Plum and Wisteria VALENTINE CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Can you guess what I have for you today??  YEP - another VALENTINE CARD.  This one can actually be any occasion because I made PENGUINS with the OWL PUNCH.  A fellow demo, Darlene, from Darlene's Designs made a similar card at Christmas for a winter card, but I changed up the colors and added hearts on the Penguins to make a Valentine Card.

I used the flip card thinlit I have, which is NOT the circle flip card like Darlene used.  But I think it still looks cute!!

Here is a closeup of the two adorable Penguins made with the OWL PUNCH.  They are absolutely adorable, yes??

I extended the length of the right side of the flip card so that it folds into the middle and there is plenty of space to write a message.  This card is going to my youngest granddaughters for Valentine's Day so they know their Nannie and Grampa miss them and love them.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please come back again, won't you?

SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY DESIGN TEAM MEMBER

HEY BLOGGIES,

I am so excited to announce that I have joined the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY design team.  These stampers are so very talented!!  I know I will learn so much from them in the way of design and color.

Here is this week's sketch:

Here is my first card for the sketch today:

WHOOOO is thankful for you??!!  I enjoyed making this card with my lonely OWL PUNCH that I haven't used for almost a year!!  I used two different sized heart framelits to create the windown for Mr. Owl to peek through.  The DSP in the window opening is Sweet Sorbet and is in the Everyday Occasions catalog.

Island Indigo and any of the yellows look so good together, don't you think?  Whether it be Daffodil Delight, So Saffron or Summer Starfruit, it is a good combo.  Since the paper also had Calypso Coral in it, I made sure one of the small heart punches included that color to bring in the pop of accent color.

The thank you at the bottom could just as easily been I LOVE YOU or HAPPY VALENTINES DAY.  YOU get to pick the sentiment for your card.

Hope you enjoyed my take on the SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY CHALLENGE.  Hop on over and see what else the design team came up with.

Thanks for stopping by!!  Come back again to see my creations from my Valentines card classes this week.

FULL MOON, BATS FLYING AT MIDNIGHT...

HI BLOGGIES,

My mom's birthday was on Halloween and when we would leave to go trick-or-treating, she would stay home to hand out candy at our house and always tell us "Behave because I will be flying around on my broom and will know if you do anything naughty."

Hey, for years I believed her!!  That was the only day of the year we could call her a WITCH and get away with it.  ha ha

Fun memories about Halloween.  Here is a card I made with some more fun memories of Halloween.  A full moon with scarey shadows all around as we walked down the dark road to get to the next house.

I call this kind of card a fancy fold step card.  Not sure if there is another name for it.  It has 3 pieces of the front that make the middle step out in front and the two sides bend to the background.  I used Witches Brew DSP and elegant eggplant card stock and ink.

I stamped on the back side of the DSP and adhered it with stampin' dimensionals. I used the bird builder punch for the branch the bat is sitting on.

The bat is made with the owl punch.  His wings are the vest piece of the punch.  The moon is also a punch.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I hope you are enjoying this week-long tribute to Halloween.  I have enjoyed sharing my creativity with you.

If you do not have a demonstrator, I would appreciate it a compliment if you chose me when you purchase your supplies.

I am entering this card at:

DAY 5 - LAST DAY OF BLOG HOP

I AM SORRY I WAS LATE POSTING MY CARD YESTERDAY.  I MADE A MISTAKE AND SCHEDULED IT TO POST AT 4 PM INSTEAD OF 4 AM.  IF YOU DID NOT SEE YESTERDAYS POST, PLEASE GO DOWN AFTER THIS POST TO SEE IT AND DON'T FORGET TO LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS FOR THE BLOG CANDY.  I AM SORRY...

WELL, ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END...I AM SAD FOR THIS FUN BLOG HOP TO COME TO AN END.  I HOPE YOU ENJOYED IT AS MUCH AS WE DID.  SO MANY FUN IDEAS!!

TODAY I THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE WITH YOU WHAT I RECEIVED DURING MY CHRISTMAS CARD SWAP WITH MY DOWNLINE, JODY V. AND FRIENDS.  THESE CARDS RANGE FROM AMAZING TO "CUTE AND SIMPLE" AND I LOVE THEM ALL!!

I LIKE THE SIMPLE BEAUTY OF THIS ONE.  JUST A FEW PIECES OF DESIGNER PAPER AND A PUNCHED SNOWFLAKE AND VOILA - A BEAUTIFUL CARD.  THE SENTIMENT SAYS IT ALL!!

THE BUTTON AND THE EDGE PUNCHED PAPER REALLY CARRY THIS CARD A LONG WAY.  AND THE EMBOSSING FOLDER ON THE VANILLA MAKE IT WONDERFUL ALSO.  LOVE IT.

THIS SIMPLY ELEGANT CARD IS BY JOEBY.  IT DOESN'T NEED ANOTHER THING BECAUSE IT SPEAKS VOLUMES IN IT'S ELEGANCE, DOESN'T IT?  GREAT JOB!! I CAN HEAR LINUS FROM THE PEANUTS GANG SPEAKING THE WORDS: "AND LO, THERE WERE SHEPHERDS WATCHING THEIR FLOCKS BY NIGHT..." FROM IT'S A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS.

JOEBY ALSO DID THIS ORNAMENT CARD.  THE FRAMELIT IS PERFECT WITH THE ORNAMENT HANGING IN THE MIDDLE OF IT.  THE EXTRA LAYER AND THE PEARL ADD SOME REAL PRETTINESS. LOVE THE COLORS TOO.

OH, THIS ONE DOESN'T SHOW UP AS CUTE AS IT IS.  ONE OF MY FAVORITES.  THE SNOW GLOBE HAS A WINDOW SHEET ON THE FRONT SO IT REALLY LOOKS LIKE A SNOW GLOBE.  THIS WAS DONE BY JODY'S MOM AND SHE DID A REMARKABLE JOB.  SAD THE PHOTO DOESN'T DO IT JUSTICE. SNOW GLOBES AND SNOWFLAKES...PERFECT!

SO ELEGANT, ISN'T IT?  FIRST I LOVE THE BIGZ CLEAR OVAL ACCENT DIE CUT IN WHISPER WHITE.  THEN I AM CRAZY ABOUT HOW THE ORNAMENT LOOKS WITH THE STRIPED DESIGNER PAPER AND THE GREEN RIBBON.  HARD TO SEE, BUT THERE ARE SOME RHINESTONES ON THE ORNAMENT AND DOTTING THE "I" ON CHRISTMAS...  ADORABLE.

FUN FUN FUN IS WHAT I WOULD USE TO DESCRIBE THIS CARD.  THE SNOWFLAKE PAPER IS FUN, THE MERRY CHRISTMAS BANNER IS ALSO FUN AND THEN THE CUTE TREES FROM THE NEW SET IN THE MINI CATALOG CALLED SCENTSATIONAL SEASON. THE CANDY CANE STRIPED PAPER GIVES IT THE WHIMSICAL FEEL.

OK, I SAVED MY VERY FAVORITE FOR LAST.  JODY AND JILL MADE THIS ONE TOGETHER AND IT IS A HOOT!! (GET THE PUN?) SANTA OWL IS THE MOST ADORABLE THING I HAVE EVER SEEN!!  LOOK AT THIS FAT BELLY WITH HIS BLACK BELT AND THE CUTE BELT BUCKLE.  WHAT ATTENTION TO DETAIL THESE GALS DID.  THEY EVEN PUT SOME BLING ON THE BUCKLE (EVERYONE IN TEXAS WEARS BLING ON THEIR BUCKLES, IN CASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW!!)  HIS EYES SAY IT ALL AND MAKE ME LAUGH.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS ONE GALS!!  GREAT JOB ON ALL THE CARDS!!

LAST MINUTE LITTLE CANDY HOLDERS

HEY Y'ALL,  Today I want to show you the CUTEST EVER candy holders I made.  I saw this idea from Angie Juda - Hey Angie!!  It is with a piece of card stock 6" x 3" and looks like a little purse.  But the cutest part of it is the goofy reindeer on the front.  Here it is:

Isn't the little reindeer so goofy it is CUTE??  He is the owl punch with the feet cut off.  Then the antlers are two parts of a punched snowflake.  LOVE IT!!

I embossed the riding hood red card stock with the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder.  The scored to fold up to look like a purse.  It is glued shut and the nuggest or little candy bar goes inside.  I put a pack of lifesavers and it just poked out a bit on each end and still looks cute.  Just make sure you put glue on the bottom of the candy papers so they don't fall out.  On these in the photos, I used the 1/8" taffeta red ribbon for the purse handle.  You can also use the gold cord for the handle of the purse or anything else you choose.  You draw on his funny mouth with a marker any way you want.

Sorry for the bad photos.  I used my cell phone because my camera's batteries are dead.  Enjoy making these quick and fun candy holders for little "thinking of you" gifts for friends and neighbors.

Merry Christmas to everyone.

THIS STAMP SET IS THE MOST ADORABLE ONE I HAVE SEEN...

Oh my stars, this cute new hostess set in the Holiday Mini, entitled Warmest of Wishes (#122672) is so adorable.  Specifically the cute little owl with his/her trick-or-treat costume and bag.  It just tickles me every time I stamp it.  So here is a treat bag I am making for my "Ghoul's Night Out" event next week.  I have 12 attending so far and it is going to be a riot.  I have fun games, prizes and adorable cards and items to create.  Also yummy treats too.  Here is the treat bag for each attendee:
I got grape purple colored lunch bags at the store at a price of 4 for $1.00.  Perfect color to match our Concord Crush color in SU!  I stamped my little new friend, the Halloween Owl  with his little mask on and holding his bag in concord grape ink on white card stock and punched him out with the owl punch.  (Oops, forgot to tell you I wiped off his feet and used my pumpkin pie marker to color them BEFORE I stamped it.  Sorry)  Then I used the marker to color around the trick or treat bag and just stamped that on white cs and then cut it out with snips and put it on a dimensional so he is carrying an orange bag.  Colored in his beak after stamping with the pumpkin pie marker as well.
This close up you can see his treat bag and feet are pumpkin pie.  The large scallop circle is pumpkin pie and I sponged ink on the edge in Concord Crush as well.  Then I attached the owl to the scallop with a dimensional and used snail to attach the whole decoration to the lunch sack.  Isn't it adorable??!!  I am going to have jars of candies at the party and they can pick and choose what they want to take home with them for treats, and/or can carry their prizes home.

We are going to have a blast.  Can't wait.  I have been cutting out paper all day today to get my kits ready for them to put together.

Good night and here to inky fingers y'all!!

TIPTOE THROUGH THE TULIPS

OH HOW I LOVE SPRING - especially springtime in TEXAS.  The humidity is low and the weather is reasonably cool.  It is fabulous.  I have been working in my garden planting cilantro, tomatoes, tomatilloes, fennel (for the monarch butterflies) and some flowers like impatients and daisies.  Impatients should be my "signature" flower - because I SURE AM IMPATIENT!!  ha

Here is a fun card I tried after watching Valita's wonderful UTube videos on using punches unusually.  This tulip is made with mostly the OWL PUNCH which is then punched with the oval punch.  It was fun to make.  Please tell me what you think.  And for sure go to UTube to search Valita and watch her amazing videos on punches flowers.  She is Awesome!!

Stamp:  Oval All
Paper:  Daffodil delight, poppy parade and pear pizzazz card stock; Sunny garden DSP
Punch: Owl punch, large oval punch
Inks:  daffodil delight, poppy parade and pear pizzazz
Embellishments:  flower brads, daffodil pompom trim
Other: top note die, big shot, sponges, stamping dimensionals, tombow glue, snail adhesive

Happy spring to you all.

OWL YA' DOIN?

I have been asked to host a class for the ladies of my church and I am delighted to share some of the cute ideas we have with Stampin' Up!

I am going to have the ladies do the cute Owl Calendar that Diana Gibbs does on http://www.dianagibbs.typepad.com/

Here are two of my versions of her cute magnetic calendars. This one I used some discontinued Brillant Blue card stock because it just needed that color! I gave this little guy some sleepy, sad kind of eyes to make you love him all the more!!

The one above I used Playdate DSP and carefully centered the little vest over a cute flower. Isn't it adorable? Don't need to add the heart on this one!! The leaf/branch is a die cut with my Big Shot called "Little leaf", but you could also use the bird punch leaf if you have it.

I got the medium calendar packs from VIPPIES, but SKYBLUEPINK also has them and they might even be a little cheeper.

Get out some paper and glue and get crafting!!
