and have a bit of texture.  Inside I stamped one of the sentiments included with this set.

Thanks for looking.  Go get crafty!!

VINYL DECOR ELEMENTS

Have you tried our new VINYL DECOR ELEMENTS yet?  I LOVE THEM!!  They are so perfect for that one spot where you need a little something more.  Or maybe you want your family and friends to remember something important?  Set the Mood?  etc...

I added this "GIVE THANKS" from page 11 of the DEFINITELY DECORATIVE catalog.  It fits perfectly in my kitchen with the chocolate vinyl against my venetian gold walls.  PERFECT

This "SERVE THE LORD" element is on page 28 of the DEFINITELY DECORATIVE CATALOG.  I wish it would show up bigger for you to see better. (Does anyone know how to make it clickable to be seen bigger in another window on your computer?)  It is beautiful and directly over my front door as you are about to leave.   It is size 'medium' in chocolate.  The decoration beside the verse is not Stampin Up.  It is left over from another vinyl element I have on a different wall from my daughter.  However, there are several flourishes that you can add from SU, like the one called DOTTED FLOURISH on page 23, or ORGANIC OUTLINE on page 24, or the FLEUR-DE -LIS ACCENT on page 15.  Or what about FLOURISHES (set of 6) on page 26 - I really like this one.

Always remember when you purchase a decorative element to put on your wall that it goes smoother and easier if you also order the $1.95 Applicator from page 35 to rub the element first to get it all stuck to the proper side of the application, then to also rub it onto the wall.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing what is on my wall.  Please le me see what you put on YOUR WALLS, ok?

Happy crafting!

OWL YA' DOIN?

I have been asked to host a class for the ladies of my church and I am delighted to share some of the cute ideas we have with Stampin' Up!

I am going to have the ladies do the cute Owl Calendar that Diana Gibbs does on http://www.dianagibbs.typepad.com/

Here are two of my versions of her cute magnetic calendars. This one I used some discontinued Brillant Blue card stock because it just needed that color! I gave this little guy some sleepy, sad kind of eyes to make you love him all the more!!

The one above I used Playdate DSP and carefully centered the little vest over a cute flower. Isn't it adorable? Don't need to add the heart on this one!! The leaf/branch is a die cut with my Big Shot called "Little leaf", but you could also use the bird punch leaf if you have it.

I got the medium calendar packs from VIPPIES, but SKYBLUEPINK also has them and they might even be a little cheeper.

Get out some paper and glue and get crafting!!

MY NEW BLOG DESIGN

JANUARY 1 IS MY BIRTHDAY - and I decided to buy myself a birthday present - a NEW BLOG DESIGN.  What do you think?  Isn't it cute?  I just LOVE these little quail in real life - they are always in my in-law's back yard during the winter and they scratch under the bushes to find things to eat in the snow.  They are happy to be in a big flock and run all over the neighborhood.  So cute!  SOOO, when I saw this design available at Laycock Design's I knew it was MEANT FOR ME.

I am an avid bird watcher.  And the nickname of JennyWren came from my dad.  There was a little storybook about a cute little wren named JennyWren.  So I was DESTINED to love birds all my life!!

Anyway, enough of me - please let me know what you think of MY NEW BLOG.  Looking forward to hearing from you.
