PP97 and GLITTER QUEEN BLOG HOP....DAY TWO

WOW!!  WEREN'T THOSE PROJECTS AWESOME FROM ALL THE GLITTER QUEENS YESTERDAY??!!  I HAVE A FEW I WANT TO MAKE MYSELF.

I WANT TO THANK MY MANAGER, DAWN GRIFFITH, FOR STARTING OFF OUR BLOG HOP EACH DAY.  IT SURE IS FUN TO DO PROJECTS WHEN WE KNOW THAT LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE GOING TO VIEW THEM AND ENJOY THEM.

TODAY I HAVE ANOTHER FOLDING TECHNIQUE.  THIS TIME IT IS A CARD CALLED A DOUBLE GATE FOLD CARD.  AND I HAVE USED SOME NEW CATALOG ITEMS FOR YOU TO SEE!!  WOO HOO.
HERE IS THE CARD ALL FINISHED.  I USED THE NEW DSP FLORAL DISTRICT, (item #126919).  LOVE THE COLORS IN IT.  I ALSO USED A PIECE OF CARD STOCK IN THE NEW IN COLOR SUMMER STARFRUIT FOR THE INSIDE.  I USED SUMMER STARFRUIT AND PRIMROSE PETALS INKS FOR THE FLOWER AND PUNCHED IT WITH THE SCALLOP PUNCH AND THE 3/4" CIRCLE PUNCH FOR THE CENTER.

details:

  • 5-1/2" x 12" piece of Designer Series Paper (FLORAL DISTRICT DSP), Scored at 2", 4", 8", and 10" ON YOUR SIMPLY SCORED.
  • Turn and make a small mark at 2-3/4 on both ends
  • SUMMER STARFRUIT CARD STOCK  CUT AT 3 7/8" X 5 1/8".

HERE IT IS ALL SCORED AND FOLDED.

HERE IS A BIRD'S EYE VIEW LOOKING DOWN AT THE CARD ALL SCORED & FOLDED

THIS IS THE BACK SIDE OF MY DSP. THIS SIDE IS JUST AS PRETTY, ISN'T IT?  FROM THE 4" SCORE LINE DIAGONALLY TO THE MARK WE PUT ON EACH SIDE, YOU CUT OFF THE TRIANGLE IT CREATES WITH YOUR PAPER CUTTER.  CUT OFF BOTH SIDES AND SAVE THEM TO USE ON THE FRONT.

YOUR SUMMER STARFRUIT CARD STOCK PIECE WILL FIT INSIDE (3 7/8" X
5 1/8".)  HERE IS THE PHOTO OF THE CARD STOCK APPLIED INSIDE AND THE TWO TRIANGLES GLUED TO THE FRONT BOTTOM EDGES.

THIS IS A CLOSEUP SO YOU CAN SEE THE TRIANGLE PIECE AND HOW IT IS GLUED IN PLACE.

I ADDED ANOTHER STAMPED AND PUNCHED FLOWER FROM BUTTON BUDDIES STAMP SET ON THE INSIDE AS WELL.  I USED THE ROCK AND ROLL TECHNIQUE WITH PRIMROSE PETALS AND SUMMER STARFRUIT INK.  YOU CAN SEE THE CENTER IS PUNCHED WITH THE  3/4" CIRCLE PUNCH AND IS UP ON DIMENSIONALS.

NOW TO MAKE A PRETTY ENVELOPE TO GO WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL CARD.  TAKE A LARGE ENVELOPE AND SEAL IT UP.  THEN MEASURE WHERE YOUR CARD GOES AND CUT OFF THE REMAINDER OF THE ENVELOPE LEAVING 1/4" MORE THAN THE SIZE OF THE CARD.  MY CARD IS GOING TO FIT CROSSWISE IN THIS ENVELOPE.
NOW CUT A PIECE OF MATCHING DSP ABOUT 1 3/4" TO 2" WIDE BY THE LENGTH OF THE ENVELOPE.  PUT A SCORE LINE AT 3/4" AND FOLD.  PUT GOOD GLUE ON THE BACK OF THE SMALLER PIECE AND SLIDE IT INTO THE ENVELOPE TO ADHERE.  THIS WILL BE THE DECORATED FLAP.

I LIKE THE FLAP TO COME TO THE FRONT OF THE ENVELOPE, WHICH IS DIFFERENT FROM MOST ENVELOPES.  THAT IS BECAUSE I WANT IT TO SHOW UP PRETTY.

I USED MY RASPBERRY RIPPLE AND PRIMROSE PETALS MARKERS AND COLORED A FEW PETALS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DSP FLOWER ON THE FLAP. YOU CAN SEE THAT UNDER MY THUMB.

I LOVE HAVING A MATCHING ENVELOPE FOR MY SPECIALLY CREATED CARDS.

THE FLOWER STAMP IS FROM BUTTON BUDDIES AND MATCHES SO WELL TO THIS PAPER I THINK.  THE SCALLOP PUNCHED FLOWER IS ONLY ATTACHED TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE TWO FRONT FOLDS.  IT IS NOT ATTACHED TO THE RIGHT SIDE SO THAT IT CAN OPEN.

I HAVE BLOG CANDY TO GIVE AWAY.  MAKE SURE YOU ARE A FOLLOWER AND LEAVE ME A COMMENT TODAY AND ALL DAYS OF THIS BLOG HOP.  I WILL DRAW THE WINNER AFTER THE HOP IS OVER.

How funny is that. Here is something else that will make you smile I almost used the same paper as you. I picked the other one because my daughter likes purple. Your card is very pretty. I like the idea of the flower.
