BUTTERFLIES...TIME FOR LOTS OF BUTTERFLIES

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today just feels like a BUTTERFLY kind of day.  Here are some flashbacks of butterfly cards I did over several years.

On this monochromatic card I stamped my butterfly with versamark onto a pale patterned paper, which reads like a solid.  I then used early espresso embossing powder. I also sponged with ink around the edges of the DSP.

I LOVE this technique AND this card.  I stamped with versamark and used white embossing powder for the Monarch background stamp.  Then I sponged several shades of tan and brown inks just around the butterfly and inside it.  Then finally I used a clean cloth to rub the ink off the white E.  It is a striking card, isn't it?

I used my aqua painter and inks in the pink family to color this embossed butterfly.  Then I thought it needed one more thing so I used some dazzling details here and there to make it sparkle!!

All three of these cards were made with the Monarch background large stamp.  And they all used the heat embossed technique one way or another.

For your orders this month, if you use hostess code: SKHWXU2J you will be entered in the drawing for the hostess dollars to spend.

Hope you enjoyed my flashback to the butterflies post today.  Thank you for stopping by!!

WELL THAT IS JUST "PEACHY KEEN"

hey bloggies,

Sorry I have been a bit quiet this week.  Lots of work going on to sell our home and lots of showings so I have to leave for 30 minutes each appointment.  That equals not much stamping!!

Today I have a card to go with our current sketch on SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY.

I used the sketch to start my creativity, but strayed a bit from it.  Instead of banners I used stamped arrows.  Hope you like it:

Here is my take on the sketch with lots of fun arrows and spears.  Love the stamp set PEACHY KEEN.

I got a card similar to this at Leadership from my roomie DJ, a demo from Austin.  Thanks DJ for the idea!!

Heat embossed the sentiment and punched it out with extra large circle punch, then popped it up on dimensionals.  I love the spring colors of the coastal cabana, baked brown sugar, summer starfruit, and crisp cantaloupe.  The card base is coastal cabana with a layer of crisp cantaloupe underneath the whisper white main layer.

Thanks for stopping by,  Pop over to Sketch Frenzy Friday to see the other team member's cards and to enter YOUR creation on the site as well.

Come back again for some more creativity, won't you?

HAPPY DECEMBER

Wow!!  November FLEW BY, didn't it?  It is now DECEMBER already!!  Here in Texas we are in a cold snap so it really is feeling like December AND Christmas.

I have been working on my Christmas cards to mail out.  I showed you what I am sending out before, but here it is again so you can see it.  Looks clean and simple, but it is NOT simple with all the embossing.  However, I LOVE IT.
Very vanilla piece for front is textured using the embossing folder and the big shot.  Then a layer of wild wasabi and cherry cobbler underneath the very vanilla piece that has the stamped images.

I stamped the images in versamark and then heat embossed with fine gold embossing powder.  I then used a versa marker to color in the sections of the ornaments and used wild wasabi and cherry cobbler embossing powder, some with iridescent ice mixed in for sparkle.  The center of the largest ornament has microbeads glued on.

I would love to hear your comments and suggestions.  I just felt like a ribbon did NOT work on this card so that you would totally focus on the ornaments and the embossing.  Inside you can use any sentiment you want.  I used a simple one form the Four the Holidays in French:  Joyeux Noel.

Here's to inky fingers for all!!
