SHAPED BIRTHDAY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

By now everyone knows how much I   L.O.V.E. my Big Shot machine.  There are so many different things you can use it for and I love every last one of them!!  Today I used it with my circle framelits to create a round shaped birthday card:

I put the circle framelit just a little bit above the fold of a piece of card stock and cut it with the Big Shot.  I then created my own piece of background paper with watercolor paper and an embossing folder and some inks and cut it with my Starburst framelit.

I used it one more time on this card by using the Happy Birthday thinlit die and some black card stock and ran it through the Big Shot to create my sentiment.  I also used my build a cupcake punch and used the candles outside while the cupcake was used inside.  Added a few star sequins and VOILA a great shaped birthday card.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  I appreciate your visits.  See you again in a few days with another fun creation.

SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY CARD WITH MY BIG SHOT

HEY BLOGGIES,

I still have a special love for my BIG SHOT.  And now that there are so many word dies out there I am falling in love all over again with it!!

Today I have a simple but beautiful card following this SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY CHALLENGE:

And here is my card that just happens to NOT have any stamping on it!!  That doesn't happen very often, but this time it did and it is still a beautiful card because of my BIG SHOT.

I used clear plastic thread to hang the purchased die cut butterfly in the center of the die cut oval hole.  I used the oval framelets for the smaller hole and the Oval Scallop Frame that is retired for the larger hole and scallop edge.  I love how it came out and hope you do too.  Always is a small framelit word on a line die.

Make sure you stop by to see what all the design team have made for you.  Then create your own card and upload it so we can see your creation, ok?

I am also entering this card at Friday Mashup using their sketch:

MERRY AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES

WHY DO WE ONLY USE MERRY WITH CHRISTMAS?  I am putting a stop to that!!  I am using it IN PLACE of HAPPY!!  I know, I know - WHAT A REBEL!! HA

Soft sky - that just makes me dream of laying on a puffy cloud and slowly drifting along, while watching the beautiful blue of the sky!!

Not sure what color this yellow is - it was a scrap that I wanted to use up.  But I think it goes along with the birthday theme just fine, don't you?  LOVING these word THINLITS.  I want to use them all year long, hence using them with "Birthday Wishes".

I punched out two of the deco label punches in yellow and cut them in half to put as a layer behind the sentiment.

One more look at the completed card.  Pretty cute and pretty fast.  I made it in less than 10 minutes!!  Actually 9 min 16 seconds.  YIPPEE

Coral, Cantaloupe and Brides

That's quite a title, isn't it?  It describes the colors I used on my card today:  CALYPSO CORAL, CRISP CANTALOUPE AND BLUSHING BRIDE.  I saw this card on my fellow demonstrator's site, Debbie Henderson and knew I just had to case it.  Thanks Debbie!!  I am using different colors than she did, but the idea is hers.

I used my SECRET GARDEN FRAMELITS and my SIMPLY SCORED to create the front of this card.

Then I put the three different color card stocks behind the die cut flowers and added it to a calypso coral layer and then onto the blushing bride card base.

Ruffled ribbon in calypso coral.  The "THOUGHTS OF YOU BRING SMILES" is in melon mambo and was cut out with the layered labels framelits.  I had cut the cantaloupe layer behind it.

One more look at my complete card.  Thanks for stopping by.  Stay creative.

I THINK YOU ARE AMAZING....

The LOVELY ROMANCE set coordinates with the Chalk Talk Framelits.  There are actually 3 or 4 sets that coordinate with these Framelits in the new annual catalog and I GOT THEM ALL.  (grin)

Crushed Curry and Soft Suede on Whisper white are the colors of this card.  I used the Chevron Embossing Folder and rolled ink on it before running it thru the Big Shot. .Texture and color - gotta love it!

The sentiment is soft suede with a soft suede layer behind it.  LOVING these FRAMELITS and STAMP SETS that COORDINATE, aren't you??!!

I put some yellow pompom trim along the left side of the chevron layer, and sponged crushed curry ink all around the entire card base. See the bling of a large pearl on the sentiment.  Just a little something special.

Did you notice the pretty DSP down the left side of the card?  AND the cute butterfly double layered on the right side?  FUN FUN FUN

I LOVE TEXAS, IN THE SPRINGTIME...

SPRING, GLORIOUS SPRING.  I hope you don't get sick of reading about how much I love spring.  If you are in the cold areas, I can only say it will come to you soon!!  We are basking in the wonderfulness of the warm breezes, low humidity, flowers, butterflies, etc.

I love Pool Party and am so excited to learn today that Pool Party is going into the permanent color families to stay!!  This card is standard sized, with Secret Garden stamp set and framelits.  I used wisteria wonder as the layer under my stamped created designer paper.

I used pool party ink and stamped some subtle images on the base card.  Then I stamped the flower in early espresso and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I sprayed water on the flower and used my markers to "water color" the petals.  I attached several of the framelits in wisteria wonder behind the flower for a shadow effect.

One cute little surprise is the teal plastic flower on the left.  Just a little HELLO ARE YOU LOOKING kind of thing.  That is the only thing that is not by SU.

Hope you enjoyed my card.  Won't you leave me a comment?

Stay creative my friends.  :-)

ANOTHER SECRET GARDEN CARD

As promised yesterday, here is another card to go inside the gift box card set.  This Secret Garden Stamp Set is so versatile and fun to use.

Isn't this card darling?  I am loving this creation I came up with.  The card base is pool party and I used my color assistant to see that daffodil delight and island indigo are good color choices to go with it.  I used versamark and stamped the 5 petal flower from the set all over the card base. Then on a piece of whisper white I stamped 3 yellow flowers, 3 lucky limeade leave pieces, and three lilies in island indigo.  This lily stamp is an outline stamp and I LOVE IT.  I then stamped and die cut one more lily and attached with dimensionals where I had stamped it on the piece so that it goes over the art piece.  A real POW I think. And SO EASY with the FRAMELITS that match this stamp set.  You MUST get this BUNDLE for 15% off!!

I stamped 3 yellow flowers and one island indigo lily on the envelop for FUN and to tease them about what is inside.

Here is another look at the gift box I made for the cards to go inside.  What a fun gift someone will get!!

The little closure is the decorative label punch attached with flower brads.  The point of the box top slides behind the closure.

Thanks for stopping by.  Stay inky my friends!!

ELEGANT ORNAMENT AT CARD CLUB

WE HAD A WONDERFUL NIGHT LAST NIGHT AT CARD CLUB.  WE MADE A VERSION OF THE ELEGANT ORNAMENT AND THIS TIME MADE IT IN SHADES OF BLUE AND GOLD.

CARD CLUB IS ALWAYS SO MUCH FUN.  WE TALK, WE LAUGH, WE ENJOY EACH OTHERS COMPANY AND WE CREATE SOME FUN PAPER ITEMS.  WON'T YOU CONSIDER COMING TO JOIN US NEXT MONTH?
I USED DIFFERENT FRAMELITS AND STAMPS THAN THE ONE ON THE FRONT OF THE CATALOG.  I WANTED MINE TO BE A BIT BIGGER SO I USED THE TWO LARGEST DIES AND STAMPS IN THE SET.

I USED CRUMB CAKE FOR THE TULE INBETWEEN THE LAYERS AND SOME RETIRED GOLD SU CORDING ON TOP OF THE TULLE.  THEN I ADDED THE TOP ORNAMENT LAYER IN A DIFFERENT COLOR BLUE.  FOR THE MIDDLE, I PUT A PUNCHED BLOSSOM TO COVER UP THE HOT GLUE STUFF, THEN A BLUE BUTTON AND A WHITE  BUTTON.  ON TOP OF THE WHITE BUTTON I PUT SOME DAZZLING DETAILS.

I TRIED SO HARD FOR THE CAMERA TO PICK UP THE SPRITZ OF CHAMPAGNE MIST I PUT ALL OVER IT.  IT IS SO PRETTY IN PERSON.  I GOT THE SPRITZER AND THE CHAMPAGNE PAINT AND ADDED SOME ALCOHOL TO THE MISTER WITH A FEW DROPS OF CHAMPAGNE PAINT IN IT, SHOOK IT UP AND MISTED THE WHOLE ORNAMENT,  EVEN THE TULLE IS SHIMMERY IN PERSON.  SIGH - WISH YOU COULD SEE HOW PRETTY IT TURNED OUT.  YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.  THIS STEP ADDS SO MUCH AND THE MISTERS ARE ONLY $2.85 FOR TWO AND THE PAINT WAS ONLY A FEW DOLLARS TOO,.  WELL WORTH THE EXPENSE AND IT LASTS A LOOOONG TIME!!

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY TO SEE MY LATEST CREATION.  UNTIL NEXT TIME, HERE'S TO YOUR INKY FINGERS Y'ALL!!

HOLIDAY ORNAMENT FROM HOLIDAY CATALOG

I FINALLY HAD SOME TIME TO MAKE THAT BEAUTIFUL ORNAMENT ON THE FRONT COVER OF THE HOLIDAY CATALOG THIS YEAR.

HERE IT IS. . . I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.  I DID, OF COURSE, MAKE SOME CHANGES TO MAKE IT MY OWN.  FIRST, I USED DESIGNER SPECIALTY PAPER.  THE RED AND WHITE IS GLITTERY AND HAS TEXTURE TO IT.  I USED SOME SPECIAL DECO GARLAND THAT IS RETIRED FROM SU INSTEAD OF THE TULLE.  WHY YOU ASK?  BECAUSE I PUT MY CHERRY COBBLER TULLE IN A VERY SPECIAL PLACE AND CAN NOT FIND IT!!  AKK, I HATE WHEN I DO THAT.  HAVEN'T EVEN OPENED IT YET AND IT IS MISSING.,   GRRRR

I ALSO USED TWO BUTTONS AND A RHINESTONE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ORNAMENT.

HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS LEADING UP TO THE FINISHED ORNAMENT:
I FOLDED UP MY DESIGNER SPECIALTY PAPER INTO THREE LAYERS AND MY FRAMELITS CUT THROUGH PERFECTLY.  I L.O.V.E. MY BIGSHOT!!  BEST THING I EVER BOUGHT MYSELF.
HERE IS THE BOTTOM GREEN AND CHERRY STRIPED LAYER IN THE BIG SHOT

THESE FRAMELITS ARE THE BEST.  LOOK HOW MANY COME IN THE PACKAGE!!  JUST ABOUT ANY SHAPE OR SIZE YOU WOULD EVER NEED!!  YOU MUST CONSIDER GETTING THESE!! (GIVE A HINT TO YOUR HUBBY, CHILD OR FRIEND TO CONTACT ME SO YOU CAN GET THESE AS A CHRISTMAS GIFT!!)

HERE IS THE FIRST LAYER MADE WITH EACH ORNAMENT HAVING 4 LAYERS FOLDED AND GLUED TOGETHER, THEN HOT GLUED TOGETHER IN THE MIDDLE.  (I USED TOMBOW TO GLUE EACH ORNAMENT TOGETHER WITH THE FOLDED DIE CUTS.)

A CLOSER VIEW OF EACH OF THE 5 SECTIONS OF THE BOTTOM OF THE ORNAMENT.
CLOSEUP OF BOTH LAYERS SO YOU CAN SEE THE TOP BULB SHAPED ORNAMENTS MADE FROM THE GLIMMER STRIPED PAPER.  YOU CAN ALSO SEE THE SPECIALTY GARLAND RIBBON FROM THE RETIRED RIBBON.

I USED MY CROP-A-DILE TO PUNCH A HOLE IN THE TOP AND USED LINEN STRING FOR THE HOOK TO ATTACH TO.  THE BUTTON COLORS ARE GREEN AND DEEP RED.  IT SHOWS UP BLACK BECAUSE OF THE LIGHTING.  SORRY.

THERE YOU HAVE IT.  I AM HAVING A CLASS THIS WEEK SO WE CAN MAKE SOME OF THESE.  TODAY THIS ONE IS GOING TO AN 82 YR OLD FRIEND FOR HER TREE.

HERE'S TO INKY FINGERS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS, Y'ALL.

WON'T YOU LEAVE ME A COMMENT?  I ENJOY HEARING FROM YOU AND KNOWING THAT YOU ARE CHECKING MY BLOG KEEPS ME GOING.  THANK YOU.

CUTE GIFT IDEA AND THANK YOU GIFT

TERRI WALKER, OUT IN "BLOGGIE LAND", POSTED THE IDEA OF PUTTING A NAIL FILE INTO OUR VERY TALL AND THIN CELLO BAGS.  I DECIDED TO USE THIS FOR MY AUGUST THANK YOU GIFTS AND HAD SO MUCH FUN MAKING THESE.

I COULD NOT FIND MY CAMERA AND WANTED TO GET A PHOTO QUICKLY SO I USED MY PHONE.  SORRY IT IS SUCH A BAD PHOTO.  I USED THE PACKING PAPER FROM PACKAGES IN THE MAIL AND CUT OUT THE FLOWER WITH MY BIG SHOT TO CREATE THE PRETTY FLOWER DECORATION AT THE TOP OF THIS LITTLE GOODIE BAG.  LOOK HOW NICELY THE NAIL FILE FITS INTO THE CELLO BAGGIE.  IT IS A SELF SEALING BAGGIE AT THE TOP. " EASY PEASY".

I USED MY LITTLE LABELS FRAMELITS AND STAMP SET TO MAKE THE THANK YOU LABEL BANNER ON TOP OF THE FLOWER.  I USED A CORDUROY BUTTON IN THE MIDDLE.

A BEAUTIFUL CLOSEUP OF THE FLOWER.  YOU CAN SEE THE THANK YOU BANNER VERY WELL AND SEE THAT I ALSO SPONGED SOME INK ON THE FLOWER EDGES AND ON THE BUTTON.

IF YOU ORDER ANY STAMPIN' UP! PRODUCTS FROM ME IN AUGUST, YOU WILL BE RECEIVING ONE OF THESE SPECIAL GIFTS AS MY THANKS FOR ALLOWING ME TO BE YOUR STAMPIN' UP! DEMONSTRATOR.

I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR COMMENTS ON THIS CUTE FLOWER-TOPPED NAIL FILE GIFT.
