My grandson, Kyle, had his birthday this week and I made the cutest birthday card for him from the Button Buddies set.  Guess what - I forgot to take a photo of it before I gave it to him!!  ha ha  He is raising a Yorkshire pig again this year for FFA and so I used the pig stamp and put a button on it's nose.  I will see if I can get his mom to snap a photo and send it to me to post.  Sorry about that!!

Let me know what I can do to help you in your crafting this week, ok?

I also have a card for you today.  I was fooling around with many of my different punches and did a single layer card with a bunch of punches.  The stamped flower is from Button Buddies set.

Some of the punches I used are the 1", 3/4" and 1/2" round punches, the scalloped circle punch, and the boho blossoms punch.  My tag was made from the two different sizes of the tag punch.  I also used the scallop ribbon punch for the three strips on the right side.

The in colors that will be gone on June 1st are here in my card.  I scrunched, fluffed, pinched, bent and flipped the petals of these flowers to see what each thing would do to my flowers.  What do you think?  I like the different colors with each layer.  Makes it fun to me!!

Inky finger y'all!!

LAST DAY OF GLITTER QUEENS SPRING FLOWER BLOG HOP - FRIDAY

"SAY IT ISN'T SO-O-O-O-O-O, SAY IT ISN'T SO." (another song in my head!!)

This blog hop week went way too fast.  I keep coming up with more ideas to show you, so you just MUST keep visiting to see more fun ideas, ok?

I have my last spring flower card to share with you and then something for EASTER, ok?  This time I used the 1/2" Circle, Fancy Flower and the Five Petal punches with the Triple Treat Flower a-la-carte stamp (one single stamp at a bargain of $8.95 if you order it, OR for FREE if you have a $50 order and you get it free for a Sale-a-Bration item!!)  Hurry - Sale-a-bration ends in TWO WEEKS!!!

I used Pool Party, More Mustard and So Saffron for the card stock colors.  For Ink I used More Mustard, Island Indigo and Early Espresso.  I used some DSP and cut it like a ribbon banner, then layered the flower on top by punching out parts with the punches I named above.

Hopefully with this closeup you can see the 3 layers of this flower with 3 different punches.

Now I want to share a few fun ideas for EASTER.  The first one I saw from France Martin -(Hey Frenchie.) It is the cutest chick you have ever seen.  I used her idea and made a few slight changes to make it mine.

Isn't he the most adorable thing ever??!!  I used the scalloped circle die and MY BIG SHOT to cut him out.  Leave the top little bit inside the circle so it will not cut out and that will make your fold for your card.  I used daffodil yellow for the chick, and sponged around the edges of body, eyelids and wings.  The wings are clipped from the extra large scalloped circle punch.

I used a triangle of peach parfait and cut thin cuts into it for the "foofie" feathers on top of his head.  His beak is also peach parfait - hand cut a double triangle folded.  And circle punches for the eyes.

I used the It's a Wrap Holidays stamp set (item #122772 clear) for the inside greeting.  I used concord crush, melon mambo, lucky limeade and tempting turquoise markers to color the areas I wanted to stamp. My camera did not like photographing this daffodil yellow color - sorry about the bad photo.

My second project is the CUTEST LITTLE LAMB candy holder I have ever seen.  Again, thanks to Frenchie for the idea.

This lamb is created with the Two Tags die for the base.  Die cut the Two Tags die (just the scallop tag - 2 needed per lamb) and score from the bottom 1 1/4 inches on both pieces.  Put sticky strip along one piece and stick them together.  This makes the "box bottom" of the candy holder.

Next, use your Crop-a-Dile and punch a hole at the top of both tags for your string or ribbon.  I used Wisteria Wonder bakers twine.  Now comes the decorating.
It is hard to see the layer, but his head is a scallop circle in the same white.  His top knot or bangs is the largest flower on the boho blossoms punch, cutting 5 petals off and layering that on top of the bigger one.

The black face is the small oval punch with a bit of the top cut off.  The ears are the word window punch with 1/4 cut off and used as the hoofs or feet.  I think my next one I am going to very lightly sponge basic gray around the scallop circle punch head so it shows up better.  I used a soft subtle pink brad for the nose and the largest punch of the crop-a-dile for the eye and then used a black marker for the pupils.

Make sure you use some glue dots for your candy inside so it doesn't fall out.

Don't forget to leave me your comment for today for your final entries into the BLOG CANDY CONTEST.

THURSDAY ON OUR SPRING BLOG HOP

OH NO, THE WEEK IS ALMOST OVER.  I DON'T WANT THE FUN TO END!!

Oh my goodness this has been a great week and I have learned so much and gotten so many wonderful ideas.  Haven't you too? I LOVE what Tami has made this week in the blog right before mine, as well as all the other Glitter Queen's blogs too!!

My card "stash" is getting low so I am ready to make some of these cuties I have seen this week to get it back filled up again.  I LOVE to be able to grab a card when I need it - right out of my craftroom!!  So convenient and so special for the recipient to get a hand made card.

Let's take a look at my card for today:

I absolutely LOVE this embossing folder.  It is so elegant and actually the name is 'ELEGANT LINES'.  ha  After I embossed the whisper white card stock, I used the blossom punch and had it go slightly off the edge of the white card stock when I punched.  I saw this technique on Becky Roberts blog -( Hey Becky, thanks for this idea!!)

Behind the white I layered some fun flowery DSP (sorry, can't remember the name of it.) that has lucky limeade, melon mambo, and concord crush in the pattern.  I made sure some of the flowers were peeping through the hole before I cut it.
A little closeup here and you can see the DSP layer is peeping out all along the edge of the card too.  The card base is melon mambo and the polka dot ribbon is also melon mambo.  I then stamped with melon mambo ink the middle circle of the blossom and  punched out with the 3/4" punch.
This extra closeup shows you the flower punched out, the middle of the blossom is up on a dimensional and I added a medium pearl in the very middle. Oh, before I added it to the card, I sponged around the edge with melon mambo ink.

Inside I added the punched out white blossom for a little bit of decoration.

I also wanted to show something extra:  A way to make butterflies from this same blossom punch:

These cuties are the bottom 4 petals of a punched blossom of dsp.  I fold the blossom in half and then with a slight curve cut off the rest of the petals.  You can also cut a little bit out between the bottom wing section if you want.  I then sponged some ink in the middle and added 3 rhinestones for the body.  I just lightly arched the wings how I wanted them to be when I put them on my cards.  Aren't they cute? AND EASY!!

Hope you enjoyed this card.  FOR A CHANCE TO WIN BLOG CANDY:

1.  Leave me a message and tell me which embossing folder you like the best. (ONE ENTRY)

ANOTHER DAY FOR A BLOG HOP - WEDNESDAY

ARE YOU HAVING FUN YET??
I know you have enjoyed seeing all these fun projects from everyone on this hop, because I HAVE TOO!!  They are certainly some very talented gals I am hopping with, aren't they? And fun too!!

I have another flower card to show you.  This one is simple, but has a bit of pop to it.  I can't call it clean and simple because it uses stampin' dimensionals on one of the flowers and then the ribbon with the slider I made, but I think it is still a simple to do card with a lot of WOW!!

My card base is Blushing Bride, sponged with Calypso Coral around the entire edge.  The blossoms are stamped with Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Daffodil Delight.  The another coral one was stamped on whisper white cardstock and punched out with the new Blossom punch.  I also punched out a second middle punch and put that also on a dimensional to add some more texture.

I used the Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon and slid it through a slot I cut in the Four Frames Stamp set image so it is now a slider on the ribbon.  I stamped and punched out a "hello" from the hostess set Posy Punch.  That is where the middle of the punched out flower came from also.

This closeup helps you see how pretty and subtle the stamped blossoms are in daffodil delight and the lucky limeade, and how nicely the calypso coral coordinates with the blushing bride card stock.  PERFECTION!!  But my slit on the left of the slider was a bit too long,..so sorry.  But you get the idea!!

CARD #2:  Here is the same card changed up a bit.  After I looked at the first card for several days, I felt like something was missing.  So I got out my aqua painter and used the daffodil delight and calypso coral ink pads and lightly colored in the petals on the flowers.  I would LOVE to hear what you think.

I think it especially helped the main flower in calypso coral just POP for your eye, don't you?

SPRING BLOG HOP - TUESDAY

YIPPEE - YOU CAME BACK!!  THAT MEANS YOU ENJOYED OUR HOP YESTERDAY.  WAIT TILL YOU SEE WHAT EVERYONE HAS TODAY.

Here is the song that keeps playing in my head today:

"I love stamping in the springtime.  I love stamping in the fall..."

Well, a little poetic license to substitute "stamping" for "Paris".  But the truth is:  I LOVE STAMPING ALL THE TIME.  I have trouble some times squeezing out some time to go into my room and STAMP AND CREATE.  I SURE WISH I COULD DO IT MORE HOURS OF THE DAY BECAUSE I LOVE IT.

I love how creative I feel when I am using the coordinating colors of paper, card stock, ink, ribbon, doodads, dealywhops, whatchamacallits and all the fun things we can add to our scrapbook pages, cards, 3D items, etc., don't you??

Hope you enjoy my card I made for you today:

I had so much fun making this card.  I cut my cardstock at an angle to make it look like a flower pot.  The bottom is folded so together they make a little pocket.  I used the edge punch to create a cute edge to the pot and attached that to my card base.  Then I just tied a ribbon around the top and because it is wider as it goes down to the edge punch, the ribbon won't slide down and it stays closed.  HOW EASY PEASY IS THAT??

Here you can see it with the card lifted out of the pot.  The flowers are stamped and fussy cut out then attached to the part of the card where you write your note.  Mine is a birthday card so I stamped a birthday sentiment, but you can make yours a Mother's Day Card, an Easter Card or anything you want!!  See the rhinestones I put on the bottom sentiment on the pot?  I only added three to just give it a bit of bling.

This closeup shows you how I made the colors on these beautiful flowers.  I stamped them and embossed them so they had a bit of an edge around each part.  I then spritzed the flower with water and then touched my aqua painter into a puddle of reinker and then just barely touched the wet petal.  The color spread out from where I touched it.  I did it very lightly on the Easter Lillies because they are mostly white.  But I mixed a lot more color on the big rose.  After they were dry, I spritzed them with Smooch Spritz in Vanilla Shimmer. LOVE IT.  Gave each petal such a wonderful shine.  Then I used my glue pen and some dazzling diamonds on the stamens of the lillies for that added touch.  I believe this technique is called "water coloring" where you spray water on the stamped image and then lightly touch your aqua painter to the wet image.

The rose has 4 or 5 colors on it, just so you know.  That is how it blends and creates such rich colors.

I hope you enjoyed my flowerpot card and feel challenged to try your hand at this technique if you have not already done it before.  Heck, even if you did it a long time ago - it is time to do it again for THIS SPRING!!
Know what I am saying here?

WELCOME TO OUR SPRING BLOG HOP - MARCH 12-16

WELCOME, WELCOME STAMPERS AND PAPER CRAFTERS TO OUR SPRING BLOG HOP!

WE HAVE A FUN BUNCH OF GALS PARTICIPATING IN THIS HOP AND I THINK YOU ARE ENJOYING ALL THE CREATIVITY JUST OOOOOOOOZING FROM EACH BLOG, AREN'T YA?

You should have arrived here from Tamera's blog.  If you are just starting the hop, no worries, it will loop around and you will be able to visit all of us each day this ENTIRE WEEK.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE spring, don't you??  The best time of the year I think, with the birds nesting, the butterflies emerging, and the FLOWERS!!  So many beautiful flowers.  That is what has inspired us to do our spring blog hop - FLOWERS.

For my first card, I used the Blossom Petals Builder Punch and Build a Blossom stamp set to create each petal of my flower.  I stamped some on the card itself and punched some out after stamping on a scrap piece of cardstock.  I then glued the middle down and bend the petals to make it look more real by holding it bent with a glue dot.

A cute brad in the middle sure helps it look pretty, doesn't it?  And that sweet pink 1/8" ribbon too.

HOUSTON, WE HAVE LIFTOFF!!!

My monarch emerged from it's chrysallis this morning!!  I noticed yesterday that it became transparent and I could see the butterfly's wings.
If you click on it to make it larger, you should be able to see the black and white of the wings.

While I was on the phone this morning talking to my daughter, my butterfly was struggling to get out of it's chrysallis and emerge.  When I went outside, it was resting after that struggle.
Here it is sitting right above it's old home (the chrysallis), resting and letting the blood pump into it's wings.

A closer view of the new monarch butterfly.  It is hanging upside down off my plant.  It stayed there about an hour or more before adventuring off into it's new world.

Hope you have enjoyed this play-by-play of my monarch butterflys, starting when I found the caterpillars on my butterfly weed until today when it emerged from the chrysallis and flew away.

I have 7 new fat caterpillars on my bushes ready to begin their journey to becoming a beautiful butterfly!!

I am busy cutting and making packets for my Spring Blossoms stamp class to be held in one week.  I have 5 ladies signed up so far.  It will be fun and I will share with you in a few days.

Ink Fingers y'all!!

Friday Mashup AND SUO challenges entry

I created this card for the Friday Mashup as well as the SUO Challenge

I mashed it up by using two punches AND making it a lucky 4 leaf clover for St. Paddy's day.  The heart punch for the leaves and the oval punch, punched close together, to make the stem.  I even used TWO tag punch sizes for the "good luck" tag.  So I Mashed/Mashed it up!!  ha ha

And I made it GREEN and St. Paddy's for the SUO challenge.

Woo Hoo

Hope you enjoyed my card!!
