BIRTHDAY NOTE CARDS

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I want to show you a set of blank cards I made for a friend of mine who loves German Shepherd Dogs (GSD) and is a foster and rescuer for them also.  It is her birthday.

I made this small set of blank cards for her to use any way she wants -- as thank you cards, thinking about you cards, happy birthday cards, etc.  She gets to choose how to use them.

I created the dog art with a water pen and inks.  Then I layered them onto colored cardstock and VOILA!!

Some I layered the watercolor paper onto the cardstock directly.  On others I cut around the image and layered that onto the colored cardstock.

I really like the contrast between the dark cardstock and the watercolor water when the image is fussy cut out.

Each is a bit different since they are hand drawn.  I think it is like dogs themselves...they look similar but each is an original.  :-)

The container for the cards is made from a 12 x 12 piece of designer paper that I folded into the size I needed.  Then I added a ribbon to secure this little gift.

Oh, did I mention I found a German Shepherd Dog pen to go with this set??!!  It finished this set off perfectly!!

Thank you for stopping by. I am working on two more birthday presents for family members and will post them when completed.

p.s. My SU order site is currently down, but you can place an order at the main website:

OR telephone and place an order at:

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

HEY BLOGGIES,

In the spirit of Christmas, I want to tell you how important Christ is to me.  I did not know Christ or Heavenly Father was actually real until I was 19 years old!!  I always prayed to them, but never did I get any confirmation that they were there and listening.  Never felt the Holy Ghost. Didn't even think I would feel anything.

At age 19 I decided there had to be more about life and I was going to discover it.  I searched for two years by attending different churches and by talking with just about everyone I met regarding their thoughts about God, Jesus Christ, higher powers, Holy Ghost, etc.  TWO YEARS searching, studying and discussing and I had not found what I was looking for.   Then one Sunday when I attended a new church from the list of all those in a wide area around me, I was approached by a member and we talked a little bit.  Long story short, I joined this church at age 21 and have still continued to study, pray and learn about my Heavenly Father, my savior Jesus Christ and how I can have an eternal family.

In this light, this week my husband's father passed away.  We of course are very sad to be here without him now, but our knowledge in GOD, JESUS CHRIST and that families can be eternal is helping us cope with this loss,  The knowledge that we can see him again brings peace in this time of sorrow.

I want to tell you my thoughts on all of this: God, or Heavenly Father is REAL; He LIVES and loves each one of us.  He listens to our prayers, when we cry out in anguish, when we are full of joy and tell him how grateful we are.  He sent his only begotten son, JESUS CHRIST, at atone for all our sins, shortcomings, foibles, etc. so that we might come back to live with them again once we leave this earth.  We will be with them and with our families and will be so joyous and happy.  The Hymn, JOY TO THE WORLD describes exactly what God sent to us when Jesus was born.  He sent us the JOY that a Savior was now born and the graves will have to give up their dead so we can live for eternity with HIM and our loved ones.

Thank you for reading through this.  If you would like any other information about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, you can reply to this message or you can go to Mormon.org and learn more there.

HAVE A MERRY, JOYFUL CHRISTMAS.

HAPPY HARVEST

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have the cutest CUTEST stamp set from LAWN FAWN to share with you today.  Everything about this set just warms my heart - the scarecrow, the cute birds, the pumpkins and corn stalks, and the mini leaves.

I also used the stitched STORYBOOK 1 DIES by PRETTY PINK POSH.  I love how it frames the colored images with stitches, don't you?

Thanks for stopping by.  I am entering this in SSS WEDNESDAY CHALLENGE:  ANYTHING GOES.

HALLOWEEN TREAT HOLDER - "IF THE SHOE FITS..."

HEY BLOGGIES,

I made a whole batch of these cute witches shoes as a treat holder for the kids in my neighborhood as well as my grandkids.
Even though you cannot purchase this bigz die through Stampin' Up!, I still use it every year because there has been nothing I have seen to replace it.  It is really a Christmas stocking die, but with the circle here for the toe and a circle punch to shape it, then a heel there attached and the height of the stocking shortened, you have a perfect witches shoe.  As they, IF THE SHOE FITS...

There are several warehouse stores on line that sell older or discontinued Sizzix dies, so if you want this die, I would suggest you look there.

I used the word window punch for the latches on the shoe and the stop of the stocking die in DSP for the cuff.

Hope you enjoyed my little Halloween Treat Holder.  Those are two mini KitKats, FYI.  Have you tried the WHITE CHOCOLATE KITKATS and the DARK CHOCOLATE KITKATS yet?

Happy Halloween

PIANO KEYS BIRTHDAY CARD - CASE

HEY BLOGGIES,

Fellow Demo and Blogger, Tammy White, featured this card a day or so ago and I knew I HAD to create one for my stepson's birthday.  Thanks, Tammy!!

I am sorry sorry for the photos.  I am having serious problems with my camera on my phone.  The brushed gold card stock and the gold embossing just isn't showing up as bright and wonderful as it really is!!

Even with a close up of the embossed Happy Birthday, it just doesn't show up very well. Sorry.

Of course, inside we put a nice Visa gift card as his present.  The keys of the piano are 1/2" strips, and I created the ends of the black keys with a square punch "en pointe".

Thanks for stopping by!!

SIMON SAYS STAMP WATER COLOR DIGITAL PRINTS

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have been enjoying water coloring digital prints and found a nice little card front size pack at Simon Says Stamp.  I colored two and make them into cards:

The photos dont show the shine I put with some glitter and glimmer pens.  But I am very happy with the colors.  I attached to a bright yellow card base.

I love the multi-sized candy dots that I got in one of my SSS card kits.  The red and yellow are perfect for this card.

The purple and the yellow are glimmered with a glimmer pen.  I really love this one in person.  It is so bright and it catches your eye.  I attached to a blue card base.

Thanks for stopping by.

ANOTHER CHARITY BABY QUILT

HEY BLOGGIES,

Another finished CHARITY QUILT.  This baby quilt is being donated to SURMOUNTERS OF TEXAS, the Horse-based therapy program for Military with PTSD, brain injury or other injuries.  It takes place at a beautiful ranch in Burleson with more than 35 Gypsy Horses for the attendees to brush, walk and pet.  No riding, it is all "in hand".  They are having an event in Ft Worth for fun and to raise funds for this program, along with silent auctions, etc.

Here is the quilt:

I had scraps left over from the baby quilt I made for my newest grandson last year.  I loved the colors and just added a bit more so I could make another one.  I love the prints and how well the colors go together, don't you?

It is a wacky log cabin block quilt with two solids inserted because I ran out of the fabrics.

Hope you enjoyed this fun bright quilt.    Thanks for visiting.
