LATE NIGHT STAMPERS COLOR CHALLENGE

HEY BLOGGIES,

Here is my card for the Late Night Stampers Color Challenge:

I used Gorgeous Grunge and Best of Autumn stamp sets from SU!.  The colors to use for this 2 week challenge are cherry cobbler, tangerine tango, crushed curry and early espresso.

I also used the cute little box of tags called Stamp A Tag Kit.  I just added some ribbons on the tags and separated them with some early espresso card stock behind them to complete the card.

Hope you enjoyed this card.  Come back for our blog hop starting tomorrow.

FALL BLOG HOP - DAY THREE -- LEAVES AND ACORNS

HEY BLOGGIES,

Boo Hoo, this is our final day of our GLITTER QUEEN FALL BLOG HOP.  I wish it would go on forever.  I am so enjoying all the projects and inspiration, aren't you?

Here is my inspiration for you today:

I have shown this when I entered it into Create with Connie and Mary Challenge.  But I made it with YOU in mind for this HOP!!  The coastal cabana card stock has same color ink stamped all over the background and inked around the edges lightly. I stamped the GIVE THANKS twice to give it a shadow effect - once in coastal cabana and once in the soft suede.

The crushed curry maple leaves are from AUTUMN ACCENTS BIGZ DIE and my BIG SHOT.  So are the acorns.  I also used the WOOD GRAIN EMBOSSING FOLDER to add texture to the leaves.

I used a piece of the NATURAL COMPOSITION SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPEr with the wood grain on it for a tag and rubbed ink on it to bring out the wood grain.  I also used the new CHALK MARKER to add some highlights to the acorns.

A little ribbon and all done.

Hope you liked this card.  I am really liking the colors of the acorns.  Thanks for stopping by.

COME BACK TOMORROW BECAUSE I WILL HAVE SOME MORE FALL CREATIONS FOR YOU EVEN THOUGH THE BLOG HOP WILL BE OVER.

Next up is DEE.  Tell her hello for me and enjoy her creations.

One last look and you can see inside I used a small strip of my emboss resist paper  from yesterday.

FALL BLOG HOP - DAY ONE

HEY BLOGGIES,

Welcome to our GLITTER QUEENS FALL BLOG HOP.  I am the third hop but if you just started here, not to worry.  We loop our addresses around so you can start from anyone's blog.

Wasn't Jan's creation just wonderful??!!  Great job Jan!

For my creation today, I first have to tell you that I LOVE FALL.  And since I am from central TEXAS, we kind of don't have the fall season.  Certainly not like other places, such as New England, which is where I am originally from.  Massachusetts is my home state and we can boast about fall for sure!!

But the thing I miss the most about fall is the smell of burning piles of leaves.  I know a lot of communities do not allow burning the leaves anymore because of pollution, etc.  But when we lived in Massachusetts, that was the ONLY way to get rid of so many leaves.  Rake them into huge piles and burn them down.

So, that being said, here is my first fall card for you:

This is a colorful emboss resist technique which reminds me of elementary school art.  In school, we would first color with crayons over the entire paper.  Then we would paint black or brown over it with tempera paint. (did you use tempera paints too?)  Then after it was dry, we would scrape off the paint where we wanted the picture to be.  VOILA...kind of like the chalkboard technique, yes?

Well, no crayons or tempera paints used here.  Instead, I first used a sponge and rubbed areas of color all over my piece of white card stock with ink.  I used fall colors.  Then I stamped the leaf image from BEST OF AUTUMN stamp set (LOVE THIS SET) with versamark and then heat embossed with CLEAR EMBOSSING POWDER.

After the embossing, I used my sponge and black ink and rubbed all over the complete card, even where the leaves are.  When it is to your liking, you use a clean piece of paper towel and rub off the ink on each embossed image.  VOILA  Add it to your layers on your card and you are finished.  FINI

Hope you enjoyed my card.  Here is what the BEST OF AUTUMN stamp set looks like from Stampin Up!
Only $14.95:
It is a wonderful stamp set and I know you will love it.  It comes in CLEAR STAMPS only.  IF you purchase 6 of the BEST OF...  stamp sets, you get a FREE STAMP SET OF YOUR CHOICE.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  Now hop on over to DEE's blog and see what she has to offer you.

We hope you will enjoy it all AND THIS IS A THREE DAY BLOG HOP so you will get plenty of inspiration!!

THANKFUL CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Welcome to my blog this fine Wednesday in September.  We are excited around these parts of Texas because we have TWO CHANCES FOR RAIN this weekend - from the dispersed hurricanes from Mexico and from the storms moving out of Colorado.  We are PRAYING that we get both these storms so that we can start getting some moisture.  We have been in severe drought status for so very long.  Trees are showing great signs of stress, many are dying and things are generally crispy around here.

But, autumn is poking it's head in a few days to say hello, so that is the theme I picked for my card. My Time to Craft Challenge says choose autumn colors.    Create with Connie and Mary has a color challenge this week:
CCMCFALL13-03  I wouldn't have thought to put the soft sky in with those other two autumn colors, but it was FUN to stretch outside my comfort zone.

I used the soft sky as my base color and also pulled it back in with my sentiment.   I used the specialty paper with the woodgrain and rubbed chocolate chip ink over it before cutting it into a tag.  A small soft sky circle is where is reinforced the hole.

I double stamped my GIFT THANKS sentiment from the 25th Anniversary Best of Autumn stamp in both soft sky and baked brown sugar.  It gives it a nice shadow effect that I was looking for.

I used the AUTUMN ACCENTS BIGZ DIE for the curry leaves and rain them through the woodgrain embossing folder to give them some texture.  The acorns are also from this Bigz Die, and I used the NEW CHALK MARKER for the highlights on them.

One more full look at my card.  Now you can see that before I began I stamped color tone on tone with the Best of Autumn leaf all over the card before I began putting it together and even inked a small bit around the edges.

What do you think?  I would LOVE to HEAR FROM YOU.

BEST OF AUTUMN - 26TH ANNIVERSARY STAMP SET FOR SEPTEMBER

BEST OF AUTUMN

It is now time to transition into fall, and this month’s Best of stamp set, “Best of Autumn,” is the perfect set to help you with your crafting needs—such as making a card or a tag for a gift.
I used the leaf and greeting images to create my project. Gold is very popular right now and I wanted to incorporate it—so I gold-embossed a few leaves and colored the cut-up doily pieces using a Sponge Dauber and the Gold Metallic Encore Pad. Last, I rubbed the gold ink pad around the edges of my frame to give it a more rustic feel.
This framed piece would be perfect to use on your mantel or entry table—or even to give as a gift. It will be sure to get everyone excited about the fall season!
