QUILTS of 2015

May 2015:  A T-SHIRT QUILT FOR A COLLEGE GRADUATE

I have been working this month on this T-Shirt quilt for my college graduating granddaughter.  We are so very proud of her.  She is a "college Ninja" says her mom and dad!!  And she IS!!

The backing is a soft wonderful polar fleece.

April 2015 and UPDATE with FINISH.

I have been working all last month on a very special baby/toddler quilt for an upcoming Grandson who will be born in JULY!!  I know, isn't it amazing that I am all done except the binding and I am done BEFORE her due date??!!  It sure surprises me too, ha ha.  This was made with a large piece of fabric for the back and the borders and another piece for the binding.  The rest is from scraps that I just haphazardly put together to make the wonky log cabin blocks (that is what I am calling them).  No pattern here.  I just sewed it until it was big enough for the backing fabric and added a piece here and there to make it all fit.  I LOVED MAKING THIS QUILT.

Here is the front all pieced and I basted around the edge to get ready to put on the binding.

I flipped over the back so you can see the color scheme I was going for with this matching print.  I love how this is turning out and when I get the binding on, I will post the final photo before I mail it off to my daughter/"new mom-to-be".

UP DATE:  AND HERE IT IS ALL FINISHED, QUILTED AND BOUND - READY TO MAIL OUT!!

 I entered this quilt into

January 2015

I have finally made some quilts.  By the looks of my previous posts, looks like it has been two years!!  Wow!!  Well, I am glad I got involved in this service project with my sisters from church.  We are making lap quilts, baby blankets and twin blankets for our local Food Pantry and Supplies.  We each made 5 blankets over the last two times we were meeting, with sweet Pauline making many many more.  Here are some photos of the blankets:

We used flannel whole backing and different fabrics for the front.  Some we used a printed flannel for the front also.

We tied some, machine quilted some and the smallest receiving blankets we just stitched around the edge.

Someone put some adorable lace and strips of fabric on the back on this one before they tied it.  Really cute.  The turquoise one is flannel and the front is a gray print.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate it.
