GATE FOLD BIRTHDAY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Whew, we are just trying now to dry up and blow away here in central Texas.  It has been 100* here this week and is not going away any time soon.  We are putting out a sprinkler for our horses each afternoon to give them a chance to cool off if they want to.  Several days they chose to let it get them wet and today they chose not to.  But at least it is there if they need it.  AND it waters the grass at the same time.

I told my hubby that it is too hot.  How hot is it?  I said it is so hot that the boys (my male horses) are too hot to try to be naughty!!  hee hee  Being naughty is my interpretation when they are bored and start looking for something to get into that they should NOT be into - like my canna plants or my pear tree.  Evidently those taste very good when you are feeling frisky!

Anyways, on to my card for this week.  I have made a gate fold birthday card using Sprinkles of Life and Bohemian DSP.

My gate fold card has two overlapping pieces.  The cupcake is adhered on the left and the sentiment is adhered on the right.   Coastal cabana card stock is one of the colors that coordinates with our Bohemian DSP.  I used white and coastal cabana as the two coordinating colors of the patterned paper I chose from this pack.

A closeup of my stamped images layered with coastal cabana cs and decorative label punch or circle punches.  I fussy cut the cupcake pieces. Cherry red square sequins adorn the sentiment piece.

The cherry on top with the small square sequin is covered with glossy accents.

I am entering my card in Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge.  Pop over to see the other design team members.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BALLOONS CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

I am a bit late for posting my Sketch Frenzy Friday card for this week.  Here it is without further ado:

I used the Balloon Dies to cut out the designer paper and backed it with whisper white.  The card base is bermuda bay and so is the ink. I put the speckles on the balloons with markers in the colors of bermuda bay, delightful dijon and rose red, and a sprayer.

Here was the sketch I worked from:

BOHEMIAN PATTERNED PAPER AND A DRAGONFLY

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I have a card that made me stretch out of my norm.  It is a very simple card, just not the kind of card I usually make.  I used the sketch from SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY to create my card.  Here it is:

The strips are what was so hard for me because it is not something I would usually do.  But that is what's so fun about sketch challenges, isn't it?  To try something new.  I am so glad I did this card from the sketch.

The adorable dragonfly silver charm on the blackboard tag is my favorite thing on this card.  I was going to stamp the dragonfly from the Awesomely Artistic, but one of my team mates already did that so I had to change midstream to something different.  I still went with the dragonfly, but did a silver charm attached to a blackboard tag instead.  How is that for AWESOMELY ARTISTIC!!

Thanks for visiting my blog.  Stop over at SFF to see the other entries.

BOHEMIAN BORDERS SYMPATHY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Hope you are all doing well.  We have some joy in our family this week:  our 8th Grandchild was born this week!!  A sweet tiny little boy named Levi.  How such a tiny thing can wiggle into your heart so quickly is a mystery.  But I feel such love for him already!!

Today I have an idea for a different way to use Bohemian Borders stamp set.  I made it into a flower-type of shape.  Enjoy:

There was a death in the family this week so I made this sympathy for the son of the deceased.  I feel like the colors make it a good card for a man.  But mostly it will be the letter I will write inside that will be the most important part of this card.

The very small layers behind the stamped layer is from the Bohemian DSP.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

I am entering this at Sketch Frenzy Friday.  Thanks for stopping by.

SHAKER CARD WITH SPRINKLES OF LIFE

HEY BLOGGIES,

Believe it or not I have NEVER made a shaker card!!  But today I have one to share with you and it was fun and easy to create.

I used Watermelon Wonder, the new In Color.  The oval behind the shaker is Mint Macaron, also a new In Color.

The stamp set Sprinkles of Life stamp set is a Charity Set that Stampin' Up! donates $3.00 to the Ronald MacDonald House Project for each set that is sold.  It also has a matching Tree Punch that punches out the icing, cherry, a tree, leaves and a few other things all on one punch.

I used my Oval Framelits to cut out the border around the window, as well as the window and the sticky fun foam I used as my frame on the back of the front panel to put the sequins inside.  Sticky fun foam can be obtained at most of your craft stores.  I used two layers stuck together.

I am entering this (a bit late) at the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY challenge.  Pop over there to see what the other design team members have created, won't you?

I also am entering this is the ALOHA FRIDAY CHALLENGE:  BIRTHDAY.

Thanks for stopping by!!

BALLOONS AND BANNERS BIRTHDAY CARD FOR THREE CHALLENGES

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have a cute cute cute birthday card following sketches/challenges from three blogs this week.

1.  Sketch Frenzy Friday

3.  Just Add Ink Sketch:

Banners and Balloons are two of my favorite things for birthdays!!    I saw this card idea on Pinterest by Nicole T, a fellow demo.  I changed up the colors a bit to make it different.  Thanks, Nicole!!

Endless Birthday Wishes is the photopolymer stamp set I used.  And the bitty banner punch as well as the small star punch was used.

I used versamark and irridescent ice embossing powder for the Celebrate sentiment inside.  It is hard to tell in this photo, but it is very sparkly!!

I used Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon for the colors. I used my aqua marker to paint the ink on the birthday cake and to shade it.

I am enjoying this stamp set very much and so happy it is in the new Stampin' Up! catalog for another year!!  WOO HOO.

Thanks for stopping by.  Check out each challenge to see more wonderful cards from their challenge, won't you?

PAPER PIECING THREE DIMENSIONAL FLOWER CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

I am so happy to have a fun NEW kind of card for you today.  May has been a crazy month for us so far, but I just NEEDED to squeeze in a bit of FUN TIME to make some cards.
Soft Sky and Sahara Sand are the two card stocks I used, plus very vanilla is the card stock I stamped on and colored for the flower.

Bloom With Hope by Stampin' Up! was my stamp set of choice for this card.  I stamped it several times and colored them, then cut them into layers and popped them up to make them three dimensional.  I hope it shows up in the photo for you to see how I have the layers.

The vellum with little stars is a piece I am recycling from something else I received a long time ago.  I knew one day I would find a place to use it.  I love to have this little "lagnappe" or special surprise when I am making cards -- recycling is a GREAT IDEA for me!!

One more look at the finished card.  It is bleak, dark and very very rainy here in Texas, and has been for AT LEAST A WEEK.  We are starting to flood all over the place and the creeks have come up over their banks from so much rain!!

I used this sketch from SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY for my card.  Why don't you make a card too using this sketch?

Thanks for stopping by.  Come back and visit again, won't you?

With a little stretch here and a flip there, here is my card:

Showing you two different ones I made.  Not very different, but with the Moonlight DSP, the colors are a bit different on that patterned paper.

I have one closed and one open with the top flap closed down so you can see how these open.  The inside part is layered so we can either stamp a sentiment or write a message.  CUTENESS, right??!!

Here it is this time with the top flap open and the bottom "doors" closed so you can again see the whole schematics of this cute and fun folding card.

If you would like directions, just let me know.

Remember, when you order from me this month, use the hostess code  UHKUEVVP   and you will be entered into prize drawings at the end of the month.  I will notify you of what you win.  AND I always send a nice thank you card that is blank so you can reuse it if you like.  This month I am also sending the directions with it so you can make more!!

FLAMINGO LINGO

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I have a card I made for the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY challenge.  It is also MY sketch we are working off of today:

And here is my card made with the sketch:

I used whisper white, basic black, pool party for the card stock colors.

Petite petal punch to punch out the flower, which is part of the Flamingo Lingo stamp set.  Oval Framelets sponged.  And the Lovely Amazing You photopolymer set for the cute feathers.  The flamingo and feathers are fussy cut and put up on Stampin' Dimensionals to pop off the card.

Thanks for stopping by.  Did I mention if you purchase the Flamingo Lingo stamp set then Stampin' Up! donates to the Ronald McDonald house a portion of the price?  Fun stamp and doing something worthwhile all at the same time!!  WIN=-=WIN SITUATION FOR SURE!

SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Where did this week go??  I have been a bit under the weather for a few days and before I knew it - BAM it's Friday again!

Here is the sketch for this week from SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY:

This is my card using this sketch:

I used the Petite Petals stamp set and the matching punch for my flowers.  I used my aqua painter and daffodil delight ink to lightly color the flowers.  The Butterfly Basics stamp set and mini butterfly punch created the little butterfly.

I thought the three hexagon punched shapes suggested bees, which I LOVE to see in my garden.  The Geometrical stamp set was used  for the outline of the hexagon that the butterfly is perched upon.

This is the inside of my card kept very simple with just two different washi tape pieces at the bottom, ready for the note to be handwritten to the recipient.

One last look.  I do so love black, white and yellow together, don't you?

Thanks for stopping by.  Hop on over to Sketch Frenzy Friday to see what my design team mates have created.
