SPRINGTIME BUTTERFLY

HEY BLOGGIES,

A few days ago I saw a wonderful Swallowtail Butterfly card by a fellow demonstrator Tami White.  I was so inspired by her card I decided to make one myself.

I have loved this swallowtail butterfly stamp since it first came out.  I made so many cards with it in the beginning, but not so many since the holidays hit.  I am glad for a reminder of how beautiful it is and what fun cards we can make with it.

A closeup of the wings so you can see the ink blending.  I used Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Rose Red inks and a sponge to do my blending.

One more view of the complete card. I should have done a landscape card so that I had more room for my sentiment.  It was a bit of a squeeze to get it in there where I wanted it, but I did it!!

Thanks for stopping by and a shout out to Tami for her awesome idea.

OLDIES BUT GOODIES FOR AN EASTER CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Sometimes using something you love even if it is retired is a good thing!!  I used a retired stamp that I absolutely loved last year (or was it two years ago?) and just had to create another card with this sweet set.

I believe the color of the card had a lot to do with why I wanted to do it again!!  Turquoise is an Easter color for me that I really like a lot.

I used the sentiment as a background.

MASCULINE BIRTHDAY CARD - AHOY

HEY BLOGGIES,

I forgot to post this birthday card I made for one of my son-in-laws for his birthday this week.

I love how this card came out.  So cute with the nautical theme and so pretty with the blue and white colors. I used Open Sea stamp set.

I used blue and white bakers twine around this little panel of the anchor, and even glued the twine on the rope part from the stamp and had it coming out the hole where the rope came out.  I really like this part a lot, very personalized, I think.

On each side of the anchor panel are two very large rivets/brads that I hammered into the card.  But I left the middle part from the background paper so it looks like a port hole on a ship.

I stamped Happy Birthday inside the card, but sorry that I forgot to get a photo of that part.  The "Oh Hello" is stamped on the decorative label punch and slipped under the layer so only a portion of it shows.

Thanks for stopping by.  This idea could be a great Father's Day card as well with the new GOING GLOBAL Occasions stamp set.

WORKING ON MY BARGELLO QUILT AGAIN

HEY BLOGGIES,

I am finally working on my patriotic Bargello quilt again after all this time.  Woo hoo!!

I got the pieces out and ironed them all; now I am pinning and getting ready to sew them into tubes.  The next step will be to follow the pattern by cutting the tubes into certain widths and unsewing a spot on the top where each color is supposed to be in the top spot.

Sorry for the bad photo.  We have had 7 1/2 inches of rain in two days and it is still gray and overcast, threatening more rain!!  But I wanted to enter this into the Friday Finishes blogs.

I plan to donate this TV Throw to Surmounters, a Disabled Veterans charity where they work with Gypsy Horses in hand (no riding) to help them cope with their disabilities.  They get to pet them, brush them, some walk them around, some just talk to them.  Horses have such a calming effect for all people, and the Veterans sincerely appreciate that.

PAPER PUMPKIN REFILL - MAKING CARDS

HEY BLOGGIES,

Have you heard that this month is the third birthday of PAPER PUMPKIN?  It is, and to celebrate this birthday event, PAPER PUMPKIN will be in a special BLUE BOX as well as be a special kit for this month.

HOW CAN YOU GET IT YOU ASK?  Just sign up BEFORE MARCH 15th and you will be able to receive this special kit directly to your door.  As always it is a surprise what will be inside, but since it is a special birthday celebration, I am guessing it is going to be very VERY special.  They always include a stamp set, ink spots, paper, embellishments, card bases, instructions and so much more.

So, I signed up to get mine for this month and while I was there, I got FEBRUARY'S HELLO SUNSHINE PAPER PUMPKIN REFILL KIT.  It is all the paper, stickers, embellishments, die cuts and instructions.  NO stamp set or Ink, but that's ok.  I have plenty of those.  And you know what?  It was only $8!!!

So, without further ado, here is one of the cards I already made with this refill kit:

With spring almost upon us, I went with blooming wildflowers for my card.  I only inked up one word from my stamp "blooming" and put that on the die cut washi tape shape, and then found a "be" to put onto my tag shape die cut.

I used a few of the die cut leaf stickers from my kit and even used the "negative" parts for one of the leaves on the lower left.  I also used one of the negatives of the flower for that same spot.

The only other thing I added were some light yellow candy dots for the middle of some of the flowers as well as a pool party candy dot for the "BE" tag.

Hope you enjoyed my card made with this fun PAPER PUMPKIN REFILL KIT.  How economical is this!!  HERE IS THE CATCH - YOU MUST MUST BE A PAPER PUMPKIN SUBSCRIBER TO GET ANY REFILLS.  So that is why as soon as I signed up for the March Pumpkin, I purchased the February Refill.  I have been eyeing that kit since it came out last month, with those beautiful gold foil rose die cut stickers.  I will be showing a card using those next, so stay tuned!!

If you do not currently have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would love for you to click my signature below when you order your BIRTHDAY PAPER PUMPKIN KIT or any other supplies you need.

See you again in a few days!!!

OH, I ALMOST FORGOT:  I have made a Pinterest site using the FEBRUARY PAPER PUMPKIN for ALTERNATIVE IDEAS from all over the web to help you decide if you NEED that refill before they are all gone!!

BALLOON BIRTHDAY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

I am back!!  I am feeling much better and even felt like I needed to get a little creative.  So I made a birthday card for my granddaughter.  We have three birthdays this month so I will be back with two more cards in the next few days.

Isn't it just perfect for a little girl turning five?!!  The colors I used are hello honey, melon mambo and pink pirouette.  I used the new balloon punch and drew on the strings with my matching marker.  The stamp set is Endless Birthday Wishes.

This is the inside.  I used the Endless Birthday Wishes set again, as well as the smallest balloon from the Balloon Punch.  I also used the new candy dots from the Occasions Catalog and one sequin of unknown origin. (I found it lying on my desk!!)  grin.

One more look at this fun and happy card.  The Sunshine die cut is from Bohemian paper and the die is from SSS.

Thanks for stopping by!!  Hopefully I will have another card for you this week to enjoy.
