STAR FRAMELITS WINDOW CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I have a card that I made using my SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY sketch. I created the sketch before I realized that 3 of the framelits cannot make it all the way down the card diagonally. So of course I had to change it up a bit.

Here is my sketch for this week:

And here is my card.

I used cherry cobbler and daffodil delight cvard stock.  Then I used cajun craze, pumpkin pie and cherry cobbler inks to both sponge and stamp the layer behind the stars, as well as the front of the card.

I used a bitty star punch for the two little stars of daffodil delight,  The red button is from the brights collection of buttons.
I created the banner myself by scoring two places on each end of the strip of paper and then cutting a flag on both ends.

Hope you enjoyed my card and my sketch this week.  Won't you create a card and share it with us on SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY CHALLENGE?

BEAUTIFUL WREATH FROM OUR NEW WREATH KIT

HEY BLOGGIES,

My friend and one of my downline members, Karen P. and I put together the Wreath Kit yesterday and I wanted to share it with you.

We had such a fun time to make our wreaths together at her home.

Here it is all finished and up on the door.  I have a porch overhang so it is protected from weather.  Since it is made from paper, burlap ribbon and cardboard, you don't want it to ever get wet.

This is a closeup so you can see the different types of flowers to create.  All the supplies except the hot glue is included in the kit.

These open POPPY-type flowers are the largest.  One large yellow one and 3 smaller ones in yellow, coral and light blue.

I love the ones made with the fringed paper.  And the top small blue water lily-type flower is so cute.  I snipped and cupped the inner layer so that it had more dimension and looks more like a water lily. The directions had it just be flat.

I would suggest getting one of these kits and making it with a friend or your family.  It is fun to make and a beautiful project when completed.

Any questions, let me know.

DOILIES, BUTTONS, RHINESTONES AND RIBBON...

Here is a simple but pretty card I put together this morning.  I used one of the new tea doilies which are available in a pack of 25 for $2.95.  I used the En Francais background stamp in Pink Pirouette, layered against black and a pink pirouette card base.  I put a few black rhinestones in a swirl on the doily.

I added a 1" pink stitched ribbon and two buttons with a clear rhinestone in the middle.

The sentiment is WISH BIG cut with the window punch and tied under the button with some bakers twine.  Oh yes, I also added a pink brad next to the sentiment.

I don't use pink pirouette ink very often because it is so light.  But here the softness of the ink works great, I believe, and gave me the look I wanted.

Thanks for stopping by!!

FRIENDS ARE THE GARDEN OF LIFE

My friend, Jan Mougel, is a fellow Glitter Queen team member and she showed us during the blog hop how to make an ADORABLE GIFT BAG from 2 sheets of designer series paper.  Not only did she tell us how to do it, but she also made a video for us.  At my advancing age, I find I am getting to be more and more a visual learner.  That video was done so very well that I immediately took out my score tool and made the gift bag!!  Thanks so much JAN.  If you want to see her video, please visit her at: www.bearycreativecrafts.blogspot.com

I made this gift bag to put a fun valentine in for a friend of mine.  Not only is the candy yummy, but she will receive a handcrafted gift bag from me too!!

I made this bag from the FREE SYCAMORE STREET DSP from the Sale-a-Bration flyer.  You can choose to get this FREE with a $50 order of any products you desire.

I used the FREE RIBBON for the handles of the gift bag.  The buttons and the ribbon come together as ONE FREE ITEM through Sale-a-Bration.  They match the colors used in the designer paper.

I stamped Papillion Potpourri stamp set and colored it in with my markers, then used the butterfly punch and glued it on the bag.

Thanks again to JAN for sharing her expertise with us all.  Make some of these fun bags for your gifts to friends and family soon!!

Come on, get creative y'all!!  Let me know if I can help you, ya hear?

LAST DAY OF SALE-A-BRATION BLOG HOP

Do you have a Sale-a-Bration flyer?  If you do not have a demonstrator, I would love to mail one to you.

For those of you who have a flyer, there is something I would like to point out.  I am the first to admit the flyer is a bit confusing.  It is in a different format than we usually see, so we have to search it very carefully so we don't miss anything.  It reminds me of the board game "CLUE".  You know, where Colonel Mustard used a knife in the ballroom.  ha   I first saw things I just HAD to get.  Then I went back and studied it more and saw some things I had not noticed before.  FREE ITEMS FROM OUR LARGE ANNUAL CATALOG. (page in annual catalog is included for your reference)

1.  ITTY BITTY BANNERS STAMP SET,  (p. 134) - (wood 132194) (clear 132195)

2.  GETTING STARTED CARD STOCK PACK, (p. 151) - basic colors of card stock, 24 sheets (p. 151) (#132199)

4.  QUINT-ESSENTIAL FLOWER STAMP (p. 110) - (#132202)  goes with 4 punches!!

5.  SIMPLY SCORED DIAGONAL PLATE (p. 181) - (#132203)

6.  ESSENTIALS PAPER-PIERCING PACK (p. 181) - (#132204)

MAKE SURE YOU USE THE ITEM NUMBERS IN THE FLYER OR ABOVE BECAUSE THEY ARE SPECIAL NUMBERS FOR YOU TO GET THE ITEM AS YOUR FREE ITEM FOR SALE-A-BRATION!!

Ok, enough of business, now on to the creativity.

For this card I used very vanilla cs as the base and used  the FREE VINE STREET EMBOSSING FOLDER.  I then rubbed some Crumb Cake ink over the raised embossed images to help them show up more.

I used FREE SYCAMORE STREET DESIGNER SERIES PAPER along the bottom of my card, as well as FREE SYCAMORE STREET RIBBONS AND BUTTONS PACK.  L.O.V.E.  how all the colors coordinate with each product we use.

The FREE STAMP SET I used is called MADISON AVENUE STAMP SET.

I used mini pop dots to glue on the buttons on each flower.  I put a sliver of card stock into the button holes to make them look like they had been sewn.  Love the satin ribbon in pool party!!  The colors that coordinate with this DSP and what I used are:

ISLAND INDIGO
TANGERINE TANGO
POOL PARTY
RICH RAZZLEBERRY
GUMBALL GREEN

LOVE how the embossing folder and the stamp set coordinate so well, don't you?

My next card is a minimalist card that packs a lot of punch:

I LOVE bees!!  They are a symbol of industry, hard work and tenacity.  All the qualities that are good character traits to have.  Sorry for the lighting changing the color of the card stock.  It is DAFFODIL DELIGHT like this first photo.  The second photo makes it look like a different color and I am sorry for that.  My flash directly on the card is changing the color on my camera.

The other thing I love about bees is HONEY!!  I love the taste of honey.  I love whipped honey, honey butter and honey candy.  It is so yummy, isn't it?  So this HONEYCOMB EMBOSSING FOLDER is perfect for this card with my little bees.  The bee is from the stamping set COLLAGE CURIOS in the SPRING CATALOG and they are small stamps to go with small punches, small spaces like the honeycomb, and small embellishments like the small POP CAPS.
Notice the awesome new ribbon?  It is NATURAL TRIM from the SPRING CATALOG.  It has a lot of texture and is very nice to work with.  I also used CRYSTAL EFFECTS on top of the bees on the HONEYCOMB EMBOSSING FOLDER for that shiny effect like they are inside their cell of the honeycomb.

The sentiment is from CIAO BABY STAMP SET from the SPRING CATALOG and I used the FREE PETITE CURLY LABEL PUNCH from SALE-A-BRATION.  I also used the CURLY LABEL PUNCH from the big catalog as the back layer punched from FREE SYCAMORE STREET DESIGNER PAPER.

A closeup of my special detail of the small POP CAP, crushed on my BIG SHOT with a 3/4 INCH PUNCH glued on the top.  I punched a small hole with my 1/16 INCH HAND HELD PUNCH for my mini pin to go through to attach my embellishment to the trim.  Isn't that darling??!!  Do you like honey or bees?

THANK YOU  for visiting our blog hop this week.  I hope you have lots of inspiration now to start your spring stamping.  If you need any supplies, I would love to help you.  You can click my signature line below to go to my order site.

Don't forget to leave me a comment on the card today to be entered into my BLOG CANDY GIVEAWAY.

ELEGANT ORNAMENT AT CARD CLUB

WE HAD A WONDERFUL NIGHT LAST NIGHT AT CARD CLUB.  WE MADE A VERSION OF THE ELEGANT ORNAMENT AND THIS TIME MADE IT IN SHADES OF BLUE AND GOLD.

CARD CLUB IS ALWAYS SO MUCH FUN.  WE TALK, WE LAUGH, WE ENJOY EACH OTHERS COMPANY AND WE CREATE SOME FUN PAPER ITEMS.  WON'T YOU CONSIDER COMING TO JOIN US NEXT MONTH?
I USED DIFFERENT FRAMELITS AND STAMPS THAN THE ONE ON THE FRONT OF THE CATALOG.  I WANTED MINE TO BE A BIT BIGGER SO I USED THE TWO LARGEST DIES AND STAMPS IN THE SET.

I USED CRUMB CAKE FOR THE TULE INBETWEEN THE LAYERS AND SOME RETIRED GOLD SU CORDING ON TOP OF THE TULLE.  THEN I ADDED THE TOP ORNAMENT LAYER IN A DIFFERENT COLOR BLUE.  FOR THE MIDDLE, I PUT A PUNCHED BLOSSOM TO COVER UP THE HOT GLUE STUFF, THEN A BLUE BUTTON AND A WHITE  BUTTON.  ON TOP OF THE WHITE BUTTON I PUT SOME DAZZLING DETAILS.

I TRIED SO HARD FOR THE CAMERA TO PICK UP THE SPRITZ OF CHAMPAGNE MIST I PUT ALL OVER IT.  IT IS SO PRETTY IN PERSON.  I GOT THE SPRITZER AND THE CHAMPAGNE PAINT AND ADDED SOME ALCOHOL TO THE MISTER WITH A FEW DROPS OF CHAMPAGNE PAINT IN IT, SHOOK IT UP AND MISTED THE WHOLE ORNAMENT,  EVEN THE TULLE IS SHIMMERY IN PERSON.  SIGH - WISH YOU COULD SEE HOW PRETTY IT TURNED OUT.  YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.  THIS STEP ADDS SO MUCH AND THE MISTERS ARE ONLY $2.85 FOR TWO AND THE PAINT WAS ONLY A FEW DOLLARS TOO,.  WELL WORTH THE EXPENSE AND IT LASTS A LOOOONG TIME!!

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY TO SEE MY LATEST CREATION.  UNTIL NEXT TIME, HERE'S TO YOUR INKY FINGERS Y'ALL!!

HOLIDAY ORNAMENT FROM HOLIDAY CATALOG

I FINALLY HAD SOME TIME TO MAKE THAT BEAUTIFUL ORNAMENT ON THE FRONT COVER OF THE HOLIDAY CATALOG THIS YEAR.

HERE IT IS. . . I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.  I DID, OF COURSE, MAKE SOME CHANGES TO MAKE IT MY OWN.  FIRST, I USED DESIGNER SPECIALTY PAPER.  THE RED AND WHITE IS GLITTERY AND HAS TEXTURE TO IT.  I USED SOME SPECIAL DECO GARLAND THAT IS RETIRED FROM SU INSTEAD OF THE TULLE.  WHY YOU ASK?  BECAUSE I PUT MY CHERRY COBBLER TULLE IN A VERY SPECIAL PLACE AND CAN NOT FIND IT!!  AKK, I HATE WHEN I DO THAT.  HAVEN'T EVEN OPENED IT YET AND IT IS MISSING.,   GRRRR

I ALSO USED TWO BUTTONS AND A RHINESTONE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ORNAMENT.

HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS LEADING UP TO THE FINISHED ORNAMENT:
I FOLDED UP MY DESIGNER SPECIALTY PAPER INTO THREE LAYERS AND MY FRAMELITS CUT THROUGH PERFECTLY.  I L.O.V.E. MY BIGSHOT!!  BEST THING I EVER BOUGHT MYSELF.
HERE IS THE BOTTOM GREEN AND CHERRY STRIPED LAYER IN THE BIG SHOT

THESE FRAMELITS ARE THE BEST.  LOOK HOW MANY COME IN THE PACKAGE!!  JUST ABOUT ANY SHAPE OR SIZE YOU WOULD EVER NEED!!  YOU MUST CONSIDER GETTING THESE!! (GIVE A HINT TO YOUR HUBBY, CHILD OR FRIEND TO CONTACT ME SO YOU CAN GET THESE AS A CHRISTMAS GIFT!!)

HERE IS THE FIRST LAYER MADE WITH EACH ORNAMENT HAVING 4 LAYERS FOLDED AND GLUED TOGETHER, THEN HOT GLUED TOGETHER IN THE MIDDLE.  (I USED TOMBOW TO GLUE EACH ORNAMENT TOGETHER WITH THE FOLDED DIE CUTS.)

A CLOSER VIEW OF EACH OF THE 5 SECTIONS OF THE BOTTOM OF THE ORNAMENT.
CLOSEUP OF BOTH LAYERS SO YOU CAN SEE THE TOP BULB SHAPED ORNAMENTS MADE FROM THE GLIMMER STRIPED PAPER.  YOU CAN ALSO SEE THE SPECIALTY GARLAND RIBBON FROM THE RETIRED RIBBON.

I USED MY CROP-A-DILE TO PUNCH A HOLE IN THE TOP AND USED LINEN STRING FOR THE HOOK TO ATTACH TO.  THE BUTTON COLORS ARE GREEN AND DEEP RED.  IT SHOWS UP BLACK BECAUSE OF THE LIGHTING.  SORRY.

THERE YOU HAVE IT.  I AM HAVING A CLASS THIS WEEK SO WE CAN MAKE SOME OF THESE.  TODAY THIS ONE IS GOING TO AN 82 YR OLD FRIEND FOR HER TREE.

HERE'S TO INKY FINGERS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS, Y'ALL.

WON'T YOU LEAVE ME A COMMENT?  I ENJOY HEARING FROM YOU AND KNOWING THAT YOU ARE CHECKING MY BLOG KEEPS ME GOING.  THANK YOU.

SPICE CAKE - YUMMY

WHERE DID LAST WEEK GO?  I AM SO VERY SORRY I LEFT YOU HANGING WITH MY 3D FLOWER AND DID NOT SHOW YOU THE CARD I PUT IT ON.  I DON'T KNOW IF YOU REMEMBER OR NOT, BUT I AM A PART TIME HALLMARK CARDS RETAIL MERCHANDISER FOR AREA GROCERY STORES.  THIS MEANS AROUND ANY HOLIDAY, I AM EXTREMELY BUSY BOTH BEFORE THE HOLIDAY, THEN ALSO AFTERWARDS GETTING DOWN THE HOLIDAY AND PUTTING UP SOMETHING NEW.

WELL LAST WEEK JUST WORE ME COMPLETELY OUT.  I AM TRYING TO RECOOP THIS WEEK AND SLOWLY IT IS COMING BACK TO NORMAL AGAIN.

HERE IS THE 3D FLOWER I SHOWED YOU LAST WEEKEND.  I MADE IT FROM THE PACKING PAPER THAT COMES IN THE BOX OF GOODIES FROM STAMPING UP. IT IS USED INSTEAD OF STYROFOAM PEANUTS.  I CUT OUT SEVERAL LAYERS FROM THE FANCY FLOWERS DIE AND MY BIG SHOT.  THEN I SCRUNCHED, SPONGED, MANIPULATED AND VOILA...A FLOWER:

I LOVE THE SHABBY LOOK IT HAS.  THE MIDDLE IS A CLEARANCE RACK CORDUROY CRUMB CAKE BUTTON BRAD, AND I SPONGED THAT ALSO.  HECK, I SPONGED ANYTHING THAT WAS HOLDING STILL IN FRONT OF ME!!

HERE IS THE CARD.  WHAT DO YOU THINK?  I LOVE THE COLOR COMBOS IN THE SPICE CAKE DSP SO THIS WORKED PERFECTLY FOR ME.  I STARTED WITH A CARD BASE OF CRUMB CAKE AND A LAYER OF BAJA BREEZE.

I PUNCHED A SCALLOP BORDER ON SOME EARLY ESPRESSO CARD STOCK AND PUT IT BEHIND A PIECE OF THE SPICE CAKE DSP.  YUMMY.  OH YEAH, I SPONGED WITH EARLY ESPRESSO BOTH THE CARD BASE AND THE BLUE LAYER.

I STAMPED A SIMPLE THANK YOU IN ESPRESSO ON CRUMB CAKE AND PUNCHED IT OUT WITH THE DECORATIVE LABEL PUNCH.  I LAYERED ESPRESSO PUNCHED OUT BEHIND AND TO THE LEFT OF IT AS WELL, TO LOOK LIKE A SHADOW.

I LOVE HOW THE EARLY ESPRESSO "SHADOW" PUNCH BEHIND THE SENTIMENT LOOKS, DON'T YOU?  IT TIES IN BEAUTIFULLY WITH THE SCALLOP BORDER PUNCH ON THE LEFT OF THE CARD AS WELL.

THIS IS WITHOUT MY FLASH TO HELP SEE ALL THE SPONGING, ETC. ON THE FLOWER.

I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS CARD I DESIGNED.  WON'T YOU TAKE JUST A QUICK MOMENT AND LEAVE ME A COMMENT PLEASE?

HERE IS THE COMPLETED CARD AGAIN.  THANKS SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY.  IF YOU DON'T HAVE A DEMONSTRATOR, I WOULD LOVE TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR CARD CRAFTING AND SUPPLY NEEDS
