CLEAN AND SIMPLE NOTE CARDS SET - BUTTERFLY PUNCHES

SUMMERTIME - LOVE IT.  Especially since I have a BUTTERFLY GARDEN and all the beautiful butterflies come around to rest, drink nectar and lay eggs on their host plants.

I saw an idea similar to one of these note cards on the web and thought I would make a gift set with them.  I love how clean and simple they are and hope you will too.

Here are the four cards in the set.  Each one is a tiny bit different but all very similar because they are part of a set.  I used a retired THINKING OF YOU sentiment, but any sentiment will do.

This is just a one layer card so is the most simple one.  I punched the print paper butterfly with the Beautiful Butterfly Punch and then glued a whisper white petite butterfly punched out on top of it.

This one is so pretty with white on white layers.  I punched the butterfly out of the white layer and then glued a piece of the designer paper on the card base under where the punch out.  I popped up the layer with lots of stampin dimensionals, added the little white butterfly and a pearl.

Here is the two layer card again, but with the sentiment a bit higher up on the card.

Here is another two layer card but with the butterfly punched out on the left side of the card.

This will make a nice birthday set or thank you set for teachers.

SECRET GARDEN AND PRINT POETRY DSP

TODAY is the last day you can order from the Spring Catalog.  TOMORROW starting at NOON you can order from BOTH ANNUAL CATALOGS:  LAST YEARS AND THIS YEARS NEW CATALOG.  AND you can order from both until June 3rd.  What are you waiting for?  Get your wish list ready and set your alarm for one minute after NOON.

My card today was inspired by my SU Manager, Dawn Griffith.  Thanks girly!!

Midnight muse is such a beautiful dark blue and is perfect on this card with the designer paper banner.

As I am sure you know, the Secret Garden stamp set also has a set of framelits that go with it to die cut the images with your BIG SHOT.  This is the first time I have made a large banner for my cards, and I must say I like it!!  Especially on this simple card.

I cut the banner tails with my paper snips and the solid flower is on stampin dimensionals.  Pearls are in the middle of each flower.

Thanks for visiting.

CASING A CARD FROM STAMPIN' UP!

One of the many, many benefits of being a demonstrator for Stampin' Up! is that we get lots of ideas of what to do with our products.  This card is similar to one that SU showed us this past month on line for our demonstrator's magazine.  I changed a few things to make it my own.

I only used my window light for this card to make it look more "natural".  Not sure if that worked or not, but I thought I would try it.  Crisp Cantaloupe and Bermuda Bay card stock along with our Whisper White have been used here.

Mixed Bunch stamp set stamped twice and punched out - once with Bermuda Bay ink and once with Coastal Cabana ink.  I distressed the edges of the flowers, then added a punch of Summer Starfruit and a middle part with Bermuda Bay ink.

A closer look at the layered flower and the Cantaloupe Crisp banners.

The baker's twine looks like Crisp Cantaloupe, but is really Tangerine Tango.  The sentiment is from A Round Array Stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by.  IF you are interested in getting at least 20% discount on all purchases, getting a special magazine every other month, being able to see and order new products more than a month before customers, as well as being a part of my fun team, please contact me as soon as you can.  The special $30 extra product with your kit expires in just a FEW DAYS.

SWALLOWTAIL BUTTERFLIES

I know I have said it before, but I LOVE the background stamp SWALLOWTAIL.  It is so large it covers the whole card if you want it to.

Today I have a card to show you with a new technique for me.
I used some printed designer paper and stamped my swallowtail butterfly with versamark.  Then I put early espresso embossing powder on it and heat set it.  Very striking, don't you think?

I also put a small amount along the edges so it was similar to a background layer behind the paper.  I like that look.  And I put a small strip of the designer paper on the inside for continuity.

My second card is emboss resist.
Stamp with versamark and then use CLEAR embossing powder.  After heat setting it, use sponges and ink to rub color around the stamped image.  Clean off with a clean rag and VOILA.  Ink is in the unstamped impressions and around the outside of the butterfly.  LOVE IT>

Here are both cards side by side.  Different techniques but both are beautiful.

What do you think?  Have you used both of these techniques?

SIMPLY PRESSED CLAY SNEAK PEEK

Making buttons and flowers with the NEW SIMPLY PRESSED CLAY AND MOLDS.

Two ways to create your items (probably more but two I have used so far):
1.  put clay in a baggie and add a few drops of ink
2.  close up baggie and massage the clay until the ink is evenly distributed into the clay
3.  press into molds and let dry

OR

1.  just press clay into molds, let dry and color with markers, ink pad, etc.

The blue buttons had the ink massaged into the clay before I molded them.  The white ones are just pressed and dried.

If there is any remnant of clay outside of the shape, you can just snip it off with scissors.  It is very flexible like fun foam.

The holes are slightly closed on the buttons when you mold them.  After they are dry, just poke the rest of the way through to make the button holes.

Here is a card again I made with the white rose and then I colored with markers:
I used a soft color on this rose.  I tried my aqua marker and some ink, but it wasn't intense enough in color.  The marker seemed to work much better.

BEST OF BUTTERFLIES

I am LOVING this moth type butterfly.  I originally came in the breast cancer donation stamp set.  It is one of the butterflies in the BEST OF BUTTERFLIES 25th anniversary stamp set.

Best Of Butterflies Clear-mount Stamp Set
Best Of Butterflies Clear-mount Stamp Set#133345
Price$14.95

I chose my colors by FIRST choosing my designer paper.  Then I chose the colors that match it. Here I used melon mambo and gumball green.

After I adhered the designer paper to the card base, I used the new ARTISAN LABEL PUNCH and punched thru both layers on the front of the card.  I then punched a piece of melon mambo and glued it through the window I created with the punch.

I used the A ROUND ARRAY stamp set for the K IS FOR KINDNESS sentiment inside the punched out window and popped it up with a Stampin' Dimensional. (It was punched out with the 7/8" scallop circle punch)  I made little shutters for the window with some more melon mambo.

Melon mambo ink on whisper white card stock and fussy cut out the butterfly image.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals and then drew on the two antennae with a soft suede marker.

I saw this idea on Jason Kreiger's blog.  Thanks JK.  He goes by JK and I am also  JK (Jennifer Kay) so I always check out his fun ideas on his blog.  GREAT CARD!!

SMALL SIZED THANK YOU CARDS

Howdy Bloggies,

I am still stamping with A ROUND ARRAY stamp set and this time I also used OH HELLO stamp set.
I saw an idea very close to this on Yvettes Paper Garden blog.  Thanks for the idea Yvette!!

I used basic gray card stock 6 x 3, scored at 3 and the polka dots embossing folder.

I used the newARTISAN LABEL PUNCH after I stamped the chevron stamp from OH HELLO with gray ink on whisper white card stock.  I also punched out some white to layer behind the label.  Then I used real red with the 1 1/4" scallop circle punch to layer behind the THANK YOU from A ROUND ARRAY stamp set to give it a pop of color.

The two cards on the outside are folded so they open from the bottom.  The one in the middle opens on the right.  They are all the same size, just facing different ways.

I hope you try some of these smaller 3" square enclosure cards as thank you cards.  They are quick and easy to make and FUN!!
STAMPS:  A ROUND ARRAY, OH HELLO
INK:  basic gray
CARD STOCK: whisper white, basic gray, real red
OTHER:  polka dots embossing folder

A BRIGHT AND CHEERY THANK YOU CARD

I don't use bright colors very often, but I am loving this combination of GUMBALL GREEN, CRUSHED CURRY AND MELON MAMBO.

There is a little more than 1 week left to take advantage of the A ROUND ARRAY bundle - the petite scallop circle punch and the clear stamp set.  Here is another card to tempt you to order this bundle while you can save 15%.  The stamp set and the punch will be in our new catalog for another year but the bundle will be gone.

The base of my card is CRUSHED CURRY.  I stamped one of the stamps from A ROUND ARRAY along the side panel of WHISPER WHITE in two different colors of ink, layered in MELON MAMBO.  I also stamped the eraser end of a pencil to add a little more color with my crushed curry ink.

I used the stitched GUMBALL GREEN RIBBON.  The sentiment is from PERFECTLY PENNED stamp set.

The last thing to point out are the three small flowers punched, and the centers have the dazzling details liquid glitter in the middle (rats, I cannot remember the correct name of this stuff - and I love it!!)  I also LOVE the PERFECTLY PENNED stamp set.  Isn't it so pretty on this card.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  If you are now convinced you "NEED" this bundle, click my signature below and go to my store to purchase it.
