FALL CARD - GIVE THANKS FOR THE COOLER WEATHER!!

HEY BLOGGIES,

We have had a bit of "cooler" weather.  That translates to LESS THAN 100 degrees in the day and gets WAY DOWN to the low 80 degrees at night.  But for us here in central Texas, that IS COOLER.  hee hee

Today I have a fall card, the first one of the season for me.  I LOVE fall colors--oranges, yellows and golds, browns.  I added just a touch of some Halloween Candy Corn paper in the background because I wanted to give it a bit of whimsy.

Pumpkin pie and black card stock were used with a kraft tag.  I sponged soft suede, pumpkin pie, always artichoke and hello honey ink onto the tag before I attached some die cut leaves and the pumpkin, which were stamped first onto DSP.

This closeup of the tag shows my sponging and rock-n-roll inked images stamped.  I drew the pumpkin vines with the fine tip of my Stampin' Write Marker.  The Give Thanks sentiment is from Good Greetings.

Some bakers twine was added to the top of the tag and a black layer behind the card front was added.  I cut the corners of the card to match the top corners of my tag embellishment.

Here is the sketch from SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY I used to make my card:

SEA STREET HELLO CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

I made a little "pun" with some different sentiments to go along with the popular saying, "Well, Hello There!!"  But since I used the designer paper with a nice big whale, I created the sentiment:  "Whale...Hello My Friend"

Here is the sketch I worked with from SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY created by KIM:

And here is my card:

I used the retired DSP Maritime that is really most of my card.  I used a word here and there to create my sentiment from several different sets and embossed with white embossing powder.  The line of marine flags can either be cut from the DSP or you can use the stamp from SEA STREET to create it.

I used the circle framelits to cut out the whale from the DSP, and then used the next largest one to create the thin background strip behind it.

I also entered this card in THE PAPER PLAYERS SIMPLE challenge of the Beach.

Hope you have enjoyed my simple and fun card.  Won't you leave me a comment or some "blog loving"?

Come back again soon to visit.

WATER COLORING AND SPRITZING POWDERS WITH WATER

HEY BLOGGIES,

An interesting title on my blog today, eh?  My friend has some new toys so she showed me some new techniques (new to me).  We did some water coloring but not the usual way.  She had powdered watercolor pigment.  She wet the water color paper with a spritzer and then sprinkled the pigments onto the wet paper and gave it another spritz.  It was amazing how vibrant the colors came out.  Want to see?  Here is the first card made with this technique.

Aren't the colors fab??  Oh, one more technique I forgot to tell you about.  You know how you can put a piece of waxed paper between the die and your card stock?  Well, she took the die cut waxed paper and ironed it onto the watercolor paper BEFORE she wet it and added the powders.  Then after the colors were dry, she used her heat gun to gently lift the waxed paper off.  Voila - a waxed resist.  Cool, huh?

I trimmed the watercolor piece and then added a thin white layer behind that only shows from the top and bottom of the top fold card.  Don't the colors just make you want to dive into this deep pool of cool, beautiful water?

I added a few clear moonstones as the final touch.

Come back tomorrow and I will show you another card with the same techniques....I am on a ROLL.

Entered this card at SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY and CASE THIS SKETCH and CASOLOGY.

SEA STREET CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have a fun card made with SEA STREET stamp set:
I used bermuda bay for the main color.  I stamped the school of fish all over for my bottom background paper.

I made a tag with the tag topper punch and doodled with my black marker around it.  I put some resin star fish on it and attached it.

I stamped the three star fish and punched them out and added a layer punched behind and put them onto a starburst die cut black piece.

All made with Stampin' Up! except the resin starfish.

Thanks for stopping by.  This is for the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY CHALLENGE.

BOHEMIAN PATTERNED PAPER AND A DRAGONFLY

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I have a card that made me stretch out of my norm.  It is a very simple card, just not the kind of card I usually make.  I used the sketch from SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY to create my card.  Here it is:

The strips are what was so hard for me because it is not something I would usually do.  But that is what's so fun about sketch challenges, isn't it?  To try something new.  I am so glad I did this card from the sketch.

The adorable dragonfly silver charm on the blackboard tag is my favorite thing on this card.  I was going to stamp the dragonfly from the Awesomely Artistic, but one of my team mates already did that so I had to change midstream to something different.  I still went with the dragonfly, but did a silver charm attached to a blackboard tag instead.  How is that for AWESOMELY ARTISTIC!!

Thanks for visiting my blog.  Stop over at SFF to see the other entries.

HEY BLOGGIES,

I made some more of my FAVORITE kind of fold cards - the DOUBLE DUTCH FUN FOLD.  At least that is what I call it!!  I made them as my THANK YOU card for all those who order from me this month (April).  AND I send the DIRECTIONS with the card so you can make them too!!

I also made some that I posted before and you can see them HERE.

I made them also for my SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY challenge. Here is the sketch to follow:

AND
Here is the sketch from JUST ADD INK that it follows as well:

With a little stretch here and a flip there, here is my card:

Showing you two different ones I made.  Not very different, but with the Moonlight DSP, the colors are a bit different on that patterned paper.

I have one closed and one open with the top flap closed down so you can see how these open.  The inside part is layered so we can either stamp a sentiment or write a message.  CUTENESS, right??!!

Here it is this time with the top flap open and the bottom "doors" closed so you can again see the whole schematics of this cute and fun folding card.

If you would like directions, just let me know.

Remember, when you order from me this month, use the hostess code  UHKUEVVP   and you will be entered into prize drawings at the end of the month.  I will notify you of what you win.  AND I always send a nice thank you card that is blank so you can reuse it if you like.  This month I am also sending the directions with it so you can make more!!

Thanks for stopping by.

NO LINE COLORING SINGLE BLOOM

Hey Bloggies,

Sorry I forgot to post this for this morning.  Hope those of you that came early have come back to see the post.

Here is the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY SKETCH from Elizabeth K:

I also used the sketch and challenge from FRIDAY MASHUP #190 and their Color Challenge #45:

I call this NO LINE WATER COLORING because I used the same color for the outline of the stamp as I did for the coloring.  It gives it a wonderful 3=D effect.

I used my cherry cobbler ink for the stamp outline, then used cherry cobbler Blendabilities for my coloring.

This up close view lets you see how 3=D it really looks.  The lightest parts of the few petals was created with the color remover.

I used the flesh-tones Blendabilities, old olive Blendabilities and daffodil delight Blendabilities for the inside stamens and middle of the flower.  I used  several watercolor marker colors for the splatters.

Thanks for stopping by.

MASCULINE BIRTHDAY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I have a masculine birthday card.  Marina Mist, Bermuda Bay, and Crushed Curry are the colors I chose.

I used the banner punch and some DSP to make the banners along the bottom.  A thin strip of Crushed Curry card stock above that.  Starburst Sayings and coordinating dies for the sentiment and matching ribbon behind it. The final touch is 5 very tiny very adorable yellow heart sequins on the arrow embossed white background.

UPDATE:  I noticed that my banners were crooked, so I redid this card and here is the updated version below:

So here it is updated and straightened out.  I thought it needed some yellow banners so I put two yellow patterned DSP banners on the bottom.I think it adds that little something it needed.  I also put a yellow candy dot in the "O" for yellow.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I sincerely appreciate your support.  This card is entered at SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY.

Feathers Card with Stamp Set with Matching Dies

Hey Bloggers,

For SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY, I followed the sketch below:

I saw a card at D, Vich's  blog, a fellow demonstrator with Stamping Up and  I immediately knew I had to make one with my own touches:

I  used my Big Shot machine and both the circle dies as well as a Starburst die.  I also used a Thanks die. The Four Feathers stamp set and versamark ink were used with white embossing powder on one feather and Platinum embossing powder on the other.  I then stamped and die cut with the Four Feathers die set the smaller feather and also die cut out a black card stock smaller feather for the layer behind it.  I believe it added the look of dimension by putting the black under the crumb cake feather as a shadow, don't you?

Crumb Cake, basic black, basic grey and Smoky slate card stocks and inks by SU were used.

Thank you for visiting my blog. This thank you card is my gift to each order over $25.00 this month of November,

DOUBLE DUTCH FOLD CARD = FUN

HEY BLOGGIES,

My upline, Dawn G., showed us how to create this fun DOUBLE DUTCH FOLD CARD and I immediately made one and L.O.V.E it.  It is so fun!!  Thanks Dawn!!

Isn't this DSP pretty with the strawberry slush and coastal cabana card stock?  I love it!!  So the top flap has the diamond adhered to it and it flips up before you open the two sides.

Here the two sides are open but the top flap is closed down,

This card is entered at SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY.  Go over to see what my design team members have created.  Hope you enjoyed my special THANKS card.  Stop back again for more creative ideas, won't you?

SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY - BEAUTIFUL FLOWER CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Happy Friday to everyone.  Hope your week was productive and enjoyable.  I had a good week.  My hubby got me a John Deer Riding Mower and I had the BEST TIME driving that thing all over our new property getting it all mowed.  I hit a couple of high roots and knocked the deck off, so my son and hubby put a screw with lug nut on it to keep it from getting knocked off so easily.  Wow, the yard looks so nice now that the "hay has been mowed".  ha ha  It is looking good.  And last Friday we had a bush hog here to clear the back half of our property to get it ready for planting pasture for the horse.  He also went down the fenceline so we can get our fence put in too.  So very productive week.

We have a very simple and easy to work with sketch for you for this week:

And here is my card using that sketch:

SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES:

Today I have a monochromatic card for you today inspired by my Manager, Dawn Griffith.  She sent me a thank you card and gift for helping her with our team.  I loved the card so much I had to CASE it and make one also.  I just added the ribbon for a bit of a different look and to go with our SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY sketch by Patrice.

Here is my card with Flower Shop stamp set and pansy punch as well as Petite Petals stamp set and punch.
The shape of the card is so unusual and fun, isn't it?  I got a card like this from my Upline Dawn Griffith and knew I just HAD to case it.  Changed it up just a tiny bit.

 Closeup of the pansies

Closeup of the naturals ribbon with one flower and the sentiment.
