TEXAS LONE STAR CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I made a Texas Lone Star Card.  I actually made four of them.  It is a very easy card to create and I really enjoyed the process.  I saw this card on Frenchie's blog (France Martin) and knew I had to case it!!  Thanks Frenchie for the idea and video.  It was so fun to make.

Here is the first card I made.  The star framelits die is used and then you score from the tip of each star point to make it be a 3D star.  I used the Woodgrain embossing folder, but Frenchie used the woodgrain stamp for her card.

This second card here I stamped the sentiment from You've Got This stamp set in Cajun Craze ink.  I realized immediately it was not showing up very well.  So, I created a tag with a layer behind it and adhered it on top of the stamped sentiment.  I think it looks much better below, don't you?

Here is the one I sent in the mail today.  I added the 1 1/4" burlap ribbon near the bottom, and then some strips from the ribbon behind the star and as a knotted element on top of the star.

The embossing is supposed to look rustic and rusty, so after you use versamark ink and add gold embossing powder, you rub some of it off before you heat set it.  Then after it has cooled, you add sponged ink here and there to add some color.  I embossed it on some light blue retired card stock, then sponged cajun craze ink over it here and there.  It doesn't show that much, but it makes it very rustic looking.

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks to Frenchie again for this idea.  L.O.V.E.   I.T.

YeeHaw, Go Texas!!

BOHEMIAN BORDERS SYMPATHY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Hope you are all doing well.  We have some joy in our family this week:  our 8th Grandchild was born this week!!  A sweet tiny little boy named Levi.  How such a tiny thing can wiggle into your heart so quickly is a mystery.  But I feel such love for him already!!

Today I have an idea for a different way to use Bohemian Borders stamp set.  I made it into a flower-type of shape.  Enjoy:

There was a death in the family this week so I made this sympathy for the son of the deceased.  I feel like the colors make it a good card for a man.  But mostly it will be the letter I will write inside that will be the most important part of this card.

The very small layers behind the stamped layer is from the Bohemian DSP.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

I am entering this at Sketch Frenzy Friday.  Thanks for stopping by.

SHAKER CARD WITH SPRINKLES OF LIFE

HEY BLOGGIES,

Believe it or not I have NEVER made a shaker card!!  But today I have one to share with you and it was fun and easy to create.

I used Watermelon Wonder, the new In Color.  The oval behind the shaker is Mint Macaron, also a new In Color.

The stamp set Sprinkles of Life stamp set is a Charity Set that Stampin' Up! donates $3.00 to the Ronald MacDonald House Project for each set that is sold.  It also has a matching Tree Punch that punches out the icing, cherry, a tree, leaves and a few other things all on one punch.

I used my Oval Framelits to cut out the border around the window, as well as the window and the sticky fun foam I used as my frame on the back of the front panel to put the sequins inside.  Sticky fun foam can be obtained at most of your craft stores.  I used two layers stuck together.

I am entering this (a bit late) at the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY challenge.  Pop over there to see what the other design team members have created, won't you?

I also am entering this is the ALOHA FRIDAY CHALLENGE:  BIRTHDAY.

LOTS OF RAIN HERE AGAIN...A CARD TO CELEBRATE THE BRIGHTER SIDE

TROPICAL STORM BILL has hit the Texas coast.  And the rains are covering most of mid and east Texas - including US!!

My good friend Tammy and I did some fun rainbow and showers cards.  I would like to share mine with you:

She had the new Lawn Fawn Rainbow die and we made a fun glitter rainbow with it.

This is the inside to complete the statement started on the front:  going thru both sunshine and showers bring RAINBOWS!!  What a great thought to help us get through the tough times, don't you think??!!

I used one pattern paper for the stormy cloud and the other two are whisper white cardstock on a cardboard die cut, then I used some grey Copics to color the clouds.  I used Stampin' Up! markers for the sun die cut.  I used a retired raindrop stamp and used a very light grey ink then covered the raindrops with Crystal Effects.

I added 6 mini colored pearls on the clouds for a little added dimension.

I am entering this card in the TRY STAMPIN' ON TUESDAY rain challenge.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

BOHEMIAN BORDERS EVERYDAY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

I used my new BOHEMIAN BORDERS PHOTOPOLYMER STAMP SET for the first time this week.  I also used several of the NEW IN COLORS on my card as well.

I used DELIGHTFUL DIJON for the background of my card and MINT MACARON  is the background layer behind my die cut letters "HELLO".

Here is a close up of my sentiment using the LITTLE LETTERS DIES.  I used Early Espresso cardstock for the letters.

Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder were the other two colors I used with my stamped images.

I used the sketch this week at SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY.

Thank you for visiting with me today.  Pop over to SFF to see what the other team members created.  Won't YOU participate in our sketch challenge as well?  We would LOVE to see what you create.

SWEET BIRTHDAY CARD FOR SWEET LITTLE GIRL

HEY BLOGGIES,

I HAVE A SWEET BIRTHDAY CARD FOR A SWEET LITTLE GIRL TO SHARE WITH YOU TODAY.

The Letter Press embossing folder was used on the front, and I colored the "A" with Mossy Meadow ink because it is A for Adeline.  The adorable alligator is from Zoo Babies set, and the balloons are from the Paper Pumpkin May 2015 kit.  The "to you" is from Endless Birthday Wishes photopolymer set.

On the inside, I used a die cut balloon from the May 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit, as well as the stamp that came in the kit.  I really LOVE this stamp with the swirly string!!

Oh, and I put the smallest rhinestones in his eyes and colored his heart PINK!!

Thanks for stopping by.  Please come back again, won't you?

BALLOONS AND BANNERS BIRTHDAY CARD FOR THREE CHALLENGES

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have a cute cute cute birthday card following sketches/challenges from three blogs this week.

1.  Sketch Frenzy Friday

3.  Just Add Ink Sketch:

Banners and Balloons are two of my favorite things for birthdays!!    I saw this card idea on Pinterest by Nicole T, a fellow demo.  I changed up the colors a bit to make it different.  Thanks, Nicole!!

Endless Birthday Wishes is the photopolymer stamp set I used.  And the bitty banner punch as well as the small star punch was used.

I used versamark and irridescent ice embossing powder for the Celebrate sentiment inside.  It is hard to tell in this photo, but it is very sparkly!!

I used Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon for the colors. I used my aqua marker to paint the ink on the birthday cake and to shade it.

I am enjoying this stamp set very much and so happy it is in the new Stampin' Up! catalog for another year!!  WOO HOO.

Thanks for stopping by.  Check out each challenge to see more wonderful cards from their challenge, won't you?

HEY BLOGGIES,

Here is an idea I came up with for the May 2015 birthday kit:

I stamped the balloon and cut out to create a mask.  Then I stamped three balloons in a group using the mask.  I added the strings and then fussy cut them out as one unit.

On this card I used washi tape and the thick baker's twine as the string on my very large round balloon.

Hope you enjoyed these alternate cards I created using May 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit.  What are you waiting for?  Click above to get YOUR 50% off of two months trial subscription.
