CARD PURSE FOR MOTHERS DAY OR BIRTHDAY

I HAVE A CUTE CARD I HAVE CASED FROM SEVERAL OTHER BLOG SITES LIKE MY FRIEND DEE SLATER AND ANOTHER I FOUND ON LINE FROM BONNIE.  THANKS, GALS!!

OF COURSE I HAD TO CHANGE IT UP A BIT BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT CREATIVITY MEANS, RIGHT??

IT IS A CARD IN THE SHAPE OF A PURSE, WITH A HANDLE, CLOSURE, ETC.:

I USED LUCKY LIMEADE CARD STOCK AND SCORED IT WITH MY SIMPLY SCORED SO THAT IT FOLDS AND HAS A FLAP.  THEN I ADHERED ICE CREAM PARLOR DSP (ON THE RETIRED LIST AND ON SALE!!) ON THE SHORT FLAP.

I USED THE TOP NOTE DIE AND MY BIG SHOT TO CUT ONLY A PARTIAL DIE CUT SO THAT IT FIT THE FLAP PIECE.

YOU CAN ADD EITHER AN IN COLOR BRAD AS I DID, OR AN ICE CREAM PARLOR BUTTONS.

HERE IS THE CARD OPENED UP LIKE YOU WOULD OPEN THE PURSE.  I USED BLUSHING BRIDE CS ON THE INSIDE TO PUT THE SENTIMENT.  I USED TWO RETIRING STAMP SETS FOR THE MESSAGE INSIDE.  HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY WISHES IS A HOSTESS SET THAT IS RETIRING, AND THE OTHER SENTIMENT IS FROM CHERISH FRIENDSHIP, ALSO RETIRING.

THE PUNCH BUNCH HOSTESS SET IS THE STAMPED FLOWER, WHICH I PUNCHED OUT WITH THE BLOSSOM PUNCH.  THIS COVERS THE RIBBON CLOSURE THAT GOES AROUND THE BRAD OR BUTTON TO KEEP THE PURSE CLOSED.

THE RIBBON HANDLE IS ALSO FROM THE ICE CREAM PARLOR RETIRING SET AND ON SALE RIGHT NOW AT A BIG DISCOUNT.  I USED MULTIPLE MARKERS TO COLOR IN THE HAPPY BIRTHDAY STAMP TO KEEP IT WITH THE THEME OF ALL THE COLORS IN THE DSP AND RIBBON.  ISN'T IT CUTE?

WINNER WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER:
I PUT ALL THE ENTRANTS FROM OUR BLOG HOP LAST WEEK ONTO PIECES OF PAPER AND MY HUBBY CHOSE ONE AND THE WINNER IS - MARIA V.  HER COMMENT WAS:  "Thanks for the fabulous blog hop and for sharing some great projects!! "  THANKS FOR THE LOVELY COMMENTS AND CONGRATS MARIA!!

Maria will be receiving a fun package of a stamp set, some ribbon, paper and brads that match, as well as a few die cuts and other odds and ends so she can make cards.

THANKS FOR VISITING OUR BLOG HOP LAST WEEK.  KEEP VISITING BECAUSE WE ARE GOING TO HAVE ANOTHER HOP NEXT MONTH!!

BE CREATIVE AND GET INKY FINGERS Y'ALL!!

BLOG HOP DAY THREE - A BIG FINISH

Hi Stampers,  Yippee it is FRIDAY.  What are you planning for this weekend?  We are going to get up early tomorrow morning and go to a State Park - Brazos Bend State Park here in Texas.  It is a beautiful wild setting with lots of lakes and ponds.  And you know what else?  ALLIGATORS.  Yep - it is fun to see the gators in the ponds and lakes.  Also, they have some wonderful birds that come through and stay a bit here.  Last time we were there, we saw roseate spoonbills.  I LOVE THEM.  So pretty and rosey pink with their funny shaped bills.  In the spring they enjoy staying around this park getting fattened up and ready to nest.

We had wanted to camp there this weekend but decided too late and it is all reserved.  So a day trip is what we will do tomorrow.  What are YOU going to do for the weekend?

WE ALL hope you have enjoyed our Glitter Queens Blog Hop.  It was a smaller group this time because many of the Glitter Queens are getting ready to leave for Disney World tomorrow!!  How fun is that??  I used to live just an hour and a half away and went to Disney a LOT.  When it first opened, they gave special discounts to Florida Residents so we took advantage of it and went often.  They don't do that anymore, I don't think.

On to my projects for you today....

I have so many ideas rumbling around in my head that it was hard to decide which ones to show you.  Wish I could show them all to you, but I decided on these.  Hope you like them:

I ordered this stamp in FRENCH because I like to use French words on some of my cards.  This is the first card I have sewn with my sewing machine and I like how it turned out!!  I think I will do some more sewing on future cards as well.  The pennant punch was used here on Spice Cake DSP (retired) for both the smooth edge and the scalloped edges of the pennant.  Then I sewed them to a piece of 1/8" ribbon and attached the banner with a brad on each end.  I used my corner rounder punch to smooth out the corners of my "bonjour" stamped image to give it that smooth sleek look and sponged it with early espresso.  You like?

I scallop punched the bottom espresso piece and put it up under the pool party layer before I sewed it on.

'OWL YA' DOING?

Yesterday I told you how much I LOVE owls and our owl punch, so I thought I would show you an idea I did last year to make magnetic calendars with our owl punch.  I put magnetic sheet on the back so it can be on your bulletin board, fridge or anywhere you can put a magnet.  I purchased the little calendars with sticky on the back from an on-line supplier.  These are great teacher gifts too!!

Here is another cute little guy on the Play Date DSP *retired.  Some of this paper is up on the clearance rack or on the retired accessories list.  If you have some favorite DSP, go get it now before it is totally gone!!  I just got some Ice Cream Parlor paper because I LOVED that last year and wanted to have a bit more to do some projects!!

The punches are the scalloped circle punch, the large circle punch, the owl punch and the little leaves sizzlets die.  You can also use the bird punch for the branch and leaves if you have that.  Doesn't the owl's vest look so cute with that little flower right in the middle?  That is just the DSP and I centered the flower just right.  And I added a half circle as sleepy eyelids on top of his circle eyes.

Only a few more days to be able to order Sweet Shop suite items from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  I LOVE the paper with the cute cupcakes on it. I used a small circle punch to make it look like a border paper.  Isn't that a great idea?  We need to use up every bit of this adorable paper, don't we??!!  ( And the wisteria wonder embossed polka dot paper in that pack is adorable too!!)  Here I used the CUPCAKE PUNCH for the large cupcake on the large scalloped circle.  I used dazzling diamonds on the icing, but sponged a bit of pool party blue before I put the diamonds on.  The cherry can be made with the glimmer paper in red, OR by heat embossing white card stock with cherry embossing powder.  Your choice how you do it!!  I LOVE how the pool party baker's twine looks on this card.  SO FUN.  Get all your favorite things from the Occasions Mini NOW. It is only until April 30th that you can order from this mini catalog.  HURRY!! :-)

DON'T FORGET TO LEAVE A COMMENT TO BE IN THE DRAWING FOR MY BLOG CANDY. I am giving away a stamp set as well as paper, ribbon and other goodies I can fit into the envelope.  And you MUST be a follower of my blog as well.

Ready to hop on to the next blog?  Go to Jan's blog next, ok?

HERE'S TO INKY FINGERS, Y'ALL.  Have a creative weekend, ya hear?  I'll do the drawing for the blog candy on Sunday afternoon.  Check back then.

BLOG HOP DAY 2 - OWL CARD

HEY STAMPERS,  Did you enjoy our fun projects yesterday on the first day of our BLOG HOP??  I, too, got some great ideas I am going to use in the future!!

My project for you today is an adorable card I saw on Mary Fish's blog.  She is a talented fellow SU demonstrator.  Hi Mary!!

The OWL PUNCH is one of my most favorite punches.  I LOVE birds of all kinds and especially OWLS!!

Isn't he just adorable peeping out from his heart shaped hole??  I love to put the eyes close together to give them goofy and cute looks.

I kept the card clean so that you would only focus on the cute little owl looking out from the Heart Shaped Hole for his home.  As you can see, I sponged the edges of the card and the thank you tag with daffodil yellow.

Supplies for this card are as follows:

Accessories:  Owl punch, Big Shot, Framelits Hearts Collection die, Decorative Label Punch, unknown
                        brand  of fiber in yellow
Card Stock:  Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Inks: Island Indigo and Daffodil Delight
Paper:  Retired Garden DSP
Other:  SU sponge, Stampin' Dimensionals, Snail adhesive

CELY HAVENS
CANDICE CRAWFORD

HOPE YOU ENJOY OUR THREE DAY HOP.

FOR MY PROJECT TO SHARE WITH YOU TODAY, I HAVE A FUN LITTLE GIFT BOX THAT MATCHES THE THANK YOU CARDS INSIDE.  THE CARDS ARE ONLY 3 X 3 WHICH MEANS THEY ARE THE KIND YOU ATTACH TO A GIFT OR PERSONALLY HAND TO SOMEONE.  THEY ARE TOO SMALL TO GO INTO THE US MAIL.

I USED PEACH PARFAIT DSP OVER PEACH PARFAIT CARD STOCK.  THE STAMP SET IS OVAL ALL STAMPED ON VERY VANILLA CARD STOCK.  I USED PEACH PARFAIT STRIPED RIBBON TO DECORATE THE BOX.

EACH LITTLE CARD IS MADE WITH A DIFFERENT PRINT FROM THE DSP.

NOTICE THE CUTE LITTLE ENVELOPES THAT MATCH THE CARD?  I LEARNED ABOUT THIS FROM ANGIE JUDA'S BLOG, USING A SMALL ENVELOPE.(thanks Angie!!)

FOR THE ENVELOPE, YOU SEAL THE ENVELOPE SHUT AND THEN CUT ONE END TO THE SIZE YOU NEED.  THIS WILL BE THE OPENING FOR THE TOP OF YOUR ENVELOPE.  CUT A PIECE OF THE DSP AND SCORE IT ABOUT 3/4 INCH FROM ONE EDGE.  ROUND THE CORNERS OF THE LARGER EDGE  WHICH IS YOUR FLAP.

YOU SLIDE THE SMALLER END INTO THE ENVELOPE AND GLUE IT TO THE INSIDE BACK.  THIS ATTACHES IT TO THE ENVELOPE AND THE FLAP FOLDS TO THE FRONT.  THIS IS SO THE PRETTY FLAP SHOWS WHERE YOU PUT THE RECIPIENT'S NAME.  REMEMBER, THIS DOES NOT GO INTO THE US MAIL.

I AM GIVING AWAY BLOG CANDY.  HERE'S HOW TO WIN:

1.  BECOME A FOLLOWER OF MY BLOG AND LEAVE ME A COMMENT TELLING ME YOU ARE A FOLLOWER. (ONLY NEEDED ONCE)

GRANDSON SHOWS PIG AT THE COUNTY FAIR

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO FOLLOW ME REGULARLY, YOU KNOW THAT THIS IS THE SECOND YEAR MY GRANDSON KYLE HAS RAISED A YORKSHIRE PIG TO SHOW AT THE COUNTY FAIR.  HE DID A GREAT JOB AT THE FAIR AND WON 5TH PLACE.  WE ARE SO PROUD OF KYLE AND ALL THE HARD WORK HE AND HIS FAMILY PUTS IN TO THIS FFA PROJECT.  IT HAS BROUGHT THEIR FAMILY CLOSER BY WORKING TOGETHER AND THEY HAVE HAD FUN TOO.  HERE ARE A FEW PHOTOS OF KYLE AND "WILSON" THE PIG.

THIS IS ME AND WILSON AT THE END OF JANUARY.  HE IS VERY SWEET AND FRIENDLY.  LOVED TO BE SCRATCHED.
WILSON IN HIS PEN AFTER A HARD DAY AT THE COUNTY FAIR. LOOK AT THOSE HAMS!!

HERE IS KYLE AND WILSON IN ACTION FOR THE JUDGE.  IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO GUIDE A PIG AROUND THE RING FULL OF OTHER PIGS.  ALL KYLE HAS IS A SMALL STICK TO TAP WILSON TO TELL HIM WHICH WAY HE SHOULD GO.

KYLE GETTING WILSON READY TO TAKE INTO THE RING.  HE IS OF GOOD CONFORMATION AND MUSCLE.  THIS IS LEAN, SUPERIOR PORK FROM ALL THE HARD WORK THESE KIDS PUT INTO TAKING CARE OF AND RAISING THESE ANIMALS.

GRANDMA IS VERY PROUD, CAN YOU TELL??

THANKS FOR ALLOWING ME TO GUSH A BIT ABOUT MY GRANDSON AND HIS PIG.

BY THE WAY, DON'T FORGET TO COME FOLLOW OUR GLITTER QUEEN'S BLOG HOP APRIL 25=27.  THERE WILL BE BLOG CANDY AND LOTS OF GREAT IDEAS.

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY - HERE'S TO INKY FINGERS AND CREATIVITY!!

TGIF - THANK GOODNESS IT'S FRIDAY!! AND UPCOMING BLOG HOP

HI Y'ALL.  WHAT A WONDERFUL MORNING THIS HAS BEEN.  IT IS OVERCAST SO IT HAS NOT GOTTEN TOO HOT YET HERE IN HOT AND HUMID OL' HOUSTON.  SO I GOT SOME THINGS DONE OUT IN THE GARDEN I WANTED TO DO.  MY SEEDS ARE ALL SPROUTING - YELLOW SQUASH, ZUCCHINI, BANANA PEPPERS, YARD LONG GREEN BEANS.  AND MY JALAPENO PEPPERS HAVE ABOUT 16 LITTLE BITTY PEPPERS JUST STARTING TO GROW ON EACH BUSH.  SO LIVE IS GOOD HERE.  HOW ARE YOU DOING?

I MADE SOME CUTE THINGS FOR MY GRAND DAUGHTER, KAYLEIGH, FOR HER 12TH BIRTHDAY.  IN OUR CHURCH, TURNING 12 IS A VERY BIG DEAL!!  IT IS WHEN THEY NO LONGER HAVE TO GO INTO THE CHILDREN'S CLASSES, BUT ARE NOW YOUNG WOMEN AND YOUNG MEN AND HAVE THEIR OWN CLASSES GEARED TO THEIR AGE.

AMONG OTHER THINGS WHICH I CANNOT SHOW YOU UNTIL SHE RECEIVES THEM TOMORROW, I MADE HER THIS CUTE LITTLE NOTECARD ON A CHAIN.  I USED MY BIG SHOT AND THE FLOWER BIGZ DIE (SEE THE CLEARANCE RACK FOR THE GREAT PRICE ON THIS OF ONLY $7.99!!) AND SOME STIFF CARDBOARD FROM PACKAGING.  I USED DECORATIVE PAPER TO COVER THE CARDBOARD FRONT AND BACK, THEN USED CARD STOCK IN SOME FUN IN COLORS  FOR THE INSIDE NOTES.  HOPE YOU LIKE THIS SIMPLE BUT FUN GIFT.

HERE IS THE FRONT WITH THE DSP ON TOP OF THE THIN CARDBOARD PACKAGING.  I ADDED A CUTE DIE CUT "K" AND A CUTE BUTTON FOR THE FRONT.

NOW I HAVE IT OPENED SO YOU CAN SEE THE CARDSTOCK NOTES INSIDE THE LITTLE PAD.  ISN'T THIS A CUTE GIFT?  I HAVE TO RUN TO MY CRAFT STORE TO GET THE KEY RING INSTEAD OF THE RIBBON I USED TEMPORARILY.

FOR AN ADULT, THEY CAN CLIP IT TO THEIR PURSE HANDLE OR THEIR KEY RING.  FOR THE CHILDREN, THEY CAN CLIP IT TO THEIR BACKPACK, PURSE OR KEY RING.

I HAVE LINKED IT UP TO THE "MINUTES FOR ME" BLOG LINK AT http://marciascraftysewing.blogspot.com/2012/04/minutes-for-me-linky-party-15-every.html

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

TODAY IS GOOD FRIDAY.  GETTING READY FOR EASTER CELEBRATION WITH MY FAMILY.

I MADE SOME GOODIES FOR A FEW FRIENDS THAT I PLAN TO BRING TO THEM TOMORROW.  LET ME SHARE THEM WITH YOU.  I MADE THEM WITH MY BIG SHOT AND THE  TWO TAGS DIE AS WELL AS THE BASKET AND BLOOMS DIE.
I created the baskets in daffodil yellow, apricot appeal (retired), pear pizzazz and blushing bride.
I attached the tags from the two tags die after I stamped on it HE IS RISEN and the Easter lily stamped image from the current Easter set.
I used the blossoms from the same die as the basket on the second tag in from the right and attached it to the tag with a HAT PIN.  So cute~~

Above is a close up of the tag with the Easter message for you to see better.

I put some of that paper basket filler (can't remember what it is called!!  hate when that happens) and a goodie in the basket.

You can see the hat pin on this tag with the die cut blooms that are attached with it to the tag.

Closeup of the hat pin tag.  All tags were sponged around the edges with contrasting or coordinating colors.

This one is my favorite - pear pizzazz and pretty in pink.  Love the striped ribbon I got on the clearance rack.  And the lillies are so pretty, aren't they?

This glimmer pink ribbon is recycled from a store bought card from Valentines day.  I always try to reuse and recycle anything I can!!  Thought it worked perfectly here, don't you??

WHAT GOOD NEWS - HE IS RISEN.  EASTER BLESSINGS TO YOU AND HOPE YOU HAVE A LOVING TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
