YOU BRIGHTEN MY LIFE

HEY BLOGGIES,

Do you ever make a second or third card of the same design because you loved that design so much?

Well, that is what I have for you today,  Months and months ago, I made this simple but cute card and I recently saw a photo of it and knew I had to make it AGAIN for someone special.,

First, I love the bright crushed curry with the quiet and unassuming gray.  Then I absolutely LOVE the little banner punches YAH, YAH, YAH.  I got the Beatles' song in my head as I made it, "She Loves YOU, YAH, YAH, YAH",.  Ha ha, now YOU have that song going around in YOUR head!!

I used the Kinda Eclectic sunburst behind the light bulb so it looked like the bulb was shining.  I used a ton of Crystal Effects on the bulb itself to make it all shiny (sorry the photo doesn't show it very well.)

The bitty banner under the bulb says YOU BRIGHTEN MY LIFE.  I just can't stand it when my phone won't take a clear focused shot.  I didn't notice that you can't read that saying until I posted it tonight.  And the problem is I ALREADY MAILED IT!!  soooooo sorry.

I would love to hear about the time you made several of the same card because you loved the design.  Especially if it did it weeks or months after the construction of the first one!!

Thanks for visiting.  Happy Tuesday evening to y'all.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY AMERICA

HEY BLOGGIES,

Happy Independence Day to all and a great big THANK YOU to all our veterans who have helped keep our land free.

Today I have a fun interlocking star card with a July 4th color theme.  I had this card in my mind for a while when I saw one with circles, but I wanted to try it with star framelits instead.  Tell me what you think, won't you?

Cherry cobbler, night of navy and smokey slate card stock was used.  I used the Star Framelits to cut out the stars and adhered them on the side fold card to have them interlock as the way to close the card.

Here it is completely closed so you can see how the stars fit together.  The sentiment banner uses Pewter embossing powder and the sentiment is from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set.  The little die cut is from a package I got from Michaels last year after the holiday was over.

I used a French translation stamp set of Lots of Thanks and pewter embossing powder again for the inside of my card.  I used the inside piece of the interlocking star and adhered it where the two fit together if that right flap is closed into the inside.

One more look at the closed card.  The little polka dot flower is from the Festival of Trees paper pad from the holidays. Oh, and the border punch is retired but I still love it!!

Thanks for stopping by.  Stop at Sketch Frenzy Friday to see more cards with this week's sketch.

I also entered this at The Friday Mashup - use 3 elements.  Go see what else go entered there as well.

GLITTER QUEENS BLOG HOP -- DAY TWO

HEY BLOGGIES,

Hope you are enjoying our three day blog hop.  If you missed yesterday, just scroll down to my post below this one and you can start there.

BLOG CANDY ALERT:  I am giving away blog candy.  All you have to do is each day leave me a comment and at the end of three days I will draw a winner from those who commented on all three posts.  You can add your comments up until midnight Wednesday for all three days for your chance to win.  It is a brand new punch, some new ribbon and a few other things I am getting together.

I am very pleased with this card.  I used the starburst from KINDA ECLECTIC as the light coming from the lightbulb.  Then I stamped and fussy cut a lightbulb, colored it with my markers and added Crystal Effects to make it shine like a glass bulb.  Sponging crushed curry around the card added that last little color that this card needed.

This closeup helps you see the shine from the Crystal Effects and how silky the new Hello Honey satin stitched ribbon is.  I love this new ribbon.

I used my small banner punch to punch out the YAY! that I stamped from this set.  And a circle punch was used to make the arched banner with the sentiment.  Hope you enjoyed this card.  Here is another one with the same stamp set:

I saw this idea using this Sale-a-Bration Set from an International stamper.  I changed it up a bit to make it my own.  I used smoky slate ink stamped off once for the stars and the light bulbs.  I used YOU BRIGHTEN MY DAY which is FREE with a $50 order during Sale-a-Bration.

I stamped on Vellum Card Stock with my CONGRATS and SO HAPPY FOR YOU from another Sale-a-Bration Set called SIMPLY WONDERFUL, WHICH YOU CAN ALSO GET FREE WITH A $50 ORDER!!

GLITTER QUEEN BLOG HOP - DAY ONE

HEY BLOGGIES,

THANKS so much for hopping with us on our three day "WISHING FOR SPRING" BLOG HOP.  Our leader, DAWN GRIFFITH, is starting our hop each day.  We are all linked into a circle so if you hop in the middle, no problem, just go to the next one from the NEXT button at the bottom and you will get to see us all.

Today I decided to use a set that has been one of my favorites for quite some time.  It is in our big Annual Catalog and is called KINDA ECLECTIC.  Maybe that is what I can use to describe myself - kinda eclectic.  No special style but a whole bunch of a lot of styles.  ha ha

Here is what the stamp set looks like if you don't already have it:

Kinda Eclectic Clear-Mount Stamp Set  item #135350  Price:  $19.95
Here is my first card I made with this set.  Hope you enjoy it:

I love the polka dot background stamp.   I am using it in a lot of my cards, not just the cards where I use the rest of this set.  It is a great versatile stamp.

I took this sideways photo so you could see I punched out a second stamped image of the middle area.  I just wanted to give it that dimension.  Then I die cut in black the word THANKS and added that on top of the punched out middle.  I added stampin' dimensionals behind the other part of the word so it all sticks up.

One more look at my card.  Sorry the flash made the white card stock look yellow.

Thanks for stopping by.

KINDA ECLECTIC - THANK YOU CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

TODAY I HAVE OPENED UP MY NEW SET KINDA ECLECTIC AND USED IT FOR THE FIRST TIME.  I created this fun and simple thank you card using strawberry slush and pink pirouette.

The base of this card is very vanilla.  I am sorry it is showing so yellow in the photo.  I used strawberry slush ink for the sunburst and stamped it twice.  Then I punched out the middle of one of them with the scallop circle punch and popped it up on dimensionals.  The other stamp was stamped  using pink pirouette and stamped several times without reinking to make the light background.

You can see better in this side view how the punched middle is popped up before I added the "thanks" die cut.
Inside I created a similar design with the remaining parts of the sunburst after I had punched out the middle.  I lined it with strawberry slush card stock and stamped with memento black and a demonstrator photopolymer stamp set.

One more look at the front of the card.  I love pink and black together.  It is very striking and elegant.

Thanks for looking.  If you were not sure about obtaining this fun stamp set, I hope I have opened up some ideas for you to consider how versitle it can be.

I have entered this at SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY CHALLENGE.
