Ok, here we go with my cards:

This weekend starts the HOUSTON LIVESTOCK SHOW AND RODEO and it is a BIG DEAL around these parts.  Whether your kids are showing their animals in the livestock show, or if you wanted to see all the animals, or you love the carnival rides or you mostly wanted to see the rodeo competition, you still get to see top recording artists performing.  It IS REALLY A BIG DEAL FOR MORE THAN TWO WEEKS.

Everyone dresses up in their western attire and people watching is definitely part of attending the show.  Today, I used the BOOTIFUL OCCASIONS stamp set.  Here is what the stamp set looks like:

I decided to do a card to go along with our RODEO THEME:

And here is my first card:

I used the Woodgrain Embossing folder and inked it up before pressing it with my BIG SHOT into my pool party card stock.

I like to cut my sentiment off of the main image stamp and use them as two different stamps.  That gives me more versatility in stamping.

I put some linen thread behind the circle punched boot.  I also put some dimensional glimmer on the stars on the boot.  Oh, and I used the light Coastal Cabana Blendability to color the bottom of my boot.

For my second card, I saw this idea on Pinterest from SUDSOL and fell in love with the idea:

\
The dress is made from a cupcake paper that I stamped with the KINDA ECLECTIC stamp set and melon mambo ink.  I used the sweetheart punch to punch out the bodice of the dress and some pompom trim for the belt.

The boots were stamped, colored with markers and then fussy cut out and attached with stampin dimensionals.  I added tiny pearls for some rodeo BLING on the boots.

I used the sentiment from Bootiful Occasions and punched it out with large oval punch, then layered with scalloped oval punch.

One more look at the full card:

I had fun creating this card and hope it gave you a chuckle!! (EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas!!)

Thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win the blog candy!!

GLITTER QUEENS BLOG HOP -- DAY TWO

HEY BLOGGIES,

Hope you are enjoying our three day blog hop.  If you missed yesterday, just scroll down to my post below this one and you can start there.

BLOG CANDY ALERT:  I am giving away blog candy.  All you have to do is each day leave me a comment and at the end of three days I will draw a winner from those who commented on all three posts.  You can add your comments up until midnight Wednesday for all three days for your chance to win.  It is a brand new punch, some new ribbon and a few other things I am getting together.

I am very pleased with this card.  I used the starburst from KINDA ECLECTIC as the light coming from the lightbulb.  Then I stamped and fussy cut a lightbulb, colored it with my markers and added Crystal Effects to make it shine like a glass bulb.  Sponging crushed curry around the card added that last little color that this card needed.

This closeup helps you see the shine from the Crystal Effects and how silky the new Hello Honey satin stitched ribbon is.  I love this new ribbon.

I used my small banner punch to punch out the YAY! that I stamped from this set.  And a circle punch was used to make the arched banner with the sentiment.  Hope you enjoyed this card.  Here is another one with the same stamp set:

I saw this idea using this Sale-a-Bration Set from an International stamper.  I changed it up a bit to make it my own.  I used smoky slate ink stamped off once for the stars and the light bulbs.  I used YOU BRIGHTEN MY DAY which is FREE with a $50 order during Sale-a-Bration.

I stamped on Vellum Card Stock with my CONGRATS and SO HAPPY FOR YOU from another Sale-a-Bration Set called SIMPLY WONDERFUL, WHICH YOU CAN ALSO GET FREE WITH A $50 ORDER!!

You Brighten My Day item #139103 Wood or #139106 Clear

GLITTER QUEEN BLOG HOP - DAY ONE

HEY BLOGGIES,

THANKS so much for hopping with us on our three day "WISHING FOR SPRING" BLOG HOP.  Our leader, DAWN GRIFFITH, is starting our hop each day.  We are all linked into a circle so if you hop in the middle, no problem, just go to the next one from the NEXT button at the bottom and you will get to see us all.

Today I decided to use a set that has been one of my favorites for quite some time.  It is in our big Annual Catalog and is called KINDA ECLECTIC.  Maybe that is what I can use to describe myself - kinda eclectic.  No special style but a whole bunch of a lot of styles.  ha ha

Here is what the stamp set looks like if you don't already have it:

Kinda Eclectic Clear-Mount Stamp Set  item #135350  Price:  $19.95
Here is my first card I made with this set.  Hope you enjoy it:

I love the polka dot background stamp.   I am using it in a lot of my cards, not just the cards where I use the rest of this set.  It is a great versatile stamp.

I took this sideways photo so you could see I punched out a second stamped image of the middle area.  I just wanted to give it that dimension.  Then I die cut in black the word THANKS and added that on top of the punched out middle.  I added stampin' dimensionals behind the other part of the word so it all sticks up.

One more look at my card.  Sorry the flash made the white card stock look yellow.

Thanks for stopping by.

HOLIDAY BLOG HOP - DAY 3

HEY BLOGGIES,

Have you been enjoying the hop?  I certainly have and am inspired by everyone's projects.

One of the things I LOVE to make are these special banners that fold up into these metal cases.  I give them to special friends and they are also great to mail in an envelope.  The metal case protects them on their trip.

You can make the letters in several ways.  Use the Alphabet Die for your Big Shot, use the stencil that comes with the Banner Kit in the Holiday Mini Catalog, or I used some retired alphabet sheets that were on the clearance rack.

I used the wide 1 1/2" striped ribbon.  This year they have the beautiful cherry cobbler wire edged ribbon you could use.  Use TWO scallop squares and glue them on both sides of the ribbon for each letter.

I used the postage punch and some designer paper here, also a button.

I love adding the ornament inside the "O", and hanging it with a ribbon and cord.

We decorated each scallop square any way we desired.  Here is a button and a tree with pearls.

Putting it on our table protector pages, it gives you an idea of just how large and beautiful these are.

Here is the metal tin decorated and all tied shut to be delivered to that special someone.  The banner is folded up inside this pretty tin.  A GREAT gift!!

Hope you enjoyed my idea.  You can spell whatever you want and use whatever papers, ribbons, punches, and embellishments you desire to create your OWN banner.  HOPE, PEACE, LOVE, etc. are just a few suggestions for what you would make with YOUR banner.  I would love to see what you create.  Please share with me if you make one from my inspiration, won't you?  I would really enjoy seeing what YOU CREATE!!

Next up is my friend DE.  Click the next photo below and go see what fun she has prepared for you.
