GATE FOLD BIRTHDAY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Whew, we are just trying now to dry up and blow away here in central Texas.  It has been 100* here this week and is not going away any time soon.  We are putting out a sprinkler for our horses each afternoon to give them a chance to cool off if they want to.  Several days they chose to let it get them wet and today they chose not to.  But at least it is there if they need it.  AND it waters the grass at the same time.

I told my hubby that it is too hot.  How hot is it?  I said it is so hot that the boys (my male horses) are too hot to try to be naughty!!  hee hee  Being naughty is my interpretation when they are bored and start looking for something to get into that they should NOT be into - like my canna plants or my pear tree.  Evidently those taste very good when you are feeling frisky!

Anyways, on to my card for this week.  I have made a gate fold birthday card using Sprinkles of Life and Bohemian DSP.

My gate fold card has two overlapping pieces.  The cupcake is adhered on the left and the sentiment is adhered on the right.   Coastal cabana card stock is one of the colors that coordinates with our Bohemian DSP.  I used white and coastal cabana as the two coordinating colors of the patterned paper I chose from this pack.

A closeup of my stamped images layered with coastal cabana cs and decorative label punch or circle punches.  I fussy cut the cupcake pieces. Cherry red square sequins adorn the sentiment piece.

The cherry on top with the small square sequin is covered with glossy accents.

I am entering my card in Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge.  Pop over to see the other design team members.

SEA STREET CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have a fun card made with SEA STREET stamp set:
I used bermuda bay for the main color.  I stamped the school of fish all over for my bottom background paper.

I made a tag with the tag topper punch and doodled with my black marker around it.  I put some resin star fish on it and attached it.

I stamped the three star fish and punched them out and added a layer punched behind and put them onto a starburst die cut black piece.

All made with Stampin' Up! except the resin starfish.

Thanks for stopping by.  This is for the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY CHALLENGE.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BALLOONS CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

I am a bit late for posting my Sketch Frenzy Friday card for this week.  Here it is without further ado:

I used the Balloon Dies to cut out the designer paper and backed it with whisper white.  The card base is bermuda bay and so is the ink. I put the speckles on the balloons with markers in the colors of bermuda bay, delightful dijon and rose red, and a sprayer.

Here was the sketch I worked from:

SIMON SAYS STAMP JUNE CARD KIT - YOU MAKE ME SMILE CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

I designed this card myself with the items from the June Card Kit, as well as using some cloud dies and stamps from Stamps of Life.

The Smile die is so much fun.  I love that they included this die in the kit.  The washi tape was also included in the kit.

I love the adorable little smiling sun puffy sticker.  It is so much.

I used a die from SU for the top of the sky, as well as soft sky ink.  And I used some wonderful moonstone drops underneath the clouds, unknown maker.

I am entering this card in the FRIDAY MASHUP! challenge this week - SUNSHINE.

Hope you enjoyed my card.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

BOHEMIAN PATTERNED PAPER AND A DRAGONFLY

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I have a card that made me stretch out of my norm.  It is a very simple card, just not the kind of card I usually make.  I used the sketch from SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY to create my card.  Here it is:

The strips are what was so hard for me because it is not something I would usually do.  But that is what's so fun about sketch challenges, isn't it?  To try something new.  I am so glad I did this card from the sketch.

The adorable dragonfly silver charm on the blackboard tag is my favorite thing on this card.  I was going to stamp the dragonfly from the Awesomely Artistic, but one of my team mates already did that so I had to change midstream to something different.  I still went with the dragonfly, but did a silver charm attached to a blackboard tag instead.  How is that for AWESOMELY ARTISTIC!!

Thanks for visiting my blog.  Stop over at SFF to see the other entries.

SIMON SAYS STAMP JUNE CARD KIT - THIRD CARD I MADE

HEY BLOGGIES,

I forgot to mention that a lot of these ideas for using the card kit came from the design team for SSS.  I love that they give us alternate ideas for using the supplies in the kit.  However, today this design is completely MINE.

The SUMMER paper was in the DSP pack and I cut it out to be square.    I LOVE these adorable resin FLIP FLOPS and knew I just HAD to use them on this card.  Remember, when you use items that add thickness to your card to add another stamp and put 'PLEASE HAND CANCEL' on the envelope.

Here is a fun die cut balloon for the inside of the card.

The cute sunglasses is from the puffy stickers included in the kit.  This is a card that screams summertime to me.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  IF you have any questions, let me know.  I got the flip flops from Ebay.

SIMON SAYS STAMP - JUNE CARD KIT. ANOTHER CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have another card today from the June Kit from SSS.  LOVING the stamps and the SMILE die.

I used my SSS Balloons die to go along with the June Card Kit from SSS.  Also the scalloped rectangle die.

I used the patterned papers that came with the kit for the balloons.  Tangerine embossing powder was used on SMILE stamped image.  I used a star stencil, mini star nail sequins and star sequins, plus a clear button as the embellishments.  Also the small tag with the sentiment stamped in black.

Thanks for stopping by.  If you have any questions, let me know.  In the meantime, SMILE!!

SIMON SAYS STAMP JUNE KIT - LOVE THE SUNSHINE!!

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have been having fun with the June SSS card kit.  I LOVE the sunshine stamp and all the puffy stickers and just everything about this kit.  I have made quite a few cards and will be sharing them this week with you.

The SMILE die was used to cut out both cardstock and fun foam to make it thicker before adhering to the card.  The sunglasses on the middle sun were fussy cut and then adhered.

I just can't help but smile when I look at these cute, CUTE suns!!  Aren't they adorable??!!
I used stitched square dies for the white layer, and a very little bit of black card stock shows behind the layer to bring your eyes to the main image.

One more look at this cute card from the SIMON SAYS STAMP JUNE CARD KIT.  If you are interested, sign up for the JULY CARD KIT.  Most card kits come with full stamp set AND a matching die (the smile for June), as well as patterned papers, solids, accessories, etc.  It is a great bargain and the fact that they all coordinate makes it so much FUN!!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY AMERICA

HEY BLOGGIES,

Happy Independence Day to all and a great big THANK YOU to all our veterans who have helped keep our land free.

Today I have a fun interlocking star card with a July 4th color theme.  I had this card in my mind for a while when I saw one with circles, but I wanted to try it with star framelits instead.  Tell me what you think, won't you?

Cherry cobbler, night of navy and smokey slate card stock was used.  I used the Star Framelits to cut out the stars and adhered them on the side fold card to have them interlock as the way to close the card.

Here it is completely closed so you can see how the stars fit together.  The sentiment banner uses Pewter embossing powder and the sentiment is from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set.  The little die cut is from a package I got from Michaels last year after the holiday was over.

I used a French translation stamp set of Lots of Thanks and pewter embossing powder again for the inside of my card.  I used the inside piece of the interlocking star and adhered it where the two fit together if that right flap is closed into the inside.

One more look at the closed card.  The little polka dot flower is from the Festival of Trees paper pad from the holidays. Oh, and the border punch is retired but I still love it!!

Thanks for stopping by.  Stop at Sketch Frenzy Friday to see more cards with this week's sketch.

I also entered this at The Friday Mashup - use 3 elements.  Go see what else go entered there as well.
