ANOTHER HELLO CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

How are you today?  I have another fun HELLO card for you.   Like the one I shared yesterday, I started with a part that this time comes from one of the Project Life kits and accessories.  I liked that it had an oval in the middle that did NOT have any printing on it so I could ink it up before I attached my die cut HELLO,

I adhered the Project Life Card onto a  standard folded card of Cajun Craze card stock.  I then used a sponge and put some greens and a bit of yello to make the background inside the oval unprinted part of the Card.  I used an adorable Simon Says Stamp HELLO die that has an outline with it.  The outline is whisper white and the word itself is from a stenciled print I did a long time ago and have been using it for my die cuts.  It was made with a geometric stencil where I used versamark and clear embossing powder.  THEN I sponged colors across the paper and have since used sections of it for die cuts, backgrounds, borders, etc.  LOVE IT

On the inside I put a piece of whisper white and then two little slices off the Project Life card front (cut off so the Cajun Craze base would show behind it).  I glued these slices as a border.

And here is one more look at the card front.  If you look closely, you can see the gems and sequins I adhered onto the front for a small amount of bling.

Thanks for visiting.  See you next time I make some cards!!

SMILE DIE CUT CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have another AUGUST PAPER PUMPKIN KIT special project for you today.  Hope you enjoyed the one I posted for you yesterday.  Look below if you missed it so you can see some ideas of creatively using your kit.

I used mellow moss for my card base and cut the striped designer paper to just fit behind the 'SMILE" die cut.  I sponged around the white card stock with strawberry slush ink and a sponge. I used my corner rounder to round all the corners.

That's it!!  Easy peasy and FUN.  A cute quick card for someone who needs a SMILE!!

thanks for stopping by.

another card club card and Mojo Monday 266

Hello Stampers,

I have the last card to share with you from our card club last month.  I really like this simple card with the Victorian look about it.

If you have not purchased this new holiday paper pack yet, you MUST get it.  It is such a convenient size for making cards AND it is full of such beautiful patterns.  These three papers you see on this card all come from this paper pack.

The card base is gumball green, then a layer of the designer paper from the paper pack, then I cut another designer print into a banner and put that on next.  Before I put the plaid designer paper I sponged it lightly with soft suede to give it a more antique look.  The final layer is the stamped sentiment on very vanilla.

This close up shows how I lightly sponged the edge of the vanilla sentiment and then added two pearls for that little antique touch.  And the button with the cherry cobbler bakers twine adds the final touch!!  I am very pleased with how this card came out.  LOVE IT.

Won't you leave me a comment and tell me what you think about my card?  I don't usually combine patterns very much, but this one just took on a life of it's own and I think it really works well.  LOVE

Thanks for visiting today.  If you don't have a demonstrator, won't you consider ordering YOUR supplies from me?  Especially this lovely paper pack from the Holiday Catalog.

Good afternoon to you all.  Talk to you again in a day or two.

SPICE CAKE - YUMMY

WHERE DID LAST WEEK GO?  I AM SO VERY SORRY I LEFT YOU HANGING WITH MY 3D FLOWER AND DID NOT SHOW YOU THE CARD I PUT IT ON.  I DON'T KNOW IF YOU REMEMBER OR NOT, BUT I AM A PART TIME HALLMARK CARDS RETAIL MERCHANDISER FOR AREA GROCERY STORES.  THIS MEANS AROUND ANY HOLIDAY, I AM EXTREMELY BUSY BOTH BEFORE THE HOLIDAY, THEN ALSO AFTERWARDS GETTING DOWN THE HOLIDAY AND PUTTING UP SOMETHING NEW.

WELL LAST WEEK JUST WORE ME COMPLETELY OUT.  I AM TRYING TO RECOOP THIS WEEK AND SLOWLY IT IS COMING BACK TO NORMAL AGAIN.

HERE IS THE 3D FLOWER I SHOWED YOU LAST WEEKEND.  I MADE IT FROM THE PACKING PAPER THAT COMES IN THE BOX OF GOODIES FROM STAMPING UP. IT IS USED INSTEAD OF STYROFOAM PEANUTS.  I CUT OUT SEVERAL LAYERS FROM THE FANCY FLOWERS DIE AND MY BIG SHOT.  THEN I SCRUNCHED, SPONGED, MANIPULATED AND VOILA...A FLOWER:

I LOVE THE SHABBY LOOK IT HAS.  THE MIDDLE IS A CLEARANCE RACK CORDUROY CRUMB CAKE BUTTON BRAD, AND I SPONGED THAT ALSO.  HECK, I SPONGED ANYTHING THAT WAS HOLDING STILL IN FRONT OF ME!!

HERE IS THE CARD.  WHAT DO YOU THINK?  I LOVE THE COLOR COMBOS IN THE SPICE CAKE DSP SO THIS WORKED PERFECTLY FOR ME.  I STARTED WITH A CARD BASE OF CRUMB CAKE AND A LAYER OF BAJA BREEZE.

I PUNCHED A SCALLOP BORDER ON SOME EARLY ESPRESSO CARD STOCK AND PUT IT BEHIND A PIECE OF THE SPICE CAKE DSP.  YUMMY.  OH YEAH, I SPONGED WITH EARLY ESPRESSO BOTH THE CARD BASE AND THE BLUE LAYER.

I STAMPED A SIMPLE THANK YOU IN ESPRESSO ON CRUMB CAKE AND PUNCHED IT OUT WITH THE DECORATIVE LABEL PUNCH.  I LAYERED ESPRESSO PUNCHED OUT BEHIND AND TO THE LEFT OF IT AS WELL, TO LOOK LIKE A SHADOW.

I LOVE HOW THE EARLY ESPRESSO "SHADOW" PUNCH BEHIND THE SENTIMENT LOOKS, DON'T YOU?  IT TIES IN BEAUTIFULLY WITH THE SCALLOP BORDER PUNCH ON THE LEFT OF THE CARD AS WELL.

THIS IS WITHOUT MY FLASH TO HELP SEE ALL THE SPONGING, ETC. ON THE FLOWER.

I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS CARD I DESIGNED.  WON'T YOU TAKE JUST A QUICK MOMENT AND LEAVE ME A COMMENT PLEASE?

HERE IS THE COMPLETED CARD AGAIN.  THANKS SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY.  IF YOU DON'T HAVE A DEMONSTRATOR, I WOULD LOVE TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR CARD CRAFTING AND SUPPLY NEEDS

FLOWERS, FLOWERS, FLOWERS

I LOVE FLOWERS IN MY GARDEN, I LOVE FLOWERS ON MY CARDS.

I USED MY BIG SHOT AND THE FANCY FLOWER DIE TO MAKE A FUN FLOWER FOR A CARD I AM CREATING.  I USED THE BROWN PACKING PAPER THAT COMES AS STUFFING IN MY SU BOXES WITH MY ORDERS.  I JUST WANTED THAT CRAFT PAPER LOOK FOR THIS FLOWER.

THE DIE HAS 3 DIFFERENT SIZE AND SHAPE OF FLOWERS, PLUS SOME CIRCLES.  I DID NOT CUT OUT THE CIRCLES ,JUST THE 3 FLOWER SHAPES.

WELLLLL, IN MY CAMERA LENS YOU COULD SEE THE BLADES OF THE DIE TO SEE ALL THE SHAPES, BUT NOT ONCE I TOOK THE PHOTO.  SORRY.  JUST LOOK AT THE COMPLETED FLOWER AND ADMIRE IT, WOULD YOU?

I USED SOFT SUEDE AND A SPONGE AND INKED AROUND THE CRUMBLED UP FLOWERS, THEN UN-CRUMBLED THEM AND LAYERED THEM TOGETHER.  I USED A CRUMB CAKE CORDOROY BRAD FOR THE MIDDLE AND INKED THAT ALSO.

WHEN I FINISH MY CARD I WILL SHOW YOU  IN A NEW POST.

INKY FINGERS Y'ALL!!

TRYING SOME NEW TECHNIQUES THESE PAST FEW DAYS

Hi y'all,

I saw a wonderful technique I wanted to try over at Sandi Maciver's blog.  Thanks for the info, Sandi!  It is clear embossing that resists rubbed ink on the card.  Emboss resist it is called.  I have seen it before, but never really saw any card I HAD to make with it.  But this winter scene made me want to give it a try.

I used the pine tree group stamp from PLANT HOPE stamp set, with versa mark ink on white card stock, then clear embossing powder.  Then heat set it.

Next I used a piece of sponge and rubbed on 3 different colors of blue - pool party, marina mist and not quite navy.  I tried to use the darkest color as a shadow around and under the trees.

I didn't like the greenish color of pool party for this card.  Next time I would use Bashful Blue I believe.  But I still like the overall look.  I matted not quite navy and pool party card stock behind the stamped panel.

I have not put any sentiment yet.  I keep cards like this a lot until I need a card.  Then I choose the sentiment I need and attach it then.

Hope you enjoyed this wintery looking card.  A lot of states got snow this weekend so I thought this card was appropriate for them.  BRRRRRR

Have a happy Halloween and be safe to all!!

I AM BATTY FOR BATS

Last year we drove over to Austin with my son and family to watch the bats leave out from under the bridge at sunset.  There was a lot of teasing towards me because I arranged the trip and at first there were only a few bats to leave.  But then they all woke up and started flying out and down the river.  These are Mexican free tail bats here in Texas. It was fun, even with the teasing.

Not sure what kind of bats these are that I made.  In my card swap group, I received an adorable treat box with an adorable bat on it.  I knew immediately I had to make some of my own.  Here we go:
Aren't they the CUTEST LITTLE GUYS you have ever seen??!!  I mean, look at those goofy eyes and that funny smile!!  ha ha  They make me laugh every time I see them!

Here is a closeup to get a better view.  The box is a template I used.  Not sure if there is a die for it or not, but I just used a template. The sponging on the bat and the top of the box was done with vanilla craft ink.  I tried gray first and it didn't even show.  The moon is actually so saffron  1" circle sponged with gray, but the flash washed out the color.  So sorry.

In this photo above, the box is still "NAKED" on the bottom while I decided what to do to decorate it.
The branch is an sizzlet.

I decorated the bottom front of the box with designer paper called Cast a Spell.  The "SPOOKY" is from Wicked Cool stamp set, punched out with the 1 3/4 by 7/8 oval punch (called large oval punch in the catalog).  It was stamped with black on pumpkin pie, but here it looks like pumpkin pie on yellow.  Weird what the flash did, huh?  The layer behind it is basic black with the scallop oval punch.

Little Goofy Bat is looking for bugs to eat before he flies off to catch them!  I also used a bat punch in basic black for the bottom of the box.  For the shreds inside, I used white, black and orange.

What is the bat made with you ask?  So glad you asked!!  It is the OWL PUNCH from Stampin' Up!  The wings are his little vest on the same punch!!  The only thing I added to this bat that is NOT the punch is white gel pen for the goofy smile and fangs!!  LOVE THIS PUNCH!!  SEE - NOW you love him even MORE, don't you??!!

So if you NEED to order the OWL PUNCH, the LARGE OVAL PUNCH, the SCALLOP OVAL PUNCH, BASIC BLACK CARD STOCK, PUMPKIN PIE CARD STOCK, or CAST A SPELL DESIGNER SERIES PAPER, just click right below and it will take you to shop at my SU! site - any time and at YOUR convenience!!  Also available to order is the 1" CIRCLE PUNCH and the Sizzlet Little Leaves die.

Everyone who orders from me online this month will get one of these adorable BAT boxes for a THANK YOU GIFT.

Inky fingers y'all and have fun!!

SOMEONE IS WATCHING YOU....

Sometimes do you get chills at your neck and the hairs get all prickly and you think someone is watching you?  That is the feeling kids love to have a Halloween time.  It is scary but fun for them at Halloween.  This card is kind of like that.  It is simple but scary and certainly fun.  I saw the idea at Becky Roberts blog and knew I had to CASE it with a few changes to make it my own.

Isn't it just too fun!!!  Reminds me of a mummy because of the black and white -  like bandages wrapped around a mummy.  I used Confetti Cream and my top note die for my BIG SHOT to cut out the card base.  Fold your card base and put it just inside of the one cut mark on the left side.  That way you have a folding card in the top note shape.  Then I cut it again single only in black and cut it in half.  I used the fun 1/8" black ribbon with the tiny white stripes.  I love this ribbon and have it in every color SU! makes it in.  I use it all the time!!  You NEED this ribbon, I promise you!!  I used two different sized punches for the eyes and sponged around the eyeball with black ink.  That's it.  Took less than 5 minutes to make.

I am using them for Thank You cards for my customers so I put a simple "thank you" from Kindness Matters stamp set on the inside.  It fits perfectly into the small notecard envelopes.

Hope you enjoyed this card.  Won't you leave me a note to tell me what you think of this Clean and Simple and FUN card??

Here's to Inky Fingers y'all!!
