WATERCOLOR CLASS

HEY BLOGGIES,

I took an online watercolor class this week and I learned SO MUCH.  It was a worthwhile class that I would recommend.  We learned about so many different watercolor mediums - powders, pencils, reinkers, cakes, markers and so much more.

Here is a card I made from the background video in the class:

The white area on the bottom left is NOT a flash reflection.  It is the watercolor paper that I left plain.  I used blues and a green ink with lots of water to create this beautiful background.

This embellishment is a stamped feather with mixed blues on the stamp.

I used dies and black card stock for the BE HAPPY and the circles.  Hope you enjoyed this watercolor card.

I have entered this card at SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY.

SHAKER CARDS -- LAST OF SUMMER

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I have two different shaker cards with a summer beach theme.  Hope you enjoy them:

I loved making these fun cards with the beach theme.  I used some resin flatback charms, some dew drops, and some smaller star charms inside the shaker.  I also used glitter, sequins and beads for the shaker innards.  The stamp and stitched rectangle die is from SSS.

This one is with coastal cabana behind the shaker windows.  I used a beach ball puffy sticker and some resin charms as embellishments.  I used more glitter in these shaker windows than the previous one because after all - we are "digging in the sand" with the shovels and bucket, right?

Another photo of the same card.

Thanks for stopping by.  I am so glad I learned how to make shaker cards and am having so much fun creating them.

Next I am going to create some fall shakers, so stop by again, won't you?

ANOTHER POST IT NOTE CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have another post it note holder to share with you.

I used the new background stamp called BRUSHSTROKES.  This is my first time using it and I L.O.V.E.  IT!!  I used my markers and colored at an angle down the stripes.  I have five different colors on it, but I blended from one into the next so it might be hard to tell how many I used. But I love how it turned out, don't you?

I am loving these little leaves and dies from Lawn Fawn.  And that little swirl is also part of the mini stamp set.  Some of their stamp sets are only $4.99 - this is one of those fun sets.  Also included is a sentiment about following your dreams.  The little slit on the left side of this note holder is for a mini pen which I added before I gave it to my friend.

Thanks for stopping by to visit.  Please come back again.

FALL CARD - GIVE THANKS FOR THE COOLER WEATHER!!

HEY BLOGGIES,

We have had a bit of "cooler" weather.  That translates to LESS THAN 100 degrees in the day and gets WAY DOWN to the low 80 degrees at night.  But for us here in central Texas, that IS COOLER.  hee hee

Today I have a fall card, the first one of the season for me.  I LOVE fall colors--oranges, yellows and golds, browns.  I added just a touch of some Halloween Candy Corn paper in the background because I wanted to give it a bit of whimsy.

Pumpkin pie and black card stock were used with a kraft tag.  I sponged soft suede, pumpkin pie, always artichoke and hello honey ink onto the tag before I attached some die cut leaves and the pumpkin, which were stamped first onto DSP.

This closeup of the tag shows my sponging and rock-n-roll inked images stamped.  I drew the pumpkin vines with the fine tip of my Stampin' Write Marker.  The Give Thanks sentiment is from Good Greetings.

Some bakers twine was added to the top of the tag and a black layer behind the card front was added.  I cut the corners of the card to match the top corners of my tag embellishment.

Here is the sketch from SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY I used to make my card:

Thanks for stopping by.  Hop over to see what my other design team members have created with this sketch, won't you?

NEW IN COLOR LACE TRIM ON MY BIRTHDAY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I have a birthday card in the new In-Color Watermelon Wonder.  I used the hostess stamp set called BEST THOUGHTS from the Annual Catalog.

I stamped the image with Memento black ink and then used my aquabrush and inks in Watermelon Wonder, Calypso Coral and Melon Mambo for the watercolored flower.  The leaves are old olive and pear pizzazz.

I saw a flower similar to this on Pinterest and knew I had to watercolor my flower on this card.  I love how it turned out.

It is hard to see, but I colored lightly my rhinestones with a light green alcohol marker.  The lace trim and the back layer is watermelon wonder.

I have entered this card at SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY.

HALLOWEEN GOODIE BOX

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have another oldie but goodie box to reshare with you.

This little box is about the size of a miniature chocolates box like Russell Stover or Whitmans.  I used a strip of DSP as the windy ribbon on top with some punched out bats from the retired bat punch.  Also the fun black ribbon with stripes from the M store.

This gives you a better idea of the size of the box.  Those are autumn colored Hershey's Kisses in a cello bag.  The belly band has been removed and you can see better how I did the long paper strips and curled them.

The last photo is of the box empty, awaiting more candy to fill it.

Thanks for letting me share some of my previous fun Halloween goodies with you.  The box can be found at Splitcoast Stampers and many other places on the internet.  Google small paper box with hinged lid.
