AN AUTUMN DOOR KNOB HANGER

HEY BLOGGIES,

At our card club last weekend we made a different kind of project.  I had some DOOR KNOB HANGER blanks from a while back and decided we would use these for a project.  They are made from glossy white paper so we had to be careful to let the ink dry in between step so it would not smear.  You will see a BIG SMEAR of blackberry bliss on the right side of my hanger to attest to the fact that you MUST let the ink dry!!  .

We used FOR ALL THINGS and GORGEOUS GRUNGE stamp sets as well as FALL FEST stamp set for the leaves with the matching die.

If you look closely, there is washi tape along the bottom.  The green stripe washi is from the new Holiday Catalog and is actually a Christmas washi tape but I thought it worked perfectly with this project.  Also the black is from the Holiday catalog and is the Halloween washi.  Sorry I can't remember the names of them at the moment.

We used fall colors of our choice and used the background shading stamp from For All Things to put random colors all over it.  Same with the splatter from Gorgeous grunge.  The bow is from the Natural Trim, and the little two step stamped acorn is from a retired set from last year.

Thanks for stopping by.  You could easily make your own Door Knob Hanger blank with your paper cutter and the large circle punch.  I am sure the kids and grandkids will enjoy finding this on their bedroom door knob one day!!

SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES:

Today I have a monochromatic card for you today inspired by my Manager, Dawn Griffith.  She sent me a thank you card and gift for helping her with our team.  I loved the card so much I had to CASE it and make one also.  I just added the ribbon for a bit of a different look and to go with our SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY sketch by Patrice.

Here is my card with Flower Shop stamp set and pansy punch as well as Petite Petals stamp set and punch.
The shape of the card is so unusual and fun, isn't it?  I got a card like this from my Upline Dawn Griffith and knew I just HAD to case it.  Changed it up just a tiny bit.

STAMPING UP A STORM THIS WEEK FOR SURE!!

A RAIN STORM I HOPE.  WE ARE ALREADY IN A DROUGHT HERE IN SOUTHEAST TEXAS AND SUMMER HEAT HASN'T EVEN STARTED YET.  WE PRAY FOR RAIN REGULARLY IN HOPES OF HAVING A NICE GREEN SUMMER THIS YEAR.

This card can be used for just about anything.  It can especially be considered a masculine card with it's gray and dark blue.  I think it is a monochromatic card since the gray and blue are in the same color family.  The blue reads as a very dark gray, don't you think?

Love these nickel color buttons and the natural fabric ribbon too. I ordered my Friends stamp set in French for a new look. I really LOVE it too!!  You will be seeing more French inspired card in the near future.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you will leave your comment and some love.

LAST DAY OF SALE-A-BRATION BLOG HOP

Do you have a Sale-a-Bration flyer?  If you do not have a demonstrator, I would love to mail one to you.

For those of you who have a flyer, there is something I would like to point out.  I am the first to admit the flyer is a bit confusing.  It is in a different format than we usually see, so we have to search it very carefully so we don't miss anything.  It reminds me of the board game "CLUE".  You know, where Colonel Mustard used a knife in the ballroom.  ha   I first saw things I just HAD to get.  Then I went back and studied it more and saw some things I had not noticed before.  FREE ITEMS FROM OUR LARGE ANNUAL CATALOG. Ok, enough of business, now on to the creativity.

For this card I used very vanilla cs as the base and used  the FREE VINE STREET EMBOSSING FOLDER.  I then rubbed some Crumb Cake ink over the raised embossed images to help them show up more.

I used FREE SYCAMORE STREET DESIGNER SERIES PAPER along the bottom of my card, as well as FREE SYCAMORE STREET RIBBONS AND BUTTONS PACK.  L.O.V.E.  how all the colors coordinate with each product we use.

The FREE STAMP SET I used is called MADISON AVENUE STAMP SET.

I used mini pop dots to glue on the buttons on each flower.  I put a sliver of card stock into the button holes to make them look like they had been sewn.  Love the satin ribbon in pool party!!  The colors that coordinate with this DSP and what I used are:

ISLAND INDIGO
TANGERINE TANGO
POOL PARTY
RICH RAZZLEBERRY
GUMBALL GREEN

LOVE how the embossing folder and the stamp set coordinate so well, don't you?

My next card is a minimalist card that packs a lot of punch:

I LOVE bees!!  They are a symbol of industry, hard work and tenacity.  All the qualities that are good character traits to have.  Sorry for the lighting changing the color of the card stock.  It is DAFFODIL DELIGHT like this first photo.  The second photo makes it look like a different color and I am sorry for that.  My flash directly on the card is changing the color on my camera.

The other thing I love about bees is HONEY!!  I love the taste of honey.  I love whipped honey, honey butter and honey candy.  It is so yummy, isn't it?  So this HONEYCOMB EMBOSSING FOLDER is perfect for this card with my little bees.  The bee is from the stamping set COLLAGE CURIOS in the SPRING CATALOG and they are small stamps to go with small punches, small spaces like the honeycomb, and small embellishments like the small POP CAPS.
Notice the awesome new ribbon?  It is NATURAL TRIM from the SPRING CATALOG.  It has a lot of texture and is very nice to work with.  I also used CRYSTAL EFFECTS on top of the bees on the HONEYCOMB EMBOSSING FOLDER for that shiny effect like they are inside their cell of the honeycomb.

The sentiment is from CIAO BABY STAMP SET from the SPRING CATALOG and I used the FREE PETITE CURLY LABEL PUNCH from SALE-A-BRATION.  I also used the CURLY LABEL PUNCH from the big catalog as the back layer punched from FREE SYCAMORE STREET DESIGNER PAPER.

A closeup of my special detail of the small POP CAP, crushed on my BIG SHOT with a 3/4 INCH PUNCH glued on the top.  I punched a small hole with my 1/16 INCH HAND HELD PUNCH for my mini pin to go through to attach my embellishment to the trim.  Isn't that darling??!!  Do you like honey or bees?
