PATRIOTIC TIMES

I LOVE INDEPENDENCE DAY AND ALL THE RED, WHITE AND BLUE.  I love America and enjoy Americana decor.  Therefore, this patriotic decor item I made is just what I need for these next couple of weeks!!

Two decorated flower vases with flags in them.  I am going to purchase some red, white and blue carnations to go inside them as we get closer to Independence day.  The one on the left with the yellow star says "FOR YOU".  I am giving it away at my card class tonight.  I didn't like how much the vase shows on that one because it is a bit short, so I made a taller one on the right.

Here is the first one I made, a bit short for the vase.  I thought I could find a shorter vase, but have not been able to locate one.  I think with flowers and maybe even some greenery it will be fine though, don't you think?

The shreds of blue paper are just to fill in a bit until I purchase the carnations.

This is the second one I made and it is the full 8 1/2" width of paper in height.  You just score every 1/2" and then fold them in and out to make a star.  The hardest part is adhering a star at the bottom to keep its shape. You stamp however you want to make it look patriotic.  I chose to make the vase covers look like flags themselves.

Hope you enjoyed my patriotic decor.  Thanks for stopping by.
Here's to the red, white and blue!!

HOME DECO WREATH WITH STAMPIN' UP!

Hey my bloggie friends,

I have been "making" the wreath for 3 months and finally sat down and created it today.  My daughter gave me the cute little bird nests for my birthday in January.  The chipboard letters are SU, as well as the inks I sponged on them.

The flowers are cut with my Big Shot and flower die and I used the packing material from shipments from SU as the paper I cut out for the flowers.  I spritzed the whole wreath with my spritzer and the pearl shimmer spray and baja breeze reinkers.

The chipboard letters are sponged with crisp cantaloupe, crumb cake, pistachio pudding, and pool party.  I then punched holes for the twine with my Crop-a-dile.

It is hanging on my front door and I LOVE how it looks.  The flowers are so easy to make with my big shot and a flower die.  I spritzed them and then crumbled them until dry.

This photo looks like a different color because the flash did not go off.  I love how the different colors on the NATURE shows up.

Here is a close up of the flowers and the letters.

Here is the other side of the wreath so you can see it better.  So sad the shimmer is not showing up, but it is there.

What have YOU made for your home with Stampin' Up! supplies?

Thanks for stopping by.  Won't you leave me a comment?  I would love to hear from you.
