SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY CARD

HEY BLOGGIES:

Today I have a monochromatic card for you today inspired by my Manager, Dawn Griffith.  She sent me a thank you card and gift for helping her with our team.  I loved the card so much I had to CASE it and make one also.  I just added the ribbon for a bit of a different look and to go with our SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY sketch by Patrice.

Here is my card with Flower Shop stamp set and pansy punch as well as Petite Petals stamp set and punch.
The shape of the card is so unusual and fun, isn't it?  I got a card like this from my Upline Dawn Griffith and knew I just HAD to case it.  Changed it up just a tiny bit.

 Closeup of the pansies

Closeup of the naturals ribbon with one flower and the sentiment.

PAPER PIECED CARD - EASTER WISHES

HEY BLOGGIES,

I am right in the middle of getting our house ready to sell so we can move.  Same area just into the country more.  SOOO because of that, I have most of my craft room all packed and stored away safely.

But how can anyone go weeks without stamping or crafting??!!  I know I can't.  I made a paper pieced card today and used the sentiment of one of the 5 that I kept from packing away.

I made this card to enter at TECHNO STAMPER MONDAY.  My second card for this week on this challenge.  Also entered at Around the World Stamping.

I used the FREE DSP from Sale-a-Bration called SWEET SORBET and I sure do L O V E that paper!!  I fussy cut out some of the printed flowers from the paper as well as stamped some Petite Petals flowers and punched them out.

Here is the card all finished.  I added some water coloring onto the DSP for shading, coloring and emphasis to some of the flowers.

You can see the paper pieced flower and leaves in this upper lkeft hand corner.  I then popped it up on dimensionals and used my markers and aqua painter to add shading, filling and layering of colors,  LOVE IT

The twine is the FREE SAB SWEET SORBET ACCESSORY PACK and I am loving this thicker twine.  I used a trick I saw on the web recently - I used a bit of gesso or elmer's glue in between my fingers and rubbed it on the tails of the twine.  Then I shaped it how I wanted it to be and let it almost dry before I attached it to my card.  AWESOME how it makes such a difference with the bow all shaped and pretty.  (this is before I added the other candy dots to my card.

Now you can see my candy dots (I changed out the one on the twine bow) and the completed card with the shading and coloring.  What do you think? I really REALLY liked the process because I was so much more involved with the creation by coloring, shading, layering colors and then paper piecing and adding punches.  You will see some more of these types of cards from me again.

OOPS, I forgot to show the inside of my card:

I believe the most important part of Easter:  HE IS RISEN.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  Please stop back by again.  If you have any questions, let me know.
The colors I used are:

Soft Suede ink (for sentiment)
Crisp Cantaloupe
Pool Party
Calypso Coral
Coastal Cabana
Summer Starfruit

ANOTHER PRETTY FLOWER CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Oh, the leaves are all popping out on our beautiful elms and oaks here in The Woodlands, TX.  It is so beautiful to see all these spring green colors.  Green has always been my favorite color, especially in the spring,.

I have another springtime flower card for those of you still cold, wet or snowy.  I cased it from a card swap I did at Leadership in Houston.  This was Katy McG's card idea - thanks Katy I loved it and just had to case it!!

I loved the design of the card how the upper left corner and lower right corner compliment each other.  I also like the colors - simple but so pretty.

I like the pennant banner from Perfect Pennants with the petite petals flower punched out and applied on it, as well as the washi tape behind it. And of course the saying is something we can ALL use a reminder about, yes?

Hope you enjoyed this card.  Please stop back by soon.

SPRING, GLORIOUS SPRING HERE IN EAST TEXAS

HEY BLOGGIES,

We have had a fantastic week of spring weather and our trees burst forth with their leaves.  Lots of flowering bushes and trees and treating us to their beauty also.

Our LNS challenge for this week is to create a card that says SPRING.  I choose the FREE stamp set PETAL PARADE from saleabration.

I chose strawberry slush and bermuda bay for my color combo.  The paper is Geometric DSP.  This is also for the Monday TECHNO STAMPER LUNCHTIME CHALLENGE

Oh, I also used a bermuda bay candy dot on top of my popped up flower.  And created the ribbon/banner with the stamp set, bermuda bay ink and coastal cabana card stock.

I created a matching envie by sticking the envie closed and cutting off the left side.  Then I added bermuda bay card stock for the flap, and stamped some more to match the card.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you come back again soon.

SALE A BRATION GOOD AS GOLD KIT AND SWEET SORBET ACCESSORIES PACK

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I have a card made with the FREE Good as Gold Card Kit and the FREE Sweet Sorbet Accessories Pack.  I used the items in a different way to create my own version of card.

I used the Sketch from Sketch Frenzy Friday by Kim.  Here is my card.

I used Coastal Cabana card stock for the base and cut one of the card kit cards as my designer paper for the top.  I added Crisp Cantaloupe card stock cut by the FRINGE SCISSORS below the designer paper.

I used the tags that are included in the Good as Gold Kit for my banners and attached them to the Coastal Cabana twine.  I used washi tape in coastal cabana to attach the twine to the card.

These cork flowers are in the accessory pack.  I colored them crisp cantaloupe and coastal cabana as you can see.  I also put a piece of washi tape at the bottom of the card.

Here is another view of my complete card.  I hope you enjoyed it.  These kits are so awesome and with a few added details or changes, you can come up with so many different cards OR you can just make them as the kit suggests and you have 8 wonderful cards to use!!

RAINY SKIES AND HAPPY THOUGHTS

HEY BLOGGIES,

This weekend has been rain, rain and more rain.  No complaints here though because we have desperately needed it.  Now we have very cold winds blowing in a cold front.  brrrr

This card comes from one I saw on fellow demo Jaydee's site and I loved the idea so much I had to make one like it.

The Sale-a-Bration set SEE YA LATER is what I used as well as the SCALLOP TAG TOPPER PUNCH and the PETITE PETALS PUNCH.

Oh, and I also used the candy dots for the middle of the petite flowers, a stencil and my spritzer for the sun rays, and the sun and clouds are from a bag of accessories I got at the M store.  I thought they worked perfectly for this card.

I used crushed curry chevron ribbon tied with some early espresso bakers twine.

I have entered this in the JUST ADD INK challenge - Sale a Bration., and to RETRO SKETCHES.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please stop here again.

HAPPY CONGRATULATIONS CARD

HEY BLOGGIES,

Today I have a fun card for a congratulations to someone.  I used the HAPPY CONGRATULATIONS stamp set and some designer paper to create it:

crushed curry, raspberry ripple and a blue I can't remember at the moment are the colors I used on this card. (man I hate how my memory takes a nap on me so often!!)

Here is a closeup to show you how I did the 3D lanterns on the patterned paper.  I stamped and then punched them out and used dimensionals to pop them up.  The middle part was completely popped up, even the background raspberry ripple paper from the first layer.

A congratulations banner was popped up at the bottom in a lighter blue than the lanterns.

Thanks for stopping by.  I have entered this card at Sketch Frenzy Friday.  Here is the sketch from Kathy  for this week:

Why don't you click on the link and join in with all of us.  It it is a fun and simple sketch that can be used by everyone.  Thanks, Kim Innis for this fun sketch.

LIFE IN THE FOREST

HEY BLOGGIES,

I have a comic-type of card for you today.  I am using LIFE IN THE FOREST stamp set.  I created it for the Late Night Stampers Challenge - something with wind.  I had seen this idea at Leadership in Houston and knew I had to have the set and had to make this card.  It is hilarious:

Here is Mr. Mouse using Mr. Raccoon as his own personal parachute on a breezy summer day.  Cracks me up!!

I used the cloudy day embossing folder for the sky and then colored the clouds with the chalk marker.  I created a banner with the greeting and popped it up with some dimensionals,

Here they are almost landing in the field of grass, made by theFringe Scissors and some pistacio pudding card stock.  I made their eyes look like they are a bit scared and fearful of the landing.,

Hope you had fun seeing this card.  Come back to visit again.

YOU ARE THE BEES KNEES

HEY BLOGGIES,

Did the title get your attention?  I don't even know where that expression came from in the 40s, but there it is.  My post today is all about BEES.

Springtime makes me think of BEES waking up and finding the wildflowers blooming.  I saw two big carpenter bees (I used to call them bumble bees because I didnt know what a carpenter bee was) when I stopped at a red light and looked at the wildflowers blooming next to the road.  There were the two big bees working hard at collecting honey.  Spring time!!

I have to warn you, this is NOT a Stampin' Up! set.  I wanted a fun fantasy bee and SU does not have one this size.
I am loving the thinlits flipits card makers.   It is so fun to use them to create fun creative fold cards.  This one has pretty scallop edges. I used several things besides the designer paper to create the fun design.  I used a small honeycomb stamp with gray ink, and I punched out some hexi shapes to adhere on the top left side of the card.  Also the cute black beads and the "happy" thinlit die.

Here it is open so you can see how it works.  I was so pleased that the word BE just happened to be on the designer paper.  But I put a small BEE above the happy so it all made sense.

Here is Denice's card she made. It is so stinkin' cute!!  Same stamp set, same thinlits flip card, yet so completely different.

Hope you enjoyed my card.  Please stop back in to visit again.

I have entered this card at Techno stamper: Monday Lunchtime Sketch

THANK YOU CARD WITH PETAL PARADE FREE SET FROM SALE-A-BRATION

HEY BLOGGIES,

I made a card for SKETCH FRENZY FRIDAY sketch.  I used the FREE stamp set you can get with $50 in any products purchase from me.

Rich razzleberry and Island indigo are my coordinating colors for this card on whisper white card stock.

I needed a Thank you card,so I added this sentiment from another stamp set and love how it fits right in. " "Thinking outside of the box" by mixing and matching stamps from different sets is really getting more bang for your buck in your purchases of stamp sets!!

Closeup of the rich razzleberry ribbon that coordinates so beautifully with the ink and cardstock in the same color.  The dark and light blue arrow-geometric-thingy (hows that for describing it?) was made by inking and stamping once, then stamping again without inking, then repeating that pattern all the way down the edge.  You likey?

I just felt like it needed the layer behind the main images to be a bit wonky to fit the geometric-style this card took on.  I like how it looks.  Oh yeah, I used some colored brights candy dots for the middle of the three flowers.

Go over to Sketch Frenzy Friday and see what the other team members created with this sketch.  Then create and submit yours as well.  It is great fun and good practice. Here is the sketch to work off of:

EASTER CARD CLASS LAST NIGHT

HEY BLOGGIES,

I had so much fun last night with my friends creating beautiful cards with the BLESSED EASTER single stamp.  First thing we did was cut the sentiment off the stamp and now we had TWO STAMPS - the image on one side of the block and the sentiment on the other side.  This way we can keep using our stamp even after Easter is over!!  woot woot

We used the WATERCOLOR WONDER NOTE CARDS to make our cards.  It was so much fun to have these note cards all scored and ready to go!!

Karent is showing the one card we just used regular card stock and embellished with the doily and a starburst die cut around the 3 tulips.

Heather is clowning around while showing the vibrant crushed curry and cajun craze card from the notecard set.  We created a mask and stencil (you can see it in the bottom right corner of this photo) so we could add more sponged inks to make it really vibrant.  We also spritzed some seam binding ribbon to be the same two colors and pleated it along the bottom.  Really a FUN and beautiful card!!

Leslie is also showing the two tone card and you can see the pleated ribbon we created with our spritzers.

Vina and Heather are showing you their versions of the bright tulips and wisteria wonder ruffled ribbon on their doily cards.  I LOVE these Easter colors, don't you?  Lookie here - Heather matches the ribbon!!

For this pretty note card of different watercolored greens we did some white embossing and then only watercolored a few flowers for a different effect.  It really focuses on the white embossing and the greens which are so pretty. Oh, we also pressure embossed the tulips around the outside of the card for an additional feature.

Here are the three cards without the beautiful women to distract you:

Thanks for visiting with me this morning. Please stop back again to see what I am creating next.
