MOJO MONDAY CHALLENGE - 3-D STICKY NOTE HOLDER

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today is a total washout - We have had constant rain since SATURDAY AFTERNOON!!  And here it is MONDAY AFTERNOON and still raining - HEAVILY!!  YIKES...our backyard is a pond and now the front yard is filling up too.  Luckily our house sets up on a bit of an incline so I don't expect any water to enter the home.  But it has entered our horse shed, which I am very sad about.  We thought we had built it up high enough to keep that from happening.  Luckily, the horses are at Training School this month and are in a warm dry stall there.

So, I have been organizing my crafts, cleaning, and CREATING.  Here is one of the items I created that goes along with the MOJO MONDAY CHALLENGE #388:

Here is the sketch above.  And below is my item I crafted:

It is a sticky note holder and a mini gel pen.  I am over the teachers who teach the kids at our church who are under 12.  One young male teacher is having a birthday next week and this is the small token of thanks we are giving to him for his birthday.

Here you can see it opened and the post it notes with our message on it.

One more look at this cute little gift.  I used basic gray and a piece of DSP from Moonlight DSP.  I used FOUR FEATHERS stamp set and FEATHERS die, as well as a 3/4 circle punch from the postage stamp from the Basic Butterflies stamp set.  Black and pewter embossing powder was used.

Thanks for stopping by to see my creation.  Won't you please leave a comment?  I really enjoy hearing from those who visit and would love to hear from you!!

ALL ABOARD - TRAIN CARD FOR SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY CHALLENGE

HEY BLOGGIES,

Still in the "ready to move" mode.  Our closing date has been pushed ahead one more week.  So here we are with everything packed and just waiting until the closing so we can move and get settled in.  My kitchen is empty so we are living with paper plates, plastic utensils and paper cups.  What can't be microwaved can't be cooked at home right now.  We thought it was only going to be a few days but best laid plans, etc.  So we still have another week to be like this.

On to my card.  I got my NEW BOX OF GOODIES from the NEW CATALOG and the TRAVELER stamp set caught my eye. For SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY this week,

Here is my take on this fun sketch:

I like the vintage feel of this train stamp in the TRAVELER set, so I knew that is what I wanted for my card. Tammy had a train track stamp from a different company's photopolymer set and I used that as my image on the left side.  Then my brain started spinning about what else goes with a train.
My friend Tammy was helping me because all my stuff is packed except this new box of goodies, so she came up with the other items that coordinated with our TRAVELER stamp set.  I used the NEW in-color called HELLO HONEY, which is an interesting color yellow.  It works GREAT for antiquing edges.

We colored 3 large rhinestones with permanent markers to look like the crossing lights at a train track.  Then we used the Ticket Punch for the ticket and stamped with another photopolymer stamp from the "M" store.

The sentiment "THERE'S ONLY ONE YOU" from a retired Sale-a-Bration set called Vintage Verses from a few years ago seemed to fit perfectly with the one ticket AND is perfect for a masculine birthday OR for FATHER'S DAY.  Awesome, huh?  It was also such a great vintage design and with some antiquing with the Hello Honey around the edges and layered with red it fits perfectly!!

Some CRUMB CAKE ink sponged around the card to make it appear vintage and a fussy cut part of the ticket stamped in a different color popped up on dimensionals completes the card.  Oh, and corner rounding it on the right side.

Hope you enjoyed this card.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hop on over to SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY CHALLENGE BLOG and see what the other members of our design team have made with this sketch.  Then create YOUR card and upload it.  I would LOVE to see what you create.

p.s.  You are going to LOVE this HELLO HONEY new In-Color for the upcoming catalog.

TWO MASCULINE VALENTINES HSSCT53 CHALLENGE

With Valentine's usually being all fru-fru and lacey, etc, I thought it would be fun to do a masculine manly card.  I used the a-la-carte single stamp BE MY VALENTINE for this card.  I stamped it in black ink on whisper white card stock, layered it onto News Print DSP, then onto real red card stock.  I put all these layers on a black card stock base and added a sheet of whisper white inside for the sentiment and note.  I used the very thin 1/8" black ribbon with the white edging to tie a simple knot.  LOVE IT.  And for just a little bling, I used my versamark pen and dabbled a bit on the heart then added black sparkle embossing powder and heat embossed it.  What do you think?  All the ladies at my workshop yesterday loved it.

Another masculine card is this one I made this past week for HSSCT53 Challenge:

Sorry the photo is fuzzy.  I used my phone instead of my camera to shoot it.  This is the FILLED WITH LOVE stamp set using old olive and real red ink, layered on black card stock.  I put the LOVE all "kittywampus" on the layer of Newsprint DSP which is also layered on black then the base white card stock.  I made a very simple knot with the BLACK SATIN RIBBON.

Hope these gave you some inspiration to make your own masculine valentine's cards.  Won't you share them with me?

Keep stamping and smiling!!
