FLIP CARD THINLITS WITH BLACK AND WHITE DSPOne more

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I have another card for you that I have entered at SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY.  First, here is the sketch for this week:

I saw the Flip Card Thinlit that I have had for a while but have not even broken open the seal of the package.  You can see that shape by turning this sketch upside down.

Here is what I came up with:

I used pistachio pudding card stock and the Flip Card Thinlit to cut out this fun flip card.  I added two circles, one on each side of the front fold that says Thank you so much.

I fussy cut out a pear from the Black and White DSP and put it on a background of black card stock on the flipping piece on the front.  I added a small strip of DSP from this pack along the right side.

I thought the pear needed something a bit more, so I punched out some leaves from the Bird Builder Punch and also added a silver apple charm in the middle of the pear.  Isn't that charm adorable?

Here is a closeup of the 'THANKS" cute with an e-cutter in black card stock.

One more look at the completed card.  I love how the two circles keep the card locked closed until ready to be opened.

Thanks for stopping by.  Won't you stop by Sketch Frenzy Friday and see what else my other team members have created for you?

SOMETHING FOR BABY

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have a fun card for you today.  I usually seem to make these soji screen cards only on Halloween with a witch or ghost on it.  Why?  I don't know but I think it is because the first one I saw was a Halloween one.  But yesterday I was blurfing (surfing blogs) and I saw a cute card by Deb Valder using the Work of Art stamp set and this type of screen card.  I loved it so much I had to make one myself, but using the SOMETHING FOR BABY stamp set.

Isn't this so sweet??  My screen is made from Hello Honey card stock scored into 4 equal parts and then folded back and forth.  I used the new Hearts Border punch along the top and then the Decorative Label punch on the bottom to make the legs for it to stand on.

The Designer Paper is LULLABY, which is part of the BUY 3 GET ONE FREE SALE FOR JULY.  I am LOVING.THIS.PAPER.  I need to get more while it is on sale because it has such amazing prints and the colors are gorgeous.  These watercolor polka dots are so popular and can be used for any type card, not just baby.  The colors are hello honey, coastal cabana, calypso coral and pistachio pudding, all on this one sheet in a "stamped off" intensity.

I used the LITTLE LETTERS thinlit dies to cut out the word BABY, and then used the negative space on this card.  I am going to use the letters on another card in the future.  Waste not, want not my Mom always said.

This SOMETHING FOR BABY stamp set is so stinkin' cute!!  AND the MATCHING FRAMELITS DIES called  BABY'S FIRST make it so fun to stamp and die cut in no time at all.  Here are the pages with the onsie on a hanger, the bib on that and then the carriage.  I stamped two carriages and cut them apart to make the metal parts of a real carriage a different color (here I used Soft Suede).

This is the page to write a small message and sign it.  I stamped and die cut the booties and the large safety pin.  Cuteness, huh?

Here is one more look at the complete card.  These colors are for someone who is expecting a baby GIRL.  The back of this card is also polka dots in water colored intensity in coastal cabana, pistachio pudding and baked brown sugar - perfect for a baby BOY!!

I have entered this card at Late Night Stampers Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by to see my card today.  All the supplies I used are available for you to purchase at my store.  Just clock my signature line below and it will take you to my Stampin' Up! Store.

STAR FRAMELITS WINDOW CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I have a card that I made using my SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY sketch. I created the sketch before I realized that 3 of the framelits cannot make it all the way down the card diagonally. So of course I had to change it up a bit.

Here is my sketch for this week:

And here is my card.

I used cherry cobbler and daffodil delight cvard stock.  Then I used cajun craze, pumpkin pie and cherry cobbler inks to both sponge and stamp the layer behind the stars, as well as the front of the card.

I used a bitty star punch for the two little stars of daffodil delight,  The red button is from the brights collection of buttons.
I created the banner myself by scoring two places on each end of the strip of paper and then cutting a flag on both ends.

Hope you enjoyed my card and my sketch this week.  Won't you create a card and share it with us on SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY CHALLENGE?

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL!!

HEY BLOGGIES,

I hope you are planning some fun family time on this long holiday weekend.  Using the Sketch Frenzy Friday Sketch below, I made a card with a 4th of July feel.  Here is this weeks sketch:

And here is my card:

I used a red, white and blue color theme to go along with the stars I featured on my card.  The wonderful new Star Framelits enabled me to cut out the largest star from my red cardstock, and also to cut that into a smaller star to add back in.

I created my background "designer paper" by using the middle of a flower stamp and repeatedly stamping it in red and blue all over the background to look like fireworks exploding.

Here you can see more of the background paper I created as it peeks out from the die cut star in the middle of my card.  I added some sequins and some printed vellum for accents and as one of the layers on my middle star.  I also used the small star punch from the punch pack to create the smallest star.

I hope you enjoyed my patriotic thank you card.  I used the French "thank you" for my sentiment just for a bit of whimsy.  I have made several of these cards to give to my customers this month as my thank you for selecting me as their demonstrator.

Place an order with me and I will be happy to send a thank you card to you, too.

Thank you for stopping by.  Won't you stop at our Sketch Frenzy Friday blog and see what the other design team members have created for you?  And we would LOVE to see YOUR creation also.

Happy 4th!!

LAND THAT I LOVE .... INDEPENDENCE DAY CARDS

HEY BLOGGIES,

Are you getting ready for some baseball, picnics, fireworks and fun with friends and family??  So am I!!

I wanted to share a card I made with my friend and downline, Tammy M.  We used WORK OF ART stamp set and a few special surprises as well:

We used real red and Night of Navy card stock, also whisper white.  We did something a little bit lagnappe or "unexpected" - we used a star stencil and some moon pearl embossing powder BEFORE we stamped with the navy ink for the star part of the flag.  Isn't it awesome??!!  I LOVE how it turned out.

If you decide to make one of these cards, make sure you make both a stencil and a mask for the blue part because first you use the stencil part so you just emboss that area, then you stamp it with the navy inked stamp.  then you use the mask part to cover up the navy part so the red won't get there when you stamp the stripes.  I hope I have said that clearly so you can make one of these FUN cards too!!

See anything else that fits LAGNAPPE or "unexpected"?  YES, that is a silver eagle head charm on the sentiment.  AND YES those are mini star sequins on the left of the sentiment.  Just too little special somethings to make you do a double take.  Speaking of a double take, see the boo-boo I did right below the blue stars field?  I tapped my stripe stamp a second time into the wrong ink pad.  I thought I thumped it into the real red but NOOOO, it was the navy pad by mistake.

Well, things happen and life goes on.  But this wonderful country is LAND OF THE FREE AND HOME OF THE BRAVE.  Thanks to all those who serve us by helping to keep our beautiful America FOREVER FREE.

Stamp set:  Work of Art, alphabet set
Ink:  Real Red, Night of Navy
Card stock:  Real Red, Night of Navy
Other:  mini star sequins, silver eagle charm

I would love to hear your comments on our fun and patriotic card.  Won't you take just a moment and leave a comment for me?

Have a wonderful holiday weekend.
