QUILTS FOR KIDS

OUR FIRST MEETING OF OUR NEW QUILT GUILD - OFFICIAL NAME CHOSEN:

MORMON MAMMAS QUILT GUILD

I HAVE TO TELL YOU, WE HAD SO MUCH FUN THIS MORNING.  IN TWO HOURS WE GOT 3 FLIMSY TOPS DONE AND CUT OUT ONE MORE TO BE READY TO SEW NEXT WEEK.

HERE ARE SOME OF OUR CREW SHOWING WHAT WE CREATED:

HERE IS LEAH WHO STOOD IN AS OUR PROFESSIONAL SEAM PRESSER.  WE KEPT HER HOPPING AS WE COMPLETED EACH BLOCK AND THEN EACH ROW.  SHE DID AN AWESOME JOB KEEPING UP WITH THE SEWING MACHINES.

KRISTY IS HOLDING THE CUTEST BOYS QUILT WITH FROGS AND LIZARDS ON THE WHOLE BLOCKS TO GO ALONG WITH THE BLUE AND GREEN 4 PATCH BLOCKS.

I AM HOLDING THE CUTE LITTLE PINK SCOOTERS ON THE SOLID BLOCK TO GO WITH THE 4 PATCHES OF PINK AND ORANGE.

SHANNA IS SHOWING THE KITTY CAT FACES ON BLUE FABRIC TO GO WITH THE 4 PATCHES OF ORANGE AND LIME.

NEXT WEEK WE ARE PUTTING THE TWO BORDERS ON AND THEN MACHINE QUILTING THEM.

STAY TUNED FOR THE FINISHED PHOTOS AND MORE PHOTOS OF THE OTHER QUILTS WE MAKE TOGETHER.

IF YOU ARE LOCAL, COME JOIN THE FUN NEXT THURSDAY MORNING AT 9:30 AT OUR LDS CHURCH ON BRANCH CROSSING DRIVE IN THE WOODLANDS.  BRING YOUR MACHINE AND ANY DONATIONS OF COTTON FABRIC OR BATTING.

THESE QUILTS ARE GOING TO HOSPITALS TO BE GIVEN TO KIDS WHO NEED SURGERY, ETC.

  2. Oh this is so wonderful! If you could use a donation please let me know. I was hospitalized when I was 3 years old for two weeks! Back then, parents didn't stay with their children. I sure could have used a comforting quilt. This is just a lovely idea!

    Hugs,
    Chriss

  4. Great job all of you! I did confused for a moment because I don't often see the name "shanna" especially for another blogger/quilter in Texas. I thought, "wait, I wasn't there..." Lol. Be sure to show the pictures for the next round as well!
