I have been enjoying water coloring digital prints and found a nice little card front size pack at Simon Says Stamp.  I colored two and make them into cards:

The photos dont show the shine I put with some glitter and glimmer pens.  But I am very happy with the colors.  I attached to a bright yellow card base.

I love the multi-sized candy dots that I got in one of my SSS card kits.  The red and yellow are perfect for this card.

The purple and the yellow are glimmered with a glimmer pen.  I really love this one in person.  It is so bright and it catches your eye.  I attached to a blue card base.

Thanks for stopping by.

Another finished CHARITY QUILT.  This baby quilt is being donated to SURMOUNTERS OF TEXAS, the Horse-based therapy program for Military with PTSD, brain injury or other injuries.  It takes place at a beautiful ranch in Burleson with more than 35 Gypsy Horses for the attendees to brush, walk and pet.  No riding, it is all "in hand".  They are having an event in Ft Worth for fun and to raise funds for this program, along with silent auctions, etc.

Here is the quilt:

I had scraps left over from the baby quilt I made for my newest grandson last year.  I loved the colors and just added a bit more so I could make another one.  I love the prints and how well the colors go together, don't you?

It is a wacky log cabin block quilt with two solids inserted because I ran out of the fabrics.

Hope you enjoyed this fun bright quilt.    Thanks for visiting.

A few weeks ago when the very very heavy rains hit Louisiana, my hubby and I were going the back way to our anniversary dinner and we came upon the most wonderful sight.

A flooded  cattle field filled with a huge flock of  ROSEATE SPOONBILLS with some CRESTED CARACARAS mixed in with them!!! I was thrilled to see them and had hubs pull over so I could take some photos.

You see I grew up in Florida and one of the places we lived was on the bay with a small island that Spoonbills used for their nesting site each spring.

What are CARACARA you ask? They are a very large black and white bird that I  is a tropical falcon.  Here is a closeup photo from the internet so you can see how they look.  In some of my photos you will see a large black bird with white markings, and that is the Caracara.

A very unusual large bird indeed!!  But unmistakeable in his shape and markings.

And internets image of the spoonbill:

The spoonbills range in color from white to light pink to hot pink.  Notice their unusual shaped "spoon" like bill.  They are water sifters and the bill is perfect for that.

Thanks for stopping by to see what is going on in my neck of the woods!!

I made a very simple, quick long tv quilt for the flood victims in Louisiana.  Many men from our church took all completed quilts with them to one of our churches in Louisiana while the men helped the flood victims tear out drywall, dispose of damaged items, etc.  The quilts as well as many more items were given out to those who lost everything with these damaging floods.

A sister in church has a long arm quilting machine and she practiced quilting two solid pieces of brushed cotton with a very thin piece of batting in it.  Then she donated it to those of us who are making the quilts for charity.  I then put two pretty scrap blocks, one on each side, and bound it in multi color strips.

 Here is the black side.

And here is the red side.

You can see the solid multi colored strips I used for the thin binding.  I like how it came out.  I think it would be great for a teen boy or even a dad.
Thanks for stopping by.
