POSTAGE DUE stamp set is one of my favorite stamp sets. I like doing collages and this stamp set has one big collage and then lots of little items to add to it. This time I made my own collage by selecting portions of the larger stamp and cutting or punching them out.
For my background I first put a piece of First Edition DSP that has been stressed on the edges with the corners either torn or rolled up like an old letter. Then I used new SMOKY SLATE ink for the bicycle and the cancellation stamp and punched out the bike and cut out the cancellation.
As you can see, the collage is popped up with stampin dimensionals, even the stamps to give it some dimension and texture.
A final closeup look at the card. I love how the so SMOKY SLATE INK sponged on the crinkled stamps make them look real and old. I punched them out with the POSTAGE STAMP PUNCH to make them look real.
Hope you enjoyed my card. You can put whatever sentiment or greeting you want to inside for this card to be used for any occasion.
Thanks for stopping by. Stay creative my friends.
Jenny, this is a darling card! I wish my mom were still here, she loved cards especially hand-made ones. When she was first diagnosed with Alzheimer's my sisters and I would send cards because she also loved to check the mail. Some days she couldn't remember to eat but she never forgot to check the mail. As the Alzheimer's progressed, she would sit for hours holding a card or picture and looking at it again and again. It's amazing that something as simple as a card could soothe her worst days. She would have LOVED this one with the postage stamps and the aged look. Thanks for the sentimental moment....I'll go get a tissue now.
