SPRING, GLORIOUS SPRING HERE IN EAST TEXAS

HEY BLOGGIES,

We have had a fantastic week of spring weather and our trees burst forth with their leaves.  Lots of flowering bushes and trees and treating us to their beauty also.

Our LNS challenge for this week is to create a card that says SPRING.  I choose the FREE stamp set PETAL PARADE from saleabration.

I chose strawberry slush and bermuda bay for my color combo.  The paper is Geometric DSP.  This is also for the Monday TECHNO STAMPER LUNCHTIME CHALLENGE

Oh, I also used a bermuda bay candy dot on top of my popped up flower.  And created the ribbon/banner with the stamp set, bermuda bay ink and coastal cabana card stock.

I created a matching envie by sticking the envie closed and cutting off the left side.  Then I added bermuda bay card stock for the flap, and stamped some more to match the card.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you come back again soon.

OH HAPPY DAY STARBURST SAYINGS

HEY BLOGGIES,

Thank you for visiting me today.  I have a bright and fun card for you today to go along with the LATE NIGHT STAMPERS challenge and the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY challenge.

I used STARBURST SAYINGS AND THE STARBURST THINLITS DIES for the OH HAPPY DAY element of the card.  Beautiful Calypso Coral is the paper and the ink here.

I used SWEET SORBET DSP from the SALE-A-BRATION Catalog and in it is the Calypso Coral and Pool Party colors that I used in my card.  I used my Pool Party Marker and dotted all the dots in HAPPY with it.  Then I went over the arrows and half circles within the stamped image also with Pool Party to emphasize it.

A little Pool Party Ink sponged on the doily and a piece of 1/4" Pool Party ribbon and I am finished.  Quick but cute card with lots of elements to hold your eye.

Hope you enjoyed my card.  Please stop back by again.  And if you want your own SWEET SORBET DSP FREE, all you have to do is order $50 from my store and you get it FREE.

CARD MADE WITH BEST OF SNOW STAMP SET

HELLO BLOGGIES,

Sorry I have not been on as often this past week, I am busy running around getting last minute gifts and completing my hand made gifts as well.

BUT, I still took a few minutes this morning to make this cute card to share with you.

Crumb cake is the base of the card with cherry cobbler layer behind the stamped snowman image.

I used one of the tags from the Stamp-a-Tag kit #132806 (LOVE THIS KIT) and stamped the sentiment, then attached cherry cobbler bakers twine from the  kit.

Some two way glue pen and some dazzling diamonds to hint at the snow and then just color here and there with your markers and it is finished!!

Hope you enjoyed my card today.  Won't you leave me some bloggie love below?

CUTE GIFT IDEA

Last night at card club. We made items from the kits available from SU.  The muslin bags, the bag it kit, the box it kit and a few other items that I have shown previously on this blog.

I also made some fun Magic Reindeer Food that I saw on Angie's blog.  Thanks Angie for your cute idea!!

The box is very small and so very easy to create.  The reindeer snack is oat groats and some cake sprinkles.  Angie used oatmeal but I didn't have any so I used my oats that I grind into oatmeal.

This is the little poem that goes with it and is adhered on the back of the box.

Here is a closeup of the little decoration of the reindeer on the front.

Thanks for stopping by to visit.  Come back again to see some more fun ideas and projects, won't you?

BLACK AND WHITE SPECIAL FOLD CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

We got rain here in TEXAS!!  YIPPEE  It was wonderful and we are praying for some more this weekend.  The drought is at the end, we are all hoping.

My manager, Dawn G. shared how to make this special fold card and I wanted to share with all of you.  I used the Modern Medley DSP, which is all black and white patterns.  I love how elegant it is and how it can go with any other pop of color.

It looks difficult but it is actually achieved with a few score lines to fold and only 2 small triangle cuts.

I used the Chalk Talk Stamp Set and matching FRAMELITS for the "FOR YOU" closure of this card.  It is only adhered on the left side so it can easily open, as you will see in the next photo.

Here is the card with only the left side open.  You can see I put a piece of solid card stock inside for your note, message, etc.

Both sides open here.  The black card stock is the square base that the card sits upon.

A final photo of the completed card.  I stamped with versamark and then embossed with white embossing powder.  Love that look!!

THEN I DECIDED IT NEEDS A LITTLE MORE BLING!!  Here is the card BLINGED UP with a ribbon and some pearls of different sizes:

Two big pearls on the label and 5 mini pearls in a row on all four sides of the stripe.

The pearls in a row show up better when this photo is blurry.
I am pointing to one row of the 5 mini pearls and next photo down I am pointing to another row.

Thanks for stopping by this weekend. See you again with another fun card.

TEACHER THANK YOU CARD

OUR PRIMARY COLORS ARE 1-2-3...RED, YELLOW AND BLUE.  That is what first came to my mind when I was thinking about this card.  So, I thought also about rainbows full of color too.  Here is what I came up with:

This would be a perfect Teacher card to thank them for all they do!!  I used the pad to paper technique for the background - just rubbed the ink pads across the daffodil card stock.

Then I punched out a daffodil cardstock flower and stamped with pumpkin pie in the center with the flower from Fabulous Florets.  I used the leaf from that same stamp set to put the leaves right on the rainbow.  This is layered on top of a marina mist and then onto the real red card base.

The "THANKS SO MUCH" sentiment is from OH HELLO stamp set.  I added one little pearl in the "O" of the word SO just to catch your eye.

I am entering this card at Late Night Stampers.  Go see the other fab ideas from this challenge, won't you?

Thanks for stopping by!!  I am entering this card also at  SUO Challenges

LNS CHALLENGE BLOG - SUMMERTIME

HI BLOGGIES,

I had a hard time with this subject because I think I was wanting something that was literal- SUMMERTIME.  I just don't seem to have any stamp sets with a summertime activity on them.  BUT then I started thinking "outside the box" and decided on coastal cabana card stock.  I mean, what says summertime more than the beautiful color of the Caribbean Sea on a warm summer day??

So my card for this challenge is made with summertime coastal cabana  as well as baked brown sugar because it is the color of the rocks along the shoreline of some of the islands in the Caribbean AND because many people like to BAKE in the sun to get a tan the color of BROWN SUGAR.

I know, I know I am really stretching it, but I think it fits the challenge.

This CHALK TALK BUNDLE of stamps and framelits are so much fun!! I stamped with the baked brown sugar ink on the coastal cabana card stock and then die cut the tab out.  I stamped again on very vanilla with soft suede and had cut out the banner to add to the bag.

I made a flower with the Stampin Up paper clay and the flowers and buttons mold and after it had dried over night I used my markers to add some color.  I also added some Tombow glue and some dazzling diamonds to give it a bit of sparkle.  I first tied a 1/8 ribbon ribbon thru the tag before adhering the flower to the tag.

On the left side of the card, I put some of this yummy baked brown sugar stretch ruffled ribbon under the baked brown sugar layer.  Then a layer of coastal cabana and then a very thin sgp of the baked brown sugar running along the edge.

Here is one more look now that you have heard how I created it.  Doesn't that thin strip really make it so pretty?  I forgot to tell you that the base of the card is soft suede and that I also used the square lattice embossing folder on the coastal cabana layer.

Thanks for stopping by to view my creations.  I would LOVE to hear your comments please.

Come back again soon.  I am going to be in blog hop September 3-5 for Fall and Halloween ideas.

PATTERNED PAPERS AND CHALK TALK

I absolutely LOVE the CHALK TALK STAMP SET and matching FRAMELITS.  I can't stop using it for all my cards!!  I know you will love it too.

I also love the color combo of vanilla and black or black and white.  I used white on this card with my black cardstock.  Then I made 3 banners from patterned papers from Stampin' Up! - two of them from the Witches Brew DSP and one is a newsprint pattern.

This is the first time I have used the Pewter Embossing Powder and it is really pretty.

The only thing else I added was a 1/8" black stitched ribbon tied in a simple knot.

Hope you enjoyed my card.  This would be perfect for a man, or for any occasion.

Thanks for stopping by.  Come back again to visit, won't you?

GUEST DESIGNER AT LATE NIGHT STAMPERS CHALLENGES

Hello Bloggies,

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT:  The hostess code from the last week has now been closed and through Random.org the winner of $50.00 worth of FREE PRODUCT is:

KAREN P.

Thanks to all who ordered from me, especially during the Texas Tax Free Weekend.  I will have another HOSTESS CODE for the rest of August and will share that code with you tomorrow.

Now, on to my NEXT ANNOUNCEMENT:

I am humbled to announce that I have been chosen as one of the GUEST DESIGNERS over at the Late Night Stampers Challenges (LNS).

There are so many amazing stampers out there that I am amazed I was chosen.  I hope I can live up to what they expect from me for these next 3 months.

This week, LNS Challenge is to use SPECIALITY PAPER.  I already submitted one card yesterday when the challenge started, but I immediately had another idea I wanted to share with you.

I did something similar to this card last fall, but I wanted to update to the most current designer paper available from Stampin' Up!  The paper I used for the pumpkin is WITCHES BREW.  The background paper is a newsprint design, but I cannot remember which paper pack it is from.

I made a banner with the newsprint paper and with a piece of ALWAYS ARTICHOKE card stock on top.  I stamped several times with versamark and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I tied a 1/8" piece of PUMPKIN PIE RIBBON at the end of the banner.

This paper pieced pumpkin idea came from my quilting that I also love to do.  This type of creating is fun with both paper AND fabric.  Applique is the name of it in quilting.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I sincerely appreciate your support.

Hop on over to LNS to see other cards submitted for this 2 week challenge.  Why don't you submit a card of your own for this challenge?
