MEANT TO BEE......SPECIAL GUEST TODAY

HEY BLOGGIES,

I am so glad you stopped by today.  I want to introduce you to some fun creations by one of my team members - KAREN PARTIPILO.

Karen has such a sense of style in her creations and I really love the ones I am sharing with you today.

Karen sponsored a bridal shower for a relative recently.  She designed and created the invitations, the theme, the food, the name tags and much more.

Let's start with the invitation:

MEANT TO BEE - with the bee and honeycomb theme chosen, Karen used the honeycomb embossing folder on the so saffron card stock for the base of the invite.  She lined the back of the invitation with burlap and let the frayed edges just peek out for all to see.  She tied some lace around and hung a bee charm with some bakers twine off of the lace.

As each guest arrived at the bridal shower, Karen had a special name tag waiting for them to write their name on it and pin it on.  This helped out of town guests to know all the attendees.

Karen even carried the theme into the refreshments.  Aren't these cookies adorable??>!!  Sugar cookies decorated with yellow icing and a sugar bee attached with frosting.  YUMMY

Here is a closeup of the cookie with the cute sugar bee.

A special party favor was given to each guest as they left at the end of the day...a honeycomb wax candle, complete with another bee charm and a special punched tag with the thank you note.

A month or so later she held another bridal shower for a relative and here is what she created for that one:

This is a lovely invitation in night of navy and blushing bride. The bodice of the dress has sheer ribbon threaded through, with pearls added.

I want to thank Karen for sharing her beautiful creations with all of us.  I know you have enjoyed these as much as I did.

Stop back again and see more lovely creations, won't you?

DON'T WORRY.......BE HAPPY!!

I love that song by Bobby Ferrin  "Doo, do do doodoododo, Don't Worry, be happy."

I saw this card from a fellow demonstrator Mary Alice (Hey gal!!) and just had to make one!!  It is such a cute layout.

BEE Happy indeed!!  Isn't this darling!!  The large flower punch on whisper white which has been first run through the polka dot EF.  Then the 1" punch cut out the middle where the bee is stamped on whisper white and lightly colored in body with daffodil delight marker.  The petite scallop punch is the punch the bee is on, and it is lifted up with stampin dimensionals.

The daffodil delight layer was run through the Big Shot with the honeycomb EF and then put onto the whisper white card base.
I smudged a bit with stamping my HAPPY on daffodil delight card stock and early espresso ink.  I cut the tail like a banner and attached it UNDER the bee punch with glue dots. The DSP is INTERNATIONAL BAZAAR from the big catalog with a layer of early espresso card stock underneath.

Here is the same card without the "Happy" sentiment.  You could use it for thank you, birthday, thinking of you, etc and put your sentiment accordingly.  The bee is from the COLLAGE CURIOS stamp set.

Thanks again to Mary Alice for this cute design.  And thanks for stopping by to see me.

Many of my customers have taken advantage of the free shipping which ends tonight at midnight.  Thanks to all of them for their orders.  I have a free gift for all those who order today.

LAST DAY OF SALE-A-BRATION BLOG HOP

Do you have a Sale-a-Bration flyer?  If you do not have a demonstrator, I would love to mail one to you.

For those of you who have a flyer, there is something I would like to point out.  I am the first to admit the flyer is a bit confusing.  It is in a different format than we usually see, so we have to search it very carefully so we don't miss anything.  It reminds me of the board game "CLUE".  You know, where Colonel Mustard used a knife in the ballroom.  ha   I first saw things I just HAD to get.  Then I went back and studied it more and saw some things I had not noticed before.  FREE ITEMS FROM OUR LARGE ANNUAL CATALOG. Ok, enough of business, now on to the creativity.

For this card I used very vanilla cs as the base and used  the FREE VINE STREET EMBOSSING FOLDER.  I then rubbed some Crumb Cake ink over the raised embossed images to help them show up more.

I used FREE SYCAMORE STREET DESIGNER SERIES PAPER along the bottom of my card, as well as FREE SYCAMORE STREET RIBBONS AND BUTTONS PACK.  L.O.V.E.  how all the colors coordinate with each product we use.

The FREE STAMP SET I used is called MADISON AVENUE STAMP SET.

I used mini pop dots to glue on the buttons on each flower.  I put a sliver of card stock into the button holes to make them look like they had been sewn.  Love the satin ribbon in pool party!!  The colors that coordinate with this DSP and what I used are:

ISLAND INDIGO
TANGERINE TANGO
POOL PARTY
RICH RAZZLEBERRY
GUMBALL GREEN

LOVE how the embossing folder and the stamp set coordinate so well, don't you?

My next card is a minimalist card that packs a lot of punch:

I LOVE bees!!  They are a symbol of industry, hard work and tenacity.  All the qualities that are good character traits to have.  Sorry for the lighting changing the color of the card stock.  It is DAFFODIL DELIGHT like this first photo.  The second photo makes it look like a different color and I am sorry for that.  My flash directly on the card is changing the color on my camera.

The other thing I love about bees is HONEY!!  I love the taste of honey.  I love whipped honey, honey butter and honey candy.  It is so yummy, isn't it?  So this HONEYCOMB EMBOSSING FOLDER is perfect for this card with my little bees.  The bee is from the stamping set COLLAGE CURIOS in the SPRING CATALOG and they are small stamps to go with small punches, small spaces like the honeycomb, and small embellishments like the small POP CAPS.
Notice the awesome new ribbon?  It is NATURAL TRIM from the SPRING CATALOG.  It has a lot of texture and is very nice to work with.  I also used CRYSTAL EFFECTS on top of the bees on the HONEYCOMB EMBOSSING FOLDER for that shiny effect like they are inside their cell of the honeycomb.

The sentiment is from CIAO BABY STAMP SET from the SPRING CATALOG and I used the FREE PETITE CURLY LABEL PUNCH from SALE-A-BRATION.  I also used the CURLY LABEL PUNCH from the big catalog as the back layer punched from FREE SYCAMORE STREET DESIGNER PAPER.

A closeup of my special detail of the small POP CAP, crushed on my BIG SHOT with a 3/4 INCH PUNCH glued on the top.  I punched a small hole with my 1/16 INCH HAND HELD PUNCH for my mini pin to go through to attach my embellishment to the trim.  Isn't that darling??!!  Do you like honey or bees?
