FRIENDS ARE THE GARDEN OF LIFE

My friend, Jan Mougel, is a fellow Glitter Queen team member and she showed us during the blog hop how to make an ADORABLE GIFT BAG from 2 sheets of designer series paper.  Not only did she tell us how to do it, but she also made a video for us.  At my advancing age, I find I am getting to be more and more a visual learner.  That video was done so very well that I immediately took out my score tool and made the gift bag!!  Thanks so much JAN.  If you want to see her video, please visit her at: www.bearycreativecrafts.blogspot.com

I made this gift bag to put a fun valentine in for a friend of mine.  Not only is the candy yummy, but she will receive a handcrafted gift bag from me too!!

I made this bag from the FREE SYCAMORE STREET DSP from the Sale-a-Bration flyer.  You can choose to get this FREE with a $50 order of any products you desire.

I used the FREE RIBBON for the handles of the gift bag.  The buttons and the ribbon come together as ONE FREE ITEM through Sale-a-Bration.  They match the colors used in the designer paper.

I stamped Papillion Potpourri stamp set and colored it in with my markers, then used the butterfly punch and glued it on the bag.

Thanks again to JAN for sharing her expertise with us all.  Make some of these fun bags for your gifts to friends and family soon!!

Come on, get creative y'all!!  Let me know if I can help you, ya hear?

EXTRA DAY

ONE EXTRA DAY OF SALE-A-BRATION ITEMS TO SHOW YOU.  I JUST COULDN'T FIT IT ALL INTO OUR 4 DAYS OF BLOG HOPPING!!

This is the HAPPY HELLO SIMPLY SENT KIT which is, you guessed it, FREE with SALE-A-BRATION!!  It is a kit to make cards, but I wanted to show you how easy you can make other projects, like this gift box for goodies.  I got the idea on the web and the directions from Barb M. at Barbstamps.com.  Thanks girlie!!

You can see how the kit looks on the left and on the far right how the paper looks.  And a little peek into the box as well for the chocolate goodies!!  YUMMM

The embellishment of the 3 layer flowers and the stripe are self adhesive die cuts that come in the kit, as well as the rhinestones on the left side.  I added the blue brad inside the flower from my stash.  And of course I added the cellophane bag of candy tied with summer starfruit ribbon from my stash as well!!  (grin)

Directions for scoring.  Lay it down flipped pattern side down,  the Tall way on the score tool where you will score at 1" and 4 1/2: all the way down.

Then turn it the Long way on the score tool and score at 3" only. (It is even with where the the printed chevrons end on the backside.) There is another score line about 1" below that which comes already scored when you receive it.

You cut the two tab areas where the Long scores meet the Tall scores.  These are your tabs and you put Sticky Strip on the outside of these and also on the top along the outer edge as shown in the photo.

I just wanted you to see how the blue printed chevrons show on the side once you adhere them over.  It does not go all the way around.  You adhere the back white piece first on the small tab, then adhere the blue piece.

That's all there is to it.  You can now make cute gift boxes of goodies to go with your cards from this FUN and FREE Simply Sent Kit.

Hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial.  Here's to creativity y'all!!

LAST DAY OF SALE-A-BRATION BLOG HOP

Do you have a Sale-a-Bration flyer?  If you do not have a demonstrator, I would love to mail one to you.

For those of you who have a flyer, there is something I would like to point out.  I am the first to admit the flyer is a bit confusing.  It is in a different format than we usually see, so we have to search it very carefully so we don't miss anything.  It reminds me of the board game "CLUE".  You know, where Colonel Mustard used a knife in the ballroom.  ha   I first saw things I just HAD to get.  Then I went back and studied it more and saw some things I had not noticed before.  FREE ITEMS FROM OUR LARGE ANNUAL CATALOG. (page in annual catalog is included for your reference)

1.  ITTY BITTY BANNERS STAMP SET,  (p. 134) - (wood 132194) (clear 132195)

2.  GETTING STARTED CARD STOCK PACK, (p. 151) - basic colors of card stock, 24 sheets (p. 151) (#132199)

3.  VINTAGE FACETED DESIGNER BUTTONS, (p. 191) - (#132201) 24 buttons

4.  QUINT-ESSENTIAL FLOWER STAMP (p. 110) - (#132202)  goes with 4 punches!!

5.  SIMPLY SCORED DIAGONAL PLATE (p. 181) - (#132203)

6.  ESSENTIALS PAPER-PIERCING PACK (p. 181) - (#132204)

MAKE SURE YOU USE THE ITEM NUMBERS IN THE FLYER OR ABOVE BECAUSE THEY ARE SPECIAL NUMBERS FOR YOU TO GET THE ITEM AS YOUR FREE ITEM FOR SALE-A-BRATION!!

Ok, enough of business, now on to the creativity.

For this card I used very vanilla cs as the base and used  the FREE VINE STREET EMBOSSING FOLDER.  I then rubbed some Crumb Cake ink over the raised embossed images to help them show up more.

I used FREE SYCAMORE STREET DESIGNER SERIES PAPER along the bottom of my card, as well as FREE SYCAMORE STREET RIBBONS AND BUTTONS PACK.  L.O.V.E.  how all the colors coordinate with each product we use.

The FREE STAMP SET I used is called MADISON AVENUE STAMP SET.

I used mini pop dots to glue on the buttons on each flower.  I put a sliver of card stock into the button holes to make them look like they had been sewn.  Love the satin ribbon in pool party!!  The colors that coordinate with this DSP and what I used are:

ISLAND INDIGO
TANGERINE TANGO
POOL PARTY
RICH RAZZLEBERRY
GUMBALL GREEN

LOVE how the embossing folder and the stamp set coordinate so well, don't you?

My next card is a minimalist card that packs a lot of punch:

I LOVE bees!!  They are a symbol of industry, hard work and tenacity.  All the qualities that are good character traits to have.  Sorry for the lighting changing the color of the card stock.  It is DAFFODIL DELIGHT like this first photo.  The second photo makes it look like a different color and I am sorry for that.  My flash directly on the card is changing the color on my camera.

The other thing I love about bees is HONEY!!  I love the taste of honey.  I love whipped honey, honey butter and honey candy.  It is so yummy, isn't it?  So this HONEYCOMB EMBOSSING FOLDER is perfect for this card with my little bees.  The bee is from the stamping set COLLAGE CURIOS in the SPRING CATALOG and they are small stamps to go with small punches, small spaces like the honeycomb, and small embellishments like the small POP CAPS.
Notice the awesome new ribbon?  It is NATURAL TRIM from the SPRING CATALOG.  It has a lot of texture and is very nice to work with.  I also used CRYSTAL EFFECTS on top of the bees on the HONEYCOMB EMBOSSING FOLDER for that shiny effect like they are inside their cell of the honeycomb.

The sentiment is from CIAO BABY STAMP SET from the SPRING CATALOG and I used the FREE PETITE CURLY LABEL PUNCH from SALE-A-BRATION.  I also used the CURLY LABEL PUNCH from the big catalog as the back layer punched from FREE SYCAMORE STREET DESIGNER PAPER.

A closeup of my special detail of the small POP CAP, crushed on my BIG SHOT with a 3/4 INCH PUNCH glued on the top.  I punched a small hole with my 1/16 INCH HAND HELD PUNCH for my mini pin to go through to attach my embellishment to the trim.  Isn't that darling??!!  Do you like honey or bees?

THANK YOU  for visiting our blog hop this week.  I hope you have lots of inspiration now to start your spring stamping.  If you need any supplies, I would love to help you.  You can click my signature line below to go to my order site.

BLOG HOP - DAY THREE - VALENTINES TREATS

HI Y'ALL:  Are you having fun seeing all the creations on this hop?  I am really enjoying my Glitter Queen Team mates' creations and getting GREAT ideas and techniques!!

Today I have some fun Valentine treat ideas.  Valentines do not always have to be RED, I think.  Pinks we see quite regularly, but I think BLUE works too.  Especially for boys and men, don't you agree?

Our manager, Dawn Griffith, showed us a great little treat box a week or so ago and I decided to try to make some of them for one of my classes.  It is made with the TWO TAGS DIE and the BIG SHOT.  I also used the new HONEYCOMB EMBOSSING FOLDER from our Spring Catalog.

Here is a closeup for you to see how cute they are.  I used some FLOWER BRADS from the Clearance Rack ( there are some GREAT DEALS there!!).

My card club members loved these little gifts with some shreds stuffed in the box and some chocolate!!  YUMM.  These can be used for birthdays, thank yous, Easter, etc.  Very versatile depending upon the colors and brads/decorations you use.

Here are some more for Valentine's Day.  I used the EMBOSSLITS FASHIONABLE HEARTS DIE and red cardstock.  I also used the EMBOSSLITS SCALLOPED HEARTS DIE.  See how you can decorate them for any event or holiday?  They are awesome.  And look how cute the REAL RED CARD STOCK looks as shreds inside the box, matching the hearts.  FUN FUN

Speaking of fun, here are a few more FUN treat ideas for you:

The stamps used on this cute little notecard are:  Spring Sampler and Ciao Baby.

Hope you enjoyed my fun treats today.  Time to hop on to De's blog.  DON'T FORGET TO LEAVE A COMMENT  so you will be entered for my BLOG CANDY.

SALE-A-BRATION BLOG HOP - DAY TWO

This has been so much fun seeing all the ideas from my team mates.  I hope you have found some ideas and also some products you want to add to your "stash".

I have what I think is a very  CUTE GIFT for a THANK YOU to teachers, or a THINKING OF YOU for a friend, etc.  It is a little decorated holder of a mini pen and some post-it notes.  Perfect for someone's desk or purse.

Here are three of them I made, each a little different but the same design template.

I used the following card stock colors:
   Summer Starfruit
   Midnight Muse
   Gumball Green

The designer paper pack is called PRINT POETRY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER STACK.  It is a pack of 48 double sided papers sized at 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" in a pad.  Easy to store and easy to flip through to choose what you want to use.  I LOVE this size of DSP.  It is in our new SPRING CATALOG.

Here it is open so you can better understand the design.  These mini pens are being sold all over, and the best price I found in my area is in the discount aisle at Target.  They say Little Kitty on them, but hey, I don't think it matters, does it?

The PETITE BUTTERFLY PUNCH is from the Spring Catalog, and the curly label punch is from the large annual catalog.  The PETITE CURLY LABEL PUNCH is a FREE item from Sale-a-Bration.  The "hello" is from the stamp set called PRETTY PETITES and is also a FREE item from Sale-a-Bration.  I used pearls for the bodies of the butterflies.

Thanks so much for visiting each day of our blog hop.  If you do not have a demonstrator, please consider letting me be your demonstrator, won't you?
