OLDIES BUT GOODIES FOR AN EASTER CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Sometimes using something you love even if it is retired is a good thing!!  I used a retired stamp that I absolutely loved last year (or was it two years ago?) and just had to create another card with this sweet set.

I believe the color of the card had a lot to do with why I wanted to do it again!!  Turquoise is an Easter color for me that I really like a lot.

 I used the sentiment as a background.

EASTER FLOWERS CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have another Easter card for you using LOVE IS KINDNESS.  I love tulips for springtime.  They are so pretty, aren't they?  Just wished they lasted longer than they do in a vase.  My card helps that!!    These flowers can last forever!!

I followed the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY sketch for this week:

 I am L.O.V.I.N.G. these colors together:  Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Very Vanilla - awesome!!

I used my aqua pen to color in the pretty blue tulips.  Then I used my old olive marker to color in the leaves.

One more look at my card.  I did a finger smudge on the newspaper wrap of the flowers and could just kick myself.  So sorry I messed it up like that.  I put the thick bakers twin with the droopy tie just like on the stamp.

This is a very pretty SINGLE STAMP that is so reasonably priced.  I just cut off the sentiment to use alone.  I created the background paper with another sentiment and pool party ink.

MY FIRST EASTER IDEA FOR YOU

Holidays always sneek up quickly on me and I don't get to make everything I want to before it comes and goes.  Does that ever happen to you?

Well, I thought since today is March first, I would share my FIRST Easter creation with you.

It is simple but cute, cute cute.

Punches and dies make this little darling card.  AND the Fringe Scissors too.  The card was made with the scallop circle die, leaving it hand over the edge of the fold just a little bit so the card is hinged on top.

The wings are also made from that die and I just cut four scallops off for each wing.  The eyes are circle punches,  The beak was fussy cut from a folded piece of card stock.  And the top knot is from the fringe scissors.

PAPER PIECED CARD - EASTER WISHES

I am right in the middle of getting our house ready to sell so we can move.  Same area just into the country more.  SOOO because of that, I have most of my craft room all packed and stored away safely.

But how can anyone go weeks without stamping or crafting??!!  I know I can't.  I made a paper pieced card today and used the sentiment of one of the 5 that I kept from packing away.

I made this card to enter at TECHNO STAMPER MONDAY.  My second card for this week on this challenge.  Also entered at Around the World Stamping.

I used the FREE DSP from Sale-a-Bration called SWEET SORBET and I sure do L O V E that paper!!  I fussy cut out some of the printed flowers from the paper as well as stamped some Petite Petals flowers and punched them out.

 Here is the card all finished.  I added some water coloring onto the DSP for shading, coloring and emphasis to some of the flowers.

 You can see the paper pieced flower and leaves in this upper lkeft hand corner.  I then popped it up on dimensionals and used my markers and aqua painter to add shading, filling and layering of colors,  LOVE IT

 The twine is the FREE SAB SWEET SORBET ACCESSORY PACK and I am loving this thicker twine.  I used a trick I saw on the web recently - I used a bit of gesso or elmer's glue in between my fingers and rubbed it on the tails of the twine.  Then I shaped it how I wanted it to be and let it almost dry before I attached it to my card.  AWESOME how it makes such a difference with the bow all shaped and pretty.  (this is before I added the other candy dots to my card.

Now you can see my candy dots (I changed out the one on the twine bow) and the completed card with the shading and coloring.  What do you think? I really REALLY liked the process because I was so much more involved with the creation by coloring, shading, layering colors and then paper piecing and adding punches.  You will see some more of these types of cards from me again.

EASTER CARD CLASS LAST NIGHT

HEY BLOGGIES,

I had so much fun last night with my friends creating beautiful cards with the BLESSED EASTER single stamp.  First thing we did was cut the sentiment off the stamp and now we had TWO STAMPS - the image on one side of the block and the sentiment on the other side.  This way we can keep using our stamp even after Easter is over!!  woot woot

We used the WATERCOLOR WONDER NOTE CARDS to make our cards.  It was so much fun to have these note cards all scored and ready to go!!

 Karent is showing the one card we just used regular card stock and embellished with the doily and a starburst die cut around the 3 tulips.

 Heather is clowning around while showing the vibrant crushed curry and cajun craze card from the notecard set.  We created a mask and stencil (you can see it in the bottom right corner of this photo) so we could add more sponged inks to make it really vibrant.  We also spritzed some seam binding ribbon to be the same two colors and pleated it along the bottom.  Really a FUN and beautiful card!!

 Leslie is also showing the two tone card and you can see the pleated ribbon we created with our spritzers.

 Vina and Heather are showing you their versions of the bright tulips and wisteria wonder ruffled ribbon on their doily cards.  I LOVE these Easter colors, don't you?  Lookie here - Heather matches the ribbon!!

For this pretty note card of different watercolored greens we did some white embossing and then only watercolored a few flowers for a different effect.  It really focuses on the white embossing and the greens which are so pretty. Oh, we also pressure embossed the tulips around the outside of the card for an additional feature.

BAA BAA PINK SHEEP, HAVE YOU ANY WOOL?

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have card class tonight and have made a cute treat holder for them as a gift for attending,  I showed you my wisteria wonder lambs a few weeks ago, tonight I have some pink sheep treat holders.

 My Easter centerpiece consists of a cute bunny tea pot, some adorable ceramic sheep, some bunny salt shakers and now these cute pink sheep treat holders.

 Scallop tag punch and some punches and VOILA you have a treat holder. The tag is supposed to be like a dog tag around the lamb's neck.

Here is tea pot bunny and her new friends.  Oh, the little duckie ring we just bought for one of our granddaughters.  When you press, there is a blinking light that comes on.  FUN!!

I LOVE PUNCH ART!!  Because I do, it was very hard to decide which item to show you.  I decided to go with Easter punch art designs.

LATE NIGHT STAMPERS CHALLENGE - make art with punches.

 This adorable chick card makes me smile.  Large scallop circle die makes the card, scallop circle punch makes the wings and circle punches for the eyes,  I used the fringe scissors for his feathers on top.

 This adorable little lamb treat holder is made with the new Tag Topper Punch and wisteria wonder card stock.

I used the owl punch for the eyes and they came out big, which I like. He reminds me of the Serta Sleeper Lambs from the television commercials.

BAA BAA BLACK SHEEP treat holder is made here with the retired two tags punch.  His face is the oval punch and his ears the word window punch

EASTER LAMBS

These cute little lamb cards were so simple to make and pack so much fun in them.

 I used the scallop circle die and my BIG SHOT to cut out the card.  I left a bit at the top to remain uncut so it could fold from the top.

I then textured embossed the card and the circle punched out for the hair.  I used a sponge and a small amount of crumb cake ink to make the texture stand out like the fleece of a lamb.

The ears are made with the scallop oval punch and black card stock.  The face with the large oval punch.

The google eyes make the lambs look in all sorts of different directions.  I added a very petite bow in either pink or lavender on their head to give them some personality.
