ANOTHER HELLO CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

How are you today?  I have another fun HELLO card for you.   Like the one I shared yesterday, I started with a part that this time comes from one of the Project Life kits and accessories.  I liked that it had an oval in the middle that did NOT have any printing on it so I could ink it up before I attached my die cut HELLO,

I adhered the Project Life Card onto a  standard folded card of Cajun Craze card stock.  I then used a sponge and put some greens and a bit of yello to make the background inside the oval unprinted part of the Card.  I used an adorable Simon Says Stamp HELLO die that has an outline with it.  The outline is whisper white and the word itself is from a stenciled print I did a long time ago and have been using it for my die cuts.  It was made with a geometric stencil where I used versamark and clear embossing powder.  THEN I sponged colors across the paper and have since used sections of it for die cuts, backgrounds, borders, etc.  LOVE IT

On the inside I put a piece of whisper white and then two little slices off the Project Life card front (cut off so the Cajun Craze base would show behind it).  I glued these slices as a border.

And here is one more look at the card front.  If you look closely, you can see the gems and sequins I adhered onto the front for a small amount of bling.

Thanks for visiting.  See you next time I make some cards!!

HELLO card with stamps and dies

HEY BLOGGIES,

More rain again today.  Booooo...    I am wishing for clear blue skies, light breezes and dry, firm ground in the pastures.

In the meantime, I made some cards this weekend that I would like to share with you.

I used the card bases from My Paper Pumpkin.  I then used TIMELESS TEXTURES stamps to add more color to my card base with marina mist and crushed curry.  I also used my triple corner punch for the lovely little addition in the bottom two corners.

I punched out of marina mist a tag with my Tag punch and inked the edges before adhering a Simon Says Stamp HELLO die.  I added some cute yellow ribbon and adhered the tag onto the card with Stampin Dimensionals.

I think this is a clean and simple card and I am thrilled with the results of my design. I will share another one tomorrow with similar ideas.  Come on back to visit.

Hope you enjoyed this card.  If you have any questions, let me know.

WATERCOLOR CLASS

HEY BLOGGIES,

I took an online watercolor class this week and I learned SO MUCH.  It was a worthwhile class that I would recommend.  We learned about so many different watercolor mediums - powders, pencils, reinkers, cakes, markers and so much more.

Here is a card I made from the background video in the class:

The white area on the bottom left is NOT a flash reflection.  It is the watercolor paper that I left plain.  I used blues and a green ink with lots of water to create this beautiful background.

This embellishment is a stamped feather with mixed blues on the stamp.

I used dies and black card stock for the BE HAPPY and the circles.  Hope you enjoyed this watercolor card.

I have entered this card at SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY.

MY BIG SHOT & DIE CUT FALL WREATH

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have another 'FLASH BACK" POST  to share with you today.  With a new leaf set out in our Holiday Catalog  AND thinlet dies, I thought I would share the one I made two years ago and is on my door starting this weekend:

http://txjennywren.blogspot.com/2013/10/fall-paper-wreath-look-on-page-185-of.html

I also wanted to share a photo to entice you to see this previous post above.

I chose to use mostly solid cardstock here and then I used my woodgrain embossing folder to create the texture, pattern.

Here is the wreath my friend, Karen P. made at our wreath class.  She used patterned papers in the darker browns and oranges with a touch of green.  She even created a banner to attach with painted clothes pins.  Very nice Karen.

Thanks for stopping by.  If you have any questions, let me know.

JEWEL THE DOG AND OUR LITTLE FROGS

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have a story for you.  Jewel is my little Pomeranian who is LOVING it out here in the country.  She has a very good nose and LOVES to smell what has been in our yard overnight. She barks when she comes across some wild smell and then chases along the smell trail to show us where it went.

She loves to chase bunnies out of our yard when she spots them.  But the thing she enjoys finding are...FROGS.  She is my FROGGIE DOGGIE.  hee hee

We have these little brown frogs that are the color of dirt.  They are the size of tree frogs, but they are dark brown.  I have no idea what kind they are, but we have a lot of them, especially after a rain.  Jewel loves them.  If she sees one move in the grass, she wags her tail and then sniffs around and follows them as they try to hop away from her.

Sometimes she wants to move the frog out of the grass so she can see it better.  She picks it up in her mouth and moves it and of course when she puts it down, it is dead.  She doesn't understand why it won't hop anymore and she pushes it with her nose to try to get it to hop again.  Poor froggie.  Luckily she doesn't feel the need to move them too often.

Anyways, I thought about my froggie doggie and her little brown buddies when I made this card.  However, I did go with the normal greens for these frogs:

I saw a design similar to this on Pinterest and knew I had to make a birthday card with these little guys.  Aren't they absolutely adorable??  L.O.V.E.  them!! The stamp set is YOU'RE SUBLIME.

Inside I used my little letters dies and wrote:  TOADALLY.

I think it is a fun and funny birthday card.  Hope you do too.

My sketch is what we are using this week at SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY.  Here it is:
You can make your four objects as small or as large as you want.  Have fun and let's see what you create.

INLAID DIE CUT BALLOONS BIRTHDAY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

I made a very special birthday card for a very special girl for her 12th birthday.

I used some fun new items I purchased on line.  These balloon die cuts are just the perfect shaped balloon I have seen.  I LOVE THEM.  I die cut them out, colored them with my sponge dauber and inks to blend, then added Wink of Stella on top before gluing them back into their negative image.

The stamp set included these fun balloon string sentiments to trail below the string.

Here is a close up of the balloons and the pretty shine from the Wink of Stella.  Also, look how pretty these sequins are!!

One more look at the finished card.

Happy Birthday Lily!!

NO LINE COLORING SINGLE BLOOM

Hey Bloggies,

Sorry I forgot to post this for this morning.  Hope those of you that came early have come back to see the post.

Here is the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY SKETCH from Elizabeth K:

I also used the sketch and challenge from FRIDAY MASHUP #190 and their Color Challenge #45:

I call this NO LINE WATER COLORING because I used the same color for the outline of the stamp as I did for the coloring.  It gives it a wonderful 3=D effect.

I used my cherry cobbler ink for the stamp outline, then used cherry cobbler Blendabilities for my coloring.

This up close view lets you see how 3=D it really looks.  The lightest parts of the few petals was created with the color remover.

I used the flesh-tones Blendabilities, old olive Blendabilities and daffodil delight Blendabilities for the inside stamens and middle of the flower.  I used  several watercolor marker colors for the splatters.

Thanks for stopping by.

FRAMED VALENTINE LOVE

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have a beautiful framed VALENTINE HEART for you today.  Every year I show this beautiful home decor item I created.  Everyone who sees it loves it and wants to know how to make it.

This frame came with the word LOVE on the matting.  It is a slight shadowbox frame.  I added a piece of whisper white card stock with the scalloped large heart die cut out.  The another white layer with the largest regular heart die cut out.

The heart was made by taking small squares and folding them in half and gluing them starting at the middle and working around each layer bigger and bigger.  When you have glued enough to fit behind the die cut heart "hole" you are finished.

Thanks for stopping by.  If you have any questions, let me know.  If you make one, I would love to see it.

SHAPED BIRTHDAY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

By now everyone knows how much I   L.O.V.E. my Big Shot machine.  There are so many different things you can use it for and I love every last one of them!!  Today I used it with my circle framelits to create a round shaped birthday card:

I put the circle framelit just a little bit above the fold of a piece of card stock and cut it with the Big Shot.  I then created my own piece of background paper with watercolor paper and an embossing folder and some inks and cut it with my Starburst framelit.

I used it one more time on this card by using the Happy Birthday thinlit die and some black card stock and ran it through the Big Shot to create my sentiment.  I also used my build a cupcake punch and used the candles outside while the cupcake was used inside.  Added a few star sequins and VOILA a great shaped birthday card.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  I appreciate your visits.  See you again in a few days with another fun creation.

CURVY KEEPSAKE BOX GIFT

HEY BLOGGIES,

Sorry I have been missing in action for a week or so.  We got our horses and I have been very busy feeding, brushing, bonding with them.  Also scooping the poopies is an every other day job.  We are trying to stay ahead of it so it doesn't pile up (pun intended).

Anyways, I finally got my head above water on all the horse chores and created some fun curvy keepsake boxes with my Sizzix BIG SHOT and the CURVY KEEPSAKE THINLITS DIES.  I also used my mittens punch for the cute ties.

I made 4 of them to give to 4 friends I visited today.  I used the snowflake embossing folder to add a little winter decoration and the ribbon tie has mittens on each end.  REMEMBER WHEN WE WERE LITTLE AND OUR MITTENS WERE ON THE ENDS OF A KNITTED ROPE THAT WENT UP OUR SLEEVES TO KEEP US FROM LOOSING THE MITTENS?

The mittens have a little color on the fingers part to match the color of the box.
But on these mittens, my friend Tammy heat embossed silver cuffs and there was some silver and pink embossing on the mittens with some sprinkles embedded in the embossing.  But no matter what I did, the flash flooded out the details.  So sad about that because they are so stinkin' cute!!

One more look at three of them with the embossed mittens in the middle.  See, they still don't show up the details!!  grrrr

Anyways, I am sure you want to know what I gave inside, don't you?  Well, I made some yummy FUDGE with walnuts and cut the pieces very small.  I used small plastic baggies to hold the pieces of fudge inside before I closed up the boxes.  YUMMMMM

Thanks for stopping by.  I would love to see what YOU have made with your curvy keepsakes box dies.  Won't you share with me what you have created?

Feathers Card with Stamp Set with Matching Dies

Hey Bloggers,

For SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY, I followed the sketch below:

I saw a card at D, Vich's  blog, a fellow demonstrator with Stamping Up and  I immediately knew I had to make one with my own touches:

I  used my Big Shot machine and both the circle dies as well as a Starburst die.  I also used a Thanks die. The Four Feathers stamp set and versamark ink were used with white embossing powder on one feather and Platinum embossing powder on the other.  I then stamped and die cut with the Four Feathers die set the smaller feather and also die cut out a black card stock smaller feather for the layer behind it.  I believe it added the look of dimension by putting the black under the crumb cake feather as a shadow, don't you?

Crumb Cake, basic black, basic grey and Smoky slate card stocks and inks by SU were used.

Thank you for visiting my blog. This thank you card is my gift to each order over $25.00 this month of November,
