GLITTER QUEEN BLOG HOP---DAY ONE

HELLO STAMPERS AND PAPER CRAFTERS!!  WELCOME TO DAY ONE OF OUR MAY GLITTER QUEEN BLOG HOP.

I AM SO HAPPY YOU HAVE HOPPED OVER TO MY BLOG TO SEE WHAT I HAVE CREATED FOR YOU.  TODAY I THOUGHT I WOULD START WITH AN ADORABLE LITTLE PHOTO ALBUM.  I AM A GRANDMOTHER AND I JUST CAN'T HAVE ENOUGH PHOTOS OF MY 5 GRANDS (SOON TO BE 6!!)

THIS FOLDED ALBUM IS MADE FROM ONE PIECE OF DESIGNER PAPER FOR THE ALBUM ITSELF,  AND THEN SOME CARD STOCK FOLDED INSIDE FOR THE PHOTO PAGES.  HERE WE GO:

 ISN'T THIS ADORABLE?  IT IS FOR MY GRAND BABY PENELOPE.  THE RIBBON AT THE TOP IS JUST A BELLY BAND MADE FROM A STRIP OF DSP AND THE POOL PARTY RUFFLED  RIBBON GLUED TOGETHER.  IT SLIPS OVER THE ALBUM.  IT CAN ACTUALLY STAY CLOSED WITH THE FLOWER POCKET ON THE TOP, BUT TO CARRY IT IN MY PURSE I WANTED TO MAKE SURE IT STAYED CLOSED.

HERE IS A CLOSER VIEW SO YOU CAN SEE THE CUTE SQUARE IN THE FRONT THAT FORMS FROM THE FOLDING OF THE DSP.  I MADE A FLOWER OF 5 PUNCHES WITH THE BLOSSOM PUNCH AND A FIRE RHINESTONE BRAD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FLOWER.  I SCRUNCHED UP THE PUNCHES AND THEN CONNECTED THEM WITH THE BRAD.  ISN'T IT CUTE?  I LOVE THIS PAPER - SPICE CAKE.  LET'S OPEN IT UP:

 WITH THE BELLY BAND OFF AND THE TOP OPENED FROM THE SQUARE POCKET, YOU SEE MY FIRST SURPRISE - I USED A CHIPBOARD LETTER "P" ON TOP OF A FLOWER PUNCH OUT OF CRUMB CAKE CARD STOCK.  I USED HEAT AND STICK POWDER AND BAJA BLUE GLASS GLITTER TO BLING UP THE LETTER.  YOU GET A PEEK OF THE POOL PARTY BLUE CARD STOCK INSIDE...

ISN'T THE GLITTER SO PRETTY ON MY CHIPBOARD LETTER?  THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE USED HEAT AND STICK POWDER AND IT WAS SO EASY I WILL BE USING IT A LOT FOR MY GLITTER. . . KEEPS IT FROM SHAKING OFF LIKE IT DOES WITH JUST REGULAR GLUE.

 I OPENED THE RIGHT SIDE AND YOU CAN SEE THERE IS ANOTHER SQUARE ON THE LEFT.  I USED THE 5 PETAL PUNCH AND MAKE A STAMPED FLOWER FOR THIS LITTLE POOL PARTY SQUARE.  OOPS, HERE IS ANOTHER SNEAK PEEK - A TAB PUNCH OF THIS SPICE CAKE DSP AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CARD STOCK...

WITH  BOTH SIDES OPENED AND THE CARD STOCK UNFOLDED TO REVEAL 5 PAGES FOR PHOTOS ON THE FRONT, AND 4 PLACES ON THE BACK FOR PHOTOS.  CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY GRAND BABY PHOTOS!! DUE TO PRIVACY ISSUES, I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHED THIS BEFORE I ADDED HER PHOTOS.  I JUST REALIZED YOU CAN EVEN ADD SOME JOURNALING ON BOTH SIDES THAT FLIPPED OPEN.  I WILL HAVE TO ADD SOME VERY VANILLA CARD STOCK THERE AND DO SOME JOURNALING!!  WOW, I DIDN'T EVEN THINK OF THIS UNTIL I LOOKED AT THESE PHOTOS.  COOOOL!!

BY FOLDING AND THEN TRIMMING OUT A FEW PIECES, YOU GET THIS ADORABLE FOLDING ALBUM.  THERE IS A VIDEO HERE TO SHOW YOU HOW TO MAKE IT. I USED CARD STOCK FOR THE 2 X 2 SQUARES INSTEAD OF DSP.  I AM OFFERING A CLASS ON THESE FOLDING ALBUMS IN JUNE, IF YOU ARE LOCAL.

BEAUTIFUL CARD WITH NO STAMPING!! (REALLY??? - YES REALLY)

I KNOW, IT SEEMS AMAZING, BUT I ACTUALLY MADE A CARD THAT IS BE)AUTIFUL AND INCLUDED NO STAMPING.  Now I did NOT say no INK or no Designer Paper, and I did NOT say no punches or ribbon.  ha

Here it is - what do you think?  It is the beee-u-ti-ful NEW DESIGNER PAPER called SPICE CAKE.  The colors in this pretty paper are pool party, soft suede, more mustard, pear pizzazz, and river rock.  I chose a few of those colors to highlight this amazing paper.  First I used pool party as my card base.  Then I layered more mustard under soft suede.  I used my fancy flower punch and punched out the patterned flowers from the paper, used snail to put it on the soft suede layer and then ran it through the big shot with the petals a plenty embossing folder.  This makes it look like a piece of an old quilt from grandma, doesn't it?

Now, I hear some of you murmuring to me saying, "hey, I recognize that patterned flower.  I think you stamped it with the NEW TRIPLE TREAT FLOWER SINGLE STAMP."  To you I say, NO I DID NOT, BUT IT DOES PERFECTLY MATCH THAT SINGLE STAMP.  How cool is that?  You could use the DSP and the stamp together on one card, not to mention the fancy flower punch with it!!

Don't you just LOVE how everything coordinates here at Stamin' Up!  I sure do!!  I LOVE this company.  Ok, back to my card, I digress...

For the middle I flipped the DSP over and it is a more mustard pattern which I punched out with the fancy flower punch BEFORE I did the embossing in the bigshot.  That ended up being the bottom layer of my 3-D flower in the middle.  I added two layers of punched pool party card stock, which I bent the petals a bit to go under, and I rubbed the middle to make it cup a bit.  Oh, and I also used a sponge and pool party ink to edge the flower.  Then I fussy cut (with scissors) the flower pattern and rubbed the center to make it cup also.  Then I used Stampin' Dimensionals in the middle to layer the flower all together to make it 3-D and more mustard card stock cut in slices thinly is the stamen.  You like??

I LOVE the new Pool Party ruffled ribbon.  I added a knotted tie at the bottom of the card and VOILA - a pretty NON STAMPED card made all with SU supplies.

p.s. Did  tell you that today it is 109 degrees here in my part of Texas??!!  They say the hurricane on the east coast is causing it to be hotter than normal.  I believe we set a record for this high of heat.  I am inside stamping and my hubby - he is outside working on the lawn!!  Stubborn man would not wait until this evening when it got down below 100 degrees.  I have been taking him glasses of water every 30 minutes so I won't find him passed out in the grass.  Love him and am grateful for all his hard work.

Thank you gift set

I made this adorable (even if I do say so myself!) Thank you cards gift set complete with the gift box.  It is a wedding shower gift for the bride to have some personal thank you cards to mail out. 

The colors are not showing up very well, so sorry.  But I used Night of Navy with Bashful Blue.  I used the Elizabeth single stamp, and then used the thank you from the Because I Care hostess set in the big catalog.  I used some DSP that I think I got as a hostess gift a while back, along with Bashful Blue 1" ribbon from the Clearance Rack and I tied it with some silver and gold cord (retired).

I used the navy brads from the brads collection as well as the decorative label punch or is it the designer label punch?  The small one!  ha  I can't remember which is which with those names.  This second photo shows the colors just a little bit better.  On the gift box I used the larage flower punch and the single stamp FOR YOU.

CARD GROUP CARDS

WE HAD SUCH A FUN TIME WITH OUR CARD GROUP.  WHAT WE DO IS EACH CREATE A CARD AND CUT OUT ALL THE SUPPLIES, ETC. FOR EVERYONE IN THE GROUP.  THEN WE EACH MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENT CARDS OF THE GROUP THAT NIGHT.  IT IS SO FUN.

FIRST WE HAVE JACKIE'S CARD:

IT CAN BE EITHER A WEDDING OR ANNIVERSARY CARD; IT IS MADE WITH THE BIRD PUNCH.  SHE USED THE POLKA DOT EMBOSSING FOLDER FOR THE BACKGROUND.

HERE IS KILEY'S CARD:

KILEY USED THE EMBOSSING FOLDER FIFTH AVE FLORAL ON VELLUM, THEN WE USED THE WHITE PEN TO ACCENT PARTS OF IT FOR HIGHLIGHTS.  VERY ELEGANT.

THIS CARD USES THE "FOR YOU" SINGLE STAMP YOU CAN GET FREE NOW FROM SALE-A-BRATION.  AND THE PUNCH THAT MATCHES IT.  AS WELL THE THE LITTLE LEAVES SIZZLET DIE AND SOME YUMMY FREE RIBBON AND DSP FROM SALE-A-BRATION.



THIS LAST CARD IS FOR ST PADDY'S DAY.  IT IS MADE WITH THE LARGE HEART PUNCH.  I PUT AN AWESOME FABRIC BRAD IN THE MIDDLE FROM THE OCCASIONS MINI.

I USED THE OLIVE STRIPED RIBBON FROM THE CLEARANCE RACK.  LOVE IT.  AND AN EXPIRED STAMP GOOD LUCK WITH THE 2 DIFFERENT SIZE TAG PUNCHES TO TIE ON THE RIBBON WITH LINEN THREAD.  GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!

I DON'T SEEM TO HAVE THE OTHER CARD WE MADE.  I WILL HAVE TO LOOK FOR THAT PHOTO AND POST LATER.
