MY BIG SHOT & DIE CUT FALL WREATH

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have another 'FLASH BACK" POST  to share with you today.  With a new leaf set out in our Holiday Catalog  AND thinlet dies, I thought I would share the one I made two years ago and is on my door starting this weekend:

http://txjennywren.blogspot.com/2013/10/fall-paper-wreath-look-on-page-185-of.html

I also wanted to share a photo to entice you to see this previous post above.

I chose to use mostly solid cardstock here and then I used my woodgrain embossing folder to create the texture, pattern.

Here is the wreath my friend, Karen P. made at our wreath class.  She used patterned papers in the darker browns and oranges with a touch of green.  She even created a banner to attach with painted clothes pins.  Very nice Karen.

Thanks for stopping by.  If you have any questions, let me know.

FALL PAPER WREATH - LOOK ON PAGE 185 OF THE BIG CATALOG

HEY BLOGGIES,

I am so happy you came back to visit me today.  I wanted to show you the wreath I made for fall.  I used the photo on page 185of the big catalog.  I love all the ideas you can get from our catalogs, don't you?

My team mate Karen and I made these wreaths this week without any directions and we think they came out pretty good.

I used my BIG SHOT and the AUTUMN ACCENTS BIGZ DIE.  I put 4 or 5 sheets of card stock on the die at one time and VOILA - they were all cut with one pass!!  GOTTA LOVE THAT!!

I also used some designer paper for some of the leaves.

I then ran some of the solid card stock leaves through the BIG SHOT and the WOODGRAIN embossing folder.  Some with ink; some without. It gave the leaves great texture.

Here is a closeup so you can see the leaves  individually.  There are also acorns on this same die.

Here is a photo of Karen's wreath using non-Stampin' Up! papers:
She did a wonderful job, didn't she?  I LOVE the banner she added at the bottom with clothes pins.

Hope you enjoyed our wreaths.  Thanks for stopping by.  We would love to hear some comments.

FALL BLOG HOP - DAY THREE -- LEAVES AND ACORNS

HEY BLOGGIES,

Boo Hoo, this is our final day of our GLITTER QUEEN FALL BLOG HOP.  I wish it would go on forever.  I am so enjoying all the projects and inspiration, aren't you?

Here is my inspiration for you today:

I have shown this when I entered it into Create with Connie and Mary Challenge.  But I made it with YOU in mind for this HOP!!  The coastal cabana card stock has same color ink stamped all over the background and inked around the edges lightly. I stamped the GIVE THANKS twice to give it a shadow effect - once in coastal cabana and once in the soft suede.

The crushed curry maple leaves are from AUTUMN ACCENTS BIGZ DIE and my BIG SHOT.  So are the acorns.  I also used the WOOD GRAIN EMBOSSING FOLDER to add texture to the leaves.

I used a piece of the NATURAL COMPOSITION SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPEr with the wood grain on it for a tag and rubbed ink on it to bring out the wood grain.  I also used the new CHALK MARKER to add some highlights to the acorns.

A little ribbon and all done.

Hope you liked this card.  I am really liking the colors of the acorns.  Thanks for stopping by.

COME BACK TOMORROW BECAUSE I WILL HAVE SOME MORE FALL CREATIONS FOR YOU EVEN THOUGH THE BLOG HOP WILL BE OVER.

Next up is DEE.  Tell her hello for me and enjoy her creations.

THANKFUL CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Welcome to my blog this fine Wednesday in September.  We are excited around these parts of Texas because we have TWO CHANCES FOR RAIN this weekend - from the dispersed hurricanes from Mexico and from the storms moving out of Colorado.  We are PRAYING that we get both these storms so that we can start getting some moisture.  We have been in severe drought status for so very long.  Trees are showing great signs of stress, many are dying and things are generally crispy around here.

But, autumn is poking it's head in a few days to say hello, so that is the theme I picked for my card. My Time to Craft Challenge says choose autumn colors.    Create with Connie and Mary has a color challenge this week:
CCMCFALL13-03  I wouldn't have thought to put the soft sky in with those other two autumn colors, but it was FUN to stretch outside my comfort zone.

I used the soft sky as my base color and also pulled it back in with my sentiment.   I used the specialty paper with the woodgrain and rubbed chocolate chip ink over it before cutting it into a tag.  A small soft sky circle is where is reinforced the hole.

I double stamped my GIFT THANKS sentiment from the 25th Anniversary Best of Autumn stamp in both soft sky and baked brown sugar.  It gives it a nice shadow effect that I was looking for.

I used the AUTUMN ACCENTS BIGZ DIE for the curry leaves and rain them through the woodgrain embossing folder to give them some texture.  The acorns are also from this Bigz Die, and I used the NEW CHALK MARKER for the highlights on them.

One more full look at my card.  Now you can see that before I began I stamped color tone on tone with the Best of Autumn leaf all over the card before I began putting it together and even inked a small bit around the edges.

What do you think?  I would LOVE to HEAR FROM YOU.

LATE SUMMER FADING GREEN LEAVES CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Thanks for stopping by my little part of the world to see what I have created today.  Sorry I was so late in getting my card up for today, but I was running errands most of the day.  I could not wait to come home to create my entry for the MOJO MONDAY challenge and get it up.

Here is what I came up with from their design challenge:

My card base is pistachio pudding card stock, with a layer of pear pizzazz and a small layer of basic black.  I used a non SU embossing folder of leaves because SU does not carry anything like this.

My embossed layer got some sponging over just a few of the embossed leaves.  I have a 1/8" basic black ribbon with a faux bow of black and white plaid attached.  I used A ROUND ARRAY stamp set for my round THANK YOU and punched with two different sizes of scallop punches.

I used my BIG SHOT and the AUTUMN ACCENTS BIGZ DIE to die cut the leaves and then ran them through the WOODGRAIN EMBOSSING FOLDER for texture.  Sponged a little bit of black around the edges and VOILA - all done.

I am pleased with how it came out.  Do you like?  I am ready for it to get a bit cooler, but I will certainly miss my beautiful GREENS of summer.  I also wanted to use the Autumn Accents die with something other than fall color leaves and I think this came out well.

Thanks for stopping by.  Come on back now, ya' hear?
